What is your favorite designer?

Fav clothing brand/designer?

I'm planning on going to Orlando and doing some shopping tomorrow after school so I have clothes on the mind!

DrummerDeanna 04-18-2005 09:11 AM

Sorry - but it should read, "WHO is your favorite designer" not what.....:D

anyway I don't have one :p

Have fun shopping :wavey:

greatdarkwing 04-18-2005 09:58 AM

I'm a rich kid, and a new skinny person so my opinions might be "skewed"

I tend to enjoy Alfani, Calvin Klein, and INC's new men clothing line.

Broke person checking in  :

NY & Co, most stuff from Target. :p

I don't keep up with designers except for staring at what celebrities wear at awards shows. In that case, I love Carolina Hererra (sp) & Vera Wang.

strandinthewind 04-18-2005 11:58 AM

Prada - without exception - for cool and hip casual - followed closely by Boss.

Brioni, Oxford, and Hickey Freeman for dressier stuff like sports coats and suits

Ralph Lauren and plain ole Gap - for cool everyday stuff.

The important thing to remember is what flatters your body. I LOVE some designers, but they do not cut for my body type.

Target has way cool tshirts. I am not wild about their dressier stuff as it tends not to fit me well.

I don't look at labels......since most of my clothes don't have them cuz I buy second hand from Gabes and Goodwill.

hi grandpa sweaters! :wavey:

wondergirl9847 04-18-2005 12:08 PM

Don't have one...

I don't go by brand names, I try on clothes, if I don't look fat or stupid, I buy it! I also shop at Tarjay (Target for those not as sophisticated as me. LMAO!), and found some terrific pants there (Mossimo, I think they are), they are stretchy and fit me perfectly. I'm short and have a swayback so I need jeans that fit right...everywhere. I love Foleys too, they have great stuff there!

I just went on a major shopping spree a few weeks ago and bought lots of new shirts and 4 pairs of pants. I went crazy nuts at Foleys (got 10% off by getting a credit card!). Some stuff was major cheap, and I splurged a bit on some other things.

I wear Adidas tennis shoes mostly, but as for designers, I just wear whatever fits right.

I found a new routine that cuts down on the # of crunches but maximizes the effect.

I usually don't look at brands for my clothing, but as idea of fashion in general I love Armani and Yohjiy Yamamoto.

golddustwoman77 04-18-2005 06:22 PM

I just love Anna Sui clothing. She is by far my favorite designer.

WelshWitchPMD 04-18-2005 10:14 PM

I don't have a fav. I just get what I like and what fits and what is on sale.

xdreamsunwindx 04-18-2005 10:14 PM

I love L.A.M.B by Gwen Stefani, but since I am neither skinny or rich, I can't afford it. I basically buy whatever looks cute, fits, and what I can afford. I live in Old Navy jeans and vintage band shirts, hoodies and chuck taylors. I'm all about comfort, but when I get dressed up, I like Charlotte Russe. Target's stuff is the ****, and I love some of the stuff from KMart. I like Lip Service dresses for shows/parties, and for school, I like Byer. I'm a loser, I know. -_-

GardenStateGirlie 04-18-2005 10:16 PM

I'm a fan of mixing it up...I hate head to toe anything. A few nice deisgner items in my closet but nothing that I wouldn't pair with some GAP jeans. I'm a fan of Kenneth Cole. His designs are clean and classic but sexy as hell. I also love Max Azria and the BCBG line. Other than that, there's a lot of designers I love but currently, are totally out of my league as far as purchasing is concerned.

sara1998 04-18-2005 10:21 PM

I like Levi's and Tommy jeans. I don't give a damn who makes the shirts, as long as I like 'em and they fit. I buy a lot of my little one's stuff at Target and Old Navy. Sometimes, because I love to buy for her so much, I splurge on her and go to Limited Too, Gap (whose jeans I despise since I can't fit 'em) and some Tommy. That's about as high fashion as I go. I like Nike's, and I never buy any sunglasses unless they're Oakleys.

Me, too. My income, nor my parents', have never, ever, been in the realm of designers. therefore, I don't think about it much. I am lucky, and was lucky, if I could buy clothes.(I had 2 pairs of pants in sixth grade! boy, that was sure awesome! :D ) BUT - I have noticed things on TV I like. I don't always remember, though. Vera Wang comes to mind. Armani. I like things without too much going on, classic, flattering lines. Exception - Bob Mackey and Cher. love it, love it, love it. I'm fond of the simple dress with outstanding strap/neckline. Or the super flattering clean shape, with something a bit unusual going on in the cut. I hate flouncy stuff, and just stuff with too much going on in general. Black is great. That skin tone/beige thing can be great, as well.

I'd rather cut off a toe than go clothes shopping so these were all purchased in one day and were simply the closest within reach that fit me. I wouldn't have a clue what brand they are. So my favourite designer is whoever designed my singlet. I doubt this helped in any way.

It helped me, in the way that I love how someone else doesn't give two flying effs about designers... :D Whether you simply don't care, or can't afford it, I don't mind either way. :) However, I do admit to much vanity, so I really, really, try to get stuff at Ross that looks good on me.  And, lo and behold, it is possible. I do look good in my clothes, wonder of wonders.

I know - I go to the outlet malls around here to buy stuff. I usually wait until the end of the year sales, etc. Every now and then, I go a little crazy like with the fab. coat I bought in Dec. when my 10 year old other car coat died  But, that is failrly rare and it is Marshalls for me

Mad4stevie 04-18-2005 10:51 PM

Ralph Lauren . . . at Marshalls or TJ Maxx.

It's always nice when you can have some good pieces. I always have this weird feeling, when I go to interviews, that the practiced eye may be able to tell I'm wearing a cheap jacket... But even ross gets some good designers for cheap, and Marshalls, etc. I got my new interview jacket at ross for 16 something, but they couldn't find the pricetag, and didn't care. I have the feeling it was a more expensive one. Looks sharp! hehehehe.

I have gotten things there for like $10 that cost hundreds at Macy's etc. Better in my pocket than their's

I wear whatever is comfortable and affordable. In fact, I just bought a cool shirt for 3 bucks and I love the sucker!

Sweeeeet. And especially my pockets which don't even contain what Macy's would ask! They can look, but it aint there...

greatdarkwing 04-18-2005 11:02 PM

You couldn't keep my girlfriend out of the Coach store w/ a brick wall! And might I add, that because of this, my bank account has never been thinner :( She can shop at Coach all she wants when Fleetwood Mac/ La Nicks retire

The point is to look like a million bucks without having spent it ;) I have the worst luck with Marshalls and the like. I never get there when things are first put out so i'm left with the crap sizes that don't fit me. It's hit or miss there.
