Hey guys!

I was just in Vegas from April 28th-May 2nd, and I happened to catch Celine's show on the 29th. We were in Section 3 row JJ Seats 303 and 304...

The venue is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! There is REALLY not a bad seat in the house. Now row JJ, put us at about 9th row, but it felt more like 4th-5th. Everyone in the front orchestra shouldn't worry a bit! Even you Ledgies everywhere else. The last row at the last section is even darn good!

Security was tight, and yes, they do use metal detectors. Put, dont be embarrassed about being caught with a camera...its Vegas, everyone has a camera. They check it in and you get it after the show (worst case scenario).

If you guys have any questions about the venue post it here and ill be happy to answer it :xoxo:

As far as other shows I did which I HIGHLY recommend....we saw Rita Rudner (FUNNIEST WOMAN EVA!! ) She had us on the floor! Plus we saw Cirque du Soleil's "O" (BLEW MY MIND...BEST SHOW I SAW) And we saw Zumanity (The adult version of Cirque Du Soleil....18 and over only. It was so cool, but you leave and all you wanna do is take your significant other to the hotel room and ...you know....tusk!
If you have EXTRA time catch these shows!!!!! They were amazing!!!!!

BTW, We were on the Today show Friday morning and I have pics of matt and katie to post later, but for now....heres a good one of me in front of a stevie poster! :) And me and Lauren in front of Harrah's.

amber 05-03-2005 10:32 PM

Very cool, Alex! You look great in your pics. I soooooo want to see "O" sometime. I'm glad you posted info about the venue. So, now, my 12th row seats will be more like...7th or 8th!!! :D Rad!
I have a question - can you blade around?

jkmaletic 05-03-2005 10:38 PM

Good question! Also, how high would you estimate the stage to be?

Nice pics by the way.

Nope but funny you should mention...cause Stevie's gonna practically have to on that stage! She was not kidding AT ALL when she said the stage was huge. Celine and her dancers have to RUN across the stage...thats how big it is....Plus, I hope Stevie uses flying things like Celine does.....I hope watching Celine's show hasnt risen my expectation levels far beyond what they should be. But Stevie could really make an amazing show if she puts her mind to it...and hires lots of dancers

The stage is at quite an incline....the front is way lower than the back....walking, it took Celline a verse and a chorus of "A new day has come" to reach the front of the stage!!! That should give you an idea of how big it is..

I have a question about the camera. I plan on tearing the lining in one of my purses and putting camera in there. Do you think they will find it with the metal detectors? I just want like 5 good pics. What do you think? And where was all the security standing? Thanks!!! :wavey:

Actually Celine was pretty good vocally. She sang some of her hits. By far her best 2 songs were "I Surrender" and "To Love You More" She sings the end of TLYM and it blows you away. But, the night we went everyone was clapping at the end cause it was her sons first time seeing her show, so they clapped for like 3 minutes, and the whole time they had her face on the IMAX screens and she was sooo acting to try to cry....I left and I told Lauren "They should've given her a f***ing academy award". But other than that, pretty neat

TheMacAttack 05-03-2005 10:49 PM

Was the crowd for Celine very animated? Did they get up and dance at all or just sit there?

Sat there....i was disappointed at the crowd...they stood and clapped for maybe one song....THAT WAS IT.

jkmaletic 05-03-2005 10:52 PM

The FRONT of the stage is way lower?? AWESOME!! I was worried that it was gonna incline up the other way. My second row seats are gonna be way perfect!! Thanks so much for posting and answering these questions!

They dont scan the purses, so that might work, but I didnt see a flash go off in the audience...they are pretty nazi-ish about cameras. As far as guards....one in front of each row at the stage.

Nice pictures Alex!

GardenStateGirlie 05-03-2005 10:57 PM

First of all, I hadn't seen a picture of you since you've been busting your ass working out. You look great!! I can't wait to meet you both! Glad you guys had a great time. Excellent news about the stage too. I really hope she utilizes the room that she has. The thing I'm interested in knowing that that i'm aware there is an orchaestra pit--does that extend out a bit further than the stage? A lot of people were wanting to run up for Edge but if that's there, i'm thinking it may not be possible.

WelshWitchPMD 05-03-2005 11:09 PM

Glad you had such a great time in Vegas! Are you going to go back soon? :p  Thanks for sharing your Celine experience.

all the same 05-03-2005 11:10 PM

As if I wasn't losing it before about this trip, I sure am now!!!! So, my 6th row tickets are going to be like I'm sitting in front of Stevie on one of those crappy little carpet mats I sat on when I was in kindergarten! Did anyone else sit on those during story time?

Thanks for the compliment!!! :xoxo: We cant wait to meet you. Lauren is actually really excited to see Stevie...her fav is Celine, so she is saying that there is no way our Stevie can beat Celine....(cough) bull**** (cough)

There is barely any room...sorry guys, I dont see any Edge rushing :distress:

we just sat on the carpet. I think it was story time, I just talked to my friends.....

jkmaletic 05-03-2005 11:18 PM

No edge rushing, huh? What about if you're in maybe the first 2 or 3 rows? I remember when I saw Stevie in Vegas at the Aladdin she was reaching out to shake hands with the old high roller farts sitting in the front row who barely acknowledged her! When you say there's barely any room, do you mean between the front row and the front of the stage?

~Jamie

TwistedGypsy 05-03-2005 11:30 PM

Now that I have first row my ass will def. be up front not only for a possible "Edge encore", but if I can for the whole damn show.
Thanks for answering my question about the cameras, I'll give it my best shot..no pun intended. :D
Brit

MacMan 05-03-2005 11:34 PM

Here's a questions... If you were front row and standing ... how high up would you say the stage is from the floor where you are standing?

And is there much distance from where the front row sits and the actual stage?

Does it look possible to have the Edge rush at this venue or will that likely be curbed? For those of us in section 2 and 6, any of the seats maybe have an obstructed view from speaker placement issues?

If the orchaestra pit (where they keep musicians for Celine's show) extends out further than the stage, ya'll will be diving into it. I think that's what he means by not much room up there but perhaps i'm misreading what his answer is.

You could blade WAY off the strip, but the strip itself is like Manhattan at Friday lunch hour - but full of white trash. Jam packed full of some of the most frightening humanity this side of Branson.

Well you can tell Lauren...*AHEM* I DON'T THINK SO

diamondsnake 05-03-2005 11:39 PM

If you are 3rd row from the stage, but all the way on the side of the arena, will this be a horrible seat? I am in section 2 which is towards the side of the stage, am I in trouble?

Here's a couple of great shots of the venue... the lower seating and the size of the stage is sort of explained by these pics.

by the looks of those pictures, i don't see how on Earth anyone is gonna be able to rush the stage for "Edge".... there seems to be stairs that lead up to the stage and i doubt if security is gonna let the fans walk up the steps to touch Stevie's hands... i just don't see how that's gonna happen.. although i'm still gonna try :p

greatdarkwing 05-04-2005 07:07 AM

Im at work and I'll answer all the other questions today around 1 P.M. Eastern....so if you have anymore, just post them and I'll answer them all!

Kelly 05-04-2005 07:38 PM

My boss saw Elton. He said there was NO standing allowed..front row especially. :( So..be prepared. I was asking him about room in front of the stage and he said there is not much and security was uber tight. I am not expecting them to allow an Edge rush...and frankly I am just grateful to be going!

I am going to try to sneak in my camera..and take a few photos..
