I would imagine it's worldwide to prevent a loss of revenue due to bootlegging. It's being shown at Cannes this year, I believe, they just rolled out the films that are going to be shown. It's not in competition, though.

I don't know if I'm going to see it. It sounds intriguing but I don't like Star Wars at all. But that Hayden is a hottie and I love love love Natalie Portman, so I might see it.

I have been burned by George Lucas five times in a row with this Star Wars ****. I ain't going in for number six.

By "burned" I mean

1) I saw Star Wars in 1977 in the movie theaters when I was eight years old. I wasn't old enough to realize what a piece of **** it was then.

2) I saw Empire Strikes Back in the movie theaters in 1980 when I was eleven years old and I was old enough to recognize what a piece of **** it was then.

3) I reluctantly saw Return of the Jedi in the movie theaters in 1983 when I was fourteen and I would have walked out, but I was with friends and had to wait for my ride back from the movie theater anyway.

4) I refused to see The Phantom Menace. However, I was in Palm Springs on vacation and it was hotter than hell, so my partner and I decided to give it a chance. OY!!! Whatta stinkah!!! It had been released for some time at that point and we knew the reviews but, at the time, Palm Springs only had one or two movie theaters so.....

5) I absolutely knew better with Attack of the Clones. However, one drowsy weekend it was on some cable channel so I TiVo'd it. Alls I can say is thank gawd for TiVo's fast forward button! Horribly bad.... horrible, horrible, horrible.

So, now there is no chance in hell I will waste my time on this drivel. All I can say is I'm glad it's finally all over and that this is the last of it.

I've mostly escaped seeing any of them! It's a miracle! I've seen parts of some of the old ones...but I just don't like it!

I haven't seen one Star Wars flick, either. Don't plan on it. :D

You are a wise man, mah dear. They blow chunks...

strandinthewind 04-20-2005 07:08 PM

I LOVED the first one and thought the next two were okay - the prequels have all been wtretched, the last one unwatchable to me. So, I will prob. wait to see the final one on cable. But, I may go one rainy Sunday - ya never know.

ryan8472 04-20-2005 08:38 PM

I want to see Ep. III. I always liked Star Wars. And oh yeah, Hayden and Natalie are HOT.

ShamHy89 04-20-2005 08:46 PM

I liked the old Star Wars movies. The new ones didn't impress me but I plan on giving Episode III a try.

And Natalie Portman is hot.

Ep. I and II were really campy and a bit lame, but I think Ep.II might just be the best zero-substance eye candy I've ever seen in my life.

And Hayden and Natalie are still hot. Hayden a little more, because he's like, dark and brooding and all, and Padme (Natalie) can be a bitch sometimes.

You got that right

I am so there. I have been watiting for this installment for years. Can't wait to see Anakin kick Obi Wan's ass. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sick of Ewan MacGregor as a bearded Obi Wan. Ugh. Couldn't they have found someone better and less annoying?

I'm also really intrigued by the plot of this last one...and I'm curious as to how Anakin is going to finish his transformation from a troubled young Jedi into Darth Vader. It's the ultimate pitting of good against evil and Anakin's inner turmoil is going to produce some yummy brooding looks from Hayden ~swoon~. I also can't wait for another Yoda fight scene. Loves me some Yode. I wish there was a Yoda emoticon to really punctuate that.

I cannot stand Ewan MacGregor. I think the only movies I've actually liked that he was in are Shallow Grave and Moulin Rouge (what a perfect movie!). Oh, and Little Voice, I love that one, too. I get annoyed by him being bare ass and showing his wang off in practically every movie. It ain't that special. I still remember suffering through The Pillow Book and sitting in absolute misery as I watched Velvet Goldmine. He needs to go far away. -_-

Yeah, Velvet Goldmine. LOVE that movie...for all the obvious reasons of course and I'm sure you know what they are ;)
What I didn't like about that movie was Christian Bale  and Ewan M. Now as you may or may not know, I ADORE Christian Bale but his character in Velvet Goldmine seriously made me want to vomit. I don't know what it was about him...he just seriously got under my skin. And I NEVER want to see Ewan MacGregor in eye make-up or pantsless again for as long as I live!

Christian Bale is so pretty to look at, which is why I puked when I saw him in The Machinist. Stay faaaaaaar away from that one. I love him and I ADORE ADORE ADORE Jennifer Jason Leigh, so I was pumped to see it, but I literally couldn't even look at him because he was so disgusting.

Nope, sorry. The Brandon Flowers mention totally ruined the fantasy. :P

I've seen it!! He is a total dreamboat--but not in that movie. Blech. He's an amazingly talented actor so of course he pulled that role off with no problem and it's also nice to see that he doesn't mind suffering for his art, but please Christian do not lose that much weight again. Now the American Psycho bod I'll take any day. Damn he was hot in that movie. Too bad he played a murdering misogynist.

He isn't that bad. Ya know, the only famous person's phone number that Brandon has is that of Alex Kapranos. :p

I actually repulsed myself when watching that movie. He's chasing some chick down a hallway butt ass naked, wielding a chainsaw, and all I could think was Gee, he can chase after me like that any day of the week.

Back off, sister, he's mine. :xoxo:

Anyway, huge SW fan, etc, midnight showing on may 18th, I'll be there with the crew, the whole bit.

But I will be in regular street clothes. No Princess Leia buns or double-sided lightsabers for this chick. I saw enough of that at the Epi II midnight showing.

The last 3 Batman movies destroyed what little interest I had in Batman.

Hell, I wanted to BE Batman when I was little, and my pre-school teacher kept telling me it wasn't a real job. But that interest was based on the 1st two movies.

That's great, but there will still be thin lips. I'm sure I'll love it, except for thin lipped rat face guy. If I find myself thinking otherwise about him, I'll be the first to let you know. Batman Returns. <3 I thought that was the BEST one. It was pitch black and I loved it.

Batman Forever was unwatchable, but I watched it for my darling Nicole Kidman.

No no, Batman Returns was one of the most kick ass movies of the decade. I agree, it's actually a really good movie. Ya know, for a super hero flick. I meant the last 2 ~ Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.

yeah, he is a bit, but...I dunno, I just think he's sexy. Like the cheekbones and the teeth, but I think it is mostly his acting, and the intelligence in his eyes.
