The Heart Of The Matter
The Boys Of Summer

All She Wants To Do Is Dance

I don't know much about Henley's shows, but I imagine it would be similar. "Hotel California" and "The End of the Innoncence" back-to-back makes me shriek in pleasure. :woohoo:

Was Heart of the Matter a popular song? If so, I think I love that song.

Never heard of "Witchy Woman". Is that about La Nicks?

Yep, it was a hit single for him. One of our local stations plays it frequently.

Big Eagles hit. It was written before Don and Stevie met.

I'm probably not going to see him, because they're not coming near me. But his set wouldn't bother me. Many of those songs are classic, IMO.

I'm actually looking forward to it. You are right, he has very classic songs. Desperado? Hotel California? All She Wants To Do Is Dance? I FEEL A SING A LONG COMING SOON!

SapphireSister 05-20-2005 06:17 PM

I'm not a big Henley fan (although he does have some great songs) and I'm praying that Stevie comes out here without him but I LOVE the song Sunset Grill oh yeahhhhh!

Supposedly about Linda Ronstadt.

Henley claims that it is about the women he was meeting at that time who were all into the Wiccan/Pagan thing.

I like all of these songs to varying degrees, except "Everything is Different Now," which I've never heard. And "New York Minute" is a real downer. But as long as he drops EWTRTW, which I imagine he will as it's a cover, I'll be fine.

PLEASE don't let her back out of doing "The Highwayman" with Don!

skcin 05-23-2005 08:24 AM

This is a pretty good setlist, IMO. Everything is Different Now & Taking You Home are off his most recent CD, which I like a lot. Glad to see Heart of the Matter & End of the Innocence in there too.

Boys of Summer? One of my all-time faves evah. All She Wants to Do is Dance? Not so much.

Heart of the Matter is also one of my favorites by him...altho of course I love End of the Innocence, and Boys of Summer.. I think it would be cool if he and Stevie duetted on "It Takes Two"..didnt they do that once at a benefit or something??

This sounds more plausible. Linda Ronstadt is about as far away from witchy as it gets, unless you're a conservative Republican, then that might fit your view!

I used to bartend at a club in Florida- one of the bartenders used to love that song and I absolutely hated it. He would pay the DJ $5 to play it, then I would sneak up and pay him $5 NOTto play it. The DJ definitely had it going on, huh?

I'm so glad I'm not going to have to see Stevie with Don.
