Did anyone ever get a acknowledgement about Stevie's flowers on opening night?

I was just wondering...I mean it was a very thoughtful and kind thing to do to go unnoticed!

nope, nada, nothing... but i don't think anyone expected her to say anything.. i sure didn't.. :distress:

They might get a thank you note or something if Seeker put a return address or something like that on the card.

Kelly 05-23-2005 11:55 AM

For me, there really wasnt a need for a formal thank you, I didn't expect one. I just wanted her to know she had alot of hard core support out there for her opening night and I think we accomplished that with the gesture.
Perhaps the Nickfix might say something but I am not all that concerned about it.

I haven't heard a peep. I put a in return address, just in case, but haven't heard a word. Actually, wasn't really expecting too, (Except maybe Landslide for Ledgies dedication...)

No matter who you are, well, I was born and raised in the South and was always told to say please and thank you, large and small gestures alike. It just good manners. Maybe it doesn't apply to rock stars.

Would have taken 2 seconds to say something or write alittle note....oh well.

SeattleMark 05-23-2005 06:54 PM

I agree, but she rarely goes out of her way to connect to fans when she's not on stage. I'm hoping for a note for the painting, but I doubt it.

While I think it would be cool for her to do so, I can only imagine that people have used a kind gesture like this to get to her some some bad motive. I think she is just guarded because she has learned the hard way. But, I do think she appreciated the flowers - why would she not?

Did you ever post a pic of it? I can't keep up with all the threads, would like to see it.

I'd bet you'll hear from her. Sometimes it takes a while - maybe even not until after the tour. But I bet anything you'll get a thank yuo with a picture of her, likely signed.

I will keep everyone posted. We will shall see.....

Gypsy-Rhiannon 05-24-2005 04:11 AM

I hope you hear. I do know of a lot of people who have given her stuff though, with contact details and never hear anything. She must get given tons of stuff. Maybe it would be impossible to respond to them all?

I think it was cool that you guys did that, but you have to figure some folks do things solely to manipulate a response from Stevie. As others have said, she gets a lot of stuff from people. It doesn't mean it was unnoticed, and it doesn't mean you didn't make her smile and give her a boost. You have probably all read her comments in the past: give to her favorite charities, etc. because she has a ton of flowers and stuffed animals.

I'm thinking the same thing, just give it a little more time. I'm sure she was grateful even if you don't hear that directly though.

For myself, I thought it would be a nice idea on opening night, I didn't expect to hear anything. I tease about it, but in all honesty, I really don't expect to hear anything. I was actually more ethused by the response from the ledgies, especially those who didn't have a chance to be there. I think we all did it for the right reasons. If they made her smile, great! If she threw them in the trash and never opened the card, well it's her loss...I am not going to lose sleep over it. We had fun with it, no matter what happens.

I truly didn't mean to even imply anything...My only motive was curiosity in knowing whether anyone knew if she received them.

Yes, she recieved them. Atleast as far as I was humanily possible to find out. They made it to the dressing room. But as far as Stevie opening the card or anything? Don't know.

I thought of the idea late, so we didn't have a lot of time. I didnt get a photo as time didn't allow for it. But they were Very Elegant and done by a highend florist who does all the stars flowers here in Vegas. (She was on Oprah and a few other shows on TV) It was a european bouquet in a crystal vase with a variety of flowers. I think everyone wiould really like them, they were very classy. (I was debating between that and a horseshoe wreath like in the old movies....*(j/k)) It included a card (Very nice watercolor and pressed paper) with everyone's name and city inside. I also included a return address *just in case she wanted to send the ledgies a note* hint hint - But nothing recieved yet. Many folks contributed - many who were unable to come to the show - so was very nice.

BTFLCHLD 05-26-2005 10:29 AM

IMO stevie would have read the card, or listened while someone read it to her.
