Star Wars Episode III is awesome
Saw it on Monday and I promise, if you're a fan you won't be disappointed.
It has way more in common with the original trilogy than the previous prequels and some of it is actually quite shocking (it's even darker than Empire), plus it's great to see Vader on screen once again. I can't wait to see it again! |
I am so looking forward to this. Thanks for the heads-up!
|
Thanks, I'm really excited to see it. And I'm not even a huge Star Wars fan.
|
Oh MAN!!!! I can't WAIT to see this movie...
I was going to go tomorrow night until I realized that I am assigned to cover our local Republican Convention  Guess I"ll be experiencing my own "trip to the dark side" :p |
Thanks for the info. :wavey:
I'm not a big Star Wars fan, but this one looks really good. On a side note- There was a bunch of Star Wars geeks camping outside of a theatre here, and it's not even being played at that one. |

Actually I've become much more patient these days in terms of waiting to see movies  when the first two came out? I HAD to see them opening night - same with the Harry Potters... Now? I really don't actually mind waiting too much :D Although - the bits I'm seeing from EP III just have me drooling to see it.... Ah well my aversion to crowds AND crazies will probably keep me waiting til NEXT week anyway... |
cool! :woohoo:
|
I can't wait to see it.....unfortunatly, I probably won't get the chance until next week. :(
No spoilers plz! Tho we all know what happens... |
I wanted to go the midnight showing tonight, but tickets are sold out. :( No I have to wait till tomorrow. I'm taking my four year-old, so this should be interesting. Is it sad that she already wants all the Star Wars toys?

I don't. I have never seen a Star Wars flick. Does that make me UnAmerican? |

The earliest I showing I could find was Saturday after five, every other one was sold out at the sites I checked, so I grabbed it. I kind of get a kick out of having to search for seats to see a freaking movie, as if it's some hot-selling concert. |
The news last night...
were showing people lined up outside the large theaters in downtown OKC to watch Snore Wars 3-Lucas Ran Outta Ideas, I meant the newest Star Wars movie...
Glad I'm not a fan, Havent watched a Star Wars movie since the one ("Return of the Lazy Eye") with the hairy trolls in it (aka the f**kin Ewoks) Brian "Havent decided which I hate worse, Snore Wars or Snore Trek...MST3K rulz!!!" j. |

I'm a late convert. Never was a big fan of them (even though I had the two Ewok movies when I was little  ), then I saw Episode I in the theater and thought it was okay but nothing special. I just watched Episode II not long ago and loved it, so I've been watching the old ones and realized how good they are. I? Am salivating to see the new one. It looks great and I've heard it's one of the best. |
Cool...

Especially annoying is all the marketing tie-ins to the movie, Which grate my nerves to no end...Lucas must be in need of the almighty $$$$ moreso than any  |

Wow!
Amazing movie! Probably the best of all three! But it was really bad when there were the 2 parallel fights (Joda & Darth Sidius and Obi-Wan & Anakin) and you know that all 4 will survive! Anyone wanna know how it ends? |

I can't tell you how much I'm fighting the urge to download it... |
It's sold out until Sunday around here...and I'm sure it will keep being that way.
I want to see it but I guess I'll have to wait until July or something LOL. I hear it's really good, way up there with Empire and the original. |

I was at the premiere in my city (we only have one cinema) and it was only like 50 people there (it has about 200 seats)! So it was okay here!

Whooo-hooooo!!! I just watched III. Wow wow wow wow wow!!! That was amazing. I couldn't stand 1 & 2, but whooo, was this one great! I was bawling during the fight between Darth and Obi.
I can't decided which one I love the best, #3 or #6. I was a late Jedi bloomer, too. The first Star Wars I watched was the first episode. I'm so glad that I was convinced to watch the other episodes, or else I wouldn't have seen the third today, and wouldn't be as happy as I am right now. :blob2:  |
'Star Wars' midnight showings total $16.5 million
Thursday May 19 8:34 PM ET The grand finale to the "Star Wars" saga opened in sold-out theaters on Thursday to legions of fans dressed in their Jedi finest, generating an estimated $16.5 million at debut midnight showings alone. The unprecedented tally reported by distributor 20th Century Fox from some 2,900 midnight screenings fueled anticipation that "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith" would mark one of the biggest film openings of all time. An official studio estimate for the entire first day of the movie was not expected until Friday. And Paul Dergarabedian, president of box office tracking service Exhibitor Relations, said there was nothing to compare it to. "This is a huge number," he added. "It portends a huge opening day number. I think the sky's the limit right now." At the same time, the blistering pace of advance ticket orders accelerated. One leading online and telephone box office service, Fandango Inc., reported that tickets to "Revenge of the Sith" were selling at a record rate of six per second, up from four per second on Wednesday. The top distribution executive for News Corp.-owned Fox, Bruce Snyder, said he "would be pleased" if "Sith" matched the $110 million grossed by its immediate predecessor, "Attack of the Clones," through its first weekend. Some box office analysts said "Sith," by virtue of its generally superior reviews and status as the final chapter in George Lucas' "Star Wars" double trilogy, could surpass the opening-weekend tally of "Clones." "Sith" also opened on more screens -- some 9,400 domestic prints in all -- than any previous installment in the "Star Wars" franchise, and ticket prices have climbed since "Clones" came out three years ago. Experts said they expected "Sith" to easily gross between $35 million and $40 million on its first day in North American theaters alone. That would put it in the same league as "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" "The Matrix Reloaded," "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," "Spider-Man" and its sequel. By comparison, "Attack of the Clones," which also opened on a Thursday, grossed $30.1 million its first day. "Spider-Man 2" boasts the biggest first-day box office ever, $40.4 million, while "Shrek 2" holds the record for highest single-day gross -- $44.8 million earned in its fourth day of release. The original "Spider-Man" is the all-time weekend box office champ, grossing nearly $115 million in its first Friday-through-Sunday frame. In the vacuum of official estimates of first-day business for "Sith," advance ticket orders offered the best evidence that the film was a blockbuster in the making. "There are hundreds of sold-out shows across America, and demand is increasing, not subsiding," Fandango Chief Executive Art Levitt told Reuters. "It has picked up significantly even over yesterday's sales, and with this momentum (the sales rate) could grow even higher tomorrow." The brisk pace of advance sales and the sight of "Star Wars" devotees lined up in costumes hours before midnight showings warmed the hearts of Hollywood executives everywhere looking for "Sith" to snap a 12-week box office lull. Both Fandango and rival Moviefone.com said "Sith" has accounted for some 98 percent of all advance ticket orders during the past two days. Moviefone.com said its movie trailer for "Sith" has been streamed 3.1 million times from its Web site, more than double the number of "Return of the King" two years ago. |

A big yawn to you but a little bit of happiness for others. |
A cinema which was a few miles away showed the episodes I&II and then at midnight they showed episode III and afterwards for the hradcore fans they showed the "new" digital episodes IV&V&VI again! I actually wanted to do that, but then I remembered my Lord Of The Rings experience in 2003, where I had to see the first two movies at the premiere and slept during the third part!

I dont think...

Loved it!
I went to see it yesterday, and absoloutely loved it! It's definitely the best of this trilogy, and I think I'm at the point where I think it even blows 'Empire' out of the water.
Very dark, lots of action starting at the beginning, and going throughout, lots of emotions of all kinds, and I cried during some scenes. :o For those who have seen it, is it bad to be emphatic as to the main reason why Anakin wanted to learn the dark side of the Force? Then again, I doubt his vision would have come true had he not turned. All in all, an excellent movie, possibly the the best of both trilogies, and if I'm a Star Wars 'nerd', so be it. :p  |
