Has anyone made...
a mix CD of fave Fleetwood Mac songs? It's really hard to do! There's too much to choose from and there are so many songs that I've yet to hear. But I made one a few months ago with this tracklisting-
1) Angel 2) Forever 3) Never Going Back Again 4) That's Alright 5) Sunny Side of Heaven 6) Gypsy 7) Talkin' To My Heart 8) Sara 9) Hold Me 10) Child of Mine 11) The Ledge 12) Everywhere 13) I Know I'm Not Wrong 14) Miles Away 15) Beautiful Child 16) Miranda 17) Brown Eyes 18) I Don't Want to Know 19) Like Crying (from Blue Horizon box set) 20) Underway (anyone as crazy about this one as I am?) Then I realized that I didn't include "Why" and "No Questions Asked" and concluded that "I must have...I must have been CRAZY!" I would replace "Brown Eyes" with "Why." I'm also not sure why I included "I Don't Want to Know." It probably isn't worth of a top 20 or anything. I wish I had more blues-era, but I don't know as much of it, comparatively. So my CD wasn't all that balanced. |
I just made one, actually.
1. Oh Daddy (Rumours reissue version) 2. Miranda 3. Save Me A Place 4. That's Alright 5. Oh Diane 6. Behind the Mask 7. Tango In the Night 8. Nights In Estoril 9. Gypsy 10. Crystal 11. World Turning 12. The Ledge 13. Brown Eyes |

I didn't know you were such a big "Nights in Estoril" fan. That is a really beautiful song. EDIT: Meant to ask...BN or White Album version of "Crystal"? |
I made a Disc #3 of VBOFM. Not my favorite, favorite songs...but songs I thought would make it to disc 3 (singles, stuff played live).
1. Fireflies 2. Eyes of the World 3. Isn't It Midnight 4. Angel 5. Oh Daddy (Rumours Reissue) 6. Brown Eyes 7. I Know I'm Not Wrong 8. Say You Will 9. Over and Over 10. Beautiful Child 11. Peacekeeper 12. Save Me 13. Steal Your Heart Away 14. Temporary One 15. Stand Back 16. Save Me A Place 17. Farmer's Daughter |
I have MANY of these mix c.d.'s.
The one I made most recently for my sister (it's a double-disc) and she didn't want any of the SYW stuff---whatever  Rhiannon--Live double album version Fireflies--Live double album Second Hand News Eyes of the World--LIB Silver Springs--Rumours re-issue You Make Loving Fun Sara Say You Love Me The Chain--Dance version Go Your Own Way Think About It--Rumours re-issue Gypsy Caroline Brown Eyes That's Alright Honey Hi Angel Sister of The Moon Tusk Dreams I Know I'm Not Wrong Book of Love Think About Me Gold Dust Woman Oh Well---Live double album version Oh Daddy Farmer's Daughter |

But I can't really see Danny being boring, but then again I love "Only Over You," so you can't trust a thing I say! But I love "The Purple Dancer" ("dancing in the space of...time") and "Child of Mine." I think those two are anything but boring. And for whatever reason I'm fascinated by the "Like Crying" on the Blue Horizon box set. The production on Then Play On bothers me. I love the way the vocals and guitars sound on the box set version. Quote:

It kind of came out like a concert set...a LONNNNG concert set:

(But needs more Stevie!) Of course I'm going to say that. |
Oh, my God! How many dozens have I made??
Mine mostly are made up of demos and boots - the released stuff I tend to listen to on the released CDs. |

Well, let's count 'em, and see how they stack up: Peter Green: 6 Danny Kirwan: 7 Jeremy Spencer: 1 Bob Welch: 3 Christine McVie: 4 Lindsey Buckingham: 3 Stevie Nicks: 5 Dave Walker: 1 Rick Vito: 1 Billy Burnette: 1 Bekka Bramlett: 1 Hmmm...that's surprising...Danny led the way. Welch only 3; Chris w/4 Definitely NOT an indication of my favorite members or songs, really. |
I made this one AGES ago, but it's one of my favorites:
The Chain (live LA Forum 1982) Seven Wonders Little Lies Goodbye Angel Silver Springs Nights In Estoril In The Back Of My Mind (edit) Freedom Why Rhiannon (live 1976) Go Your Own Way Save Me Gypsy Bleed To Love Her Sara Wish You Were Here |

I'm surprised "Only Over You" has a couple of fans. It is probably the only Christine song I truly detest and always skip.

I suffered through the beginning notes one time....and the middle and end of the song is actually good. It's that damn OUT note that kills it. |

And neither one of them even touch "Jane," "Docklands," or "Desert Angel." |

I used to dislike "Sugar Daddy," but it's grown on me. It's a fun song, and I love how she giggles at the end. :)
