Knowing me I'd be all tongue-tied and wouldn't even have the nerve to approach him .

Hey Pip, I see no one has owned up to seeing him...so this could only yet again be an unsubstantiated sighting by the 'wishful thinkers'.....LOL!!

You know WHATEVER - I hope no one ever has the effrontery to tell you you did not see what you saw

Having been on the receiving end of that - let me tell you it is just not nice and for some people, you could produce a photo and they would swear it is doctored

Oh I don't know about that. I just didn't see any posts on here about anyone seeing him. Curious to know who spotted him...

Pip

AliP 05-12-2005 01:28 PM

I think quite a few people spotted him, they're just afraid of posting it because of the backlash that's bound to follow. ;) :wavey:

BombaySapphire3 05-12-2005 01:39 PM

He most likely was there to see his prescient remark made in the 1980s about Stevie becoming a "Vegas lounge act" come to it's fruition.

LOL - well if your gonna be that, that is one hell of a venue to do it considering two of the world's largest stars ever perform there on a regular basis  I mean she is hardly performing in a lounge by the slots ot the buffet line filled with old women in lame and hairy chested men laden with fake gold chains screaming - I have a coooooouuupoaaannnnn  Interestingly, she is doing many of the same songs LB's plays with her on on the road - hmmmmmmmmm - FM a vegas lounge act on the road - in fact i think they played Vegas twice - nice

Well, she is one of the largest stars in the world. I made no comment on her talent, though you seem to want to say I did

Again, I think LB was referring to the band next to the Vegas buffet line and not to a rock and roll star performing in a Vegas theatre, which is what La Nicks is doing here. I mean if the latter is the test, well then he has played Vegas as a lounge act as well

But, what do I know

Bwahahaha. Love where this thread has gone!

Like I said, was posted on a nother board. I figured if anyone from here saw him, they'd post over here... There were no details on the other board (at leats not that I saw yesterday). And, of course, I was just a leetle curious!

GardenStateGirlie 05-12-2005 09:57 PM

I saw him sitting by himself at the top of the theater with my own two eyes (and yes, they work just fine, thanks). Why did I see him? Because I was looking for him. His sister-in-law was also there to see Stevie (Daryl Buckingham) and was sitting in front of a friend of mine. I'm highly doubting Daryl was there to support Cory who was bringing Stevie drinks onto the stage before the show (btw, Karen Johnston? nowhere in sight).

wondergirl9847 05-12-2005 10:27 PM

Cool!!

Thanks for confirming, Marissa! Good to know he's alive and well, but dammit, back to work, man!

Hey that's interesting..maybe Cory has replaced Karen...although I doubt it...Karen probably was giving drinks to Stevie backstage...lol

Might be weird but I've never seen the interview in the 80s with Lindsey when he made those comments about Stevie becoming a Vegas lounge act

Chris

wondergirl9847 05-12-2005 11:04 PM

Hmm...

Did he say she'd become a Vegas lounge act or that her solo concerts were like lounge acts....which he also said that about Miss Christine too, right?

Johnny Stew 05-12-2005 11:33 PM

Yes, he said he had seen Stevie's and Christine's live shows, and the setlists included so many Fleetwood Mac songs, that they felt like "lounge acts" to him.

Perhaps he doesn't feel that way any longer though, as his own 'Out Of The Cradle' tour certainly included not just a couple Mac songs.
But that happens... we often feel one way about something, and change our view as the years go by.

Thats true..I'm sure he doesnt feel that way anymore...he and Stevie seem to have more of a loving friendship now than in the past...

Plus the places he played on the OOTC tour were pretty damn close to be a LOUNGE! lol

Curious to hear karen was nowhere in sight. Unless she stayed backstage the whole time. They are usually joined at the hip aren't they?

Was he just sat amongst regular people? Imagine being seated next to LB! I would be most distracted! LOL! I remember when I was at the theatre last year and seated near to Keving Spacey. Quite a buzz for me! LOL!

I'm surprised if he was there and so far away...maybe Stevie didn't know he was there...or she did know, and he wanted to remain inconspicuous so rumours didn't start...because if he was close Stevie would have been mighty distracted. :o

Maybe she wanted his input on the show, including the stage and video screens, so he sat further back.

WelshWitchPMD 05-13-2005 04:29 PM

Guess that I will have to bring my "Lindsey goggles" on Friday and Saturday!
