Got $9,000? Then Lindsey's guitar could be yours!
One of the guitars he played on the 2004 tour is up for sale on eBay.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...316115516&rd=1 It's a lot of money but it sure is nice! |
Hang on, let me just grab my checkbook....
|
I would cream in my jeans if someone got that guitar for me.

SYW Model 1's..
Rick made 3 of those sunburst M1's for Lindsey. I know at least 1 of them got sent back (possibly two of them) and Rick sent one out to Guitar Hangar to sell. This is the third one. the "7" on the back of the headstock is consistent with the markings used on the SYW tour, being the 7th Model 1 used.
Lindsey set off with 4 Turners (1979-1997 versions) and gained another one (A 2003 model in red mahogany) which was used mainly for World Turning. One of the originals met it's demise at Earl's Court on 29th November 2003 and so was replaced with a sixth standard one. So the 7th Turner, the sunburst one would make sense.. $9000 is not a bad price for it really, it looks pretty nice for it's abused past!! BUT I wouldn't pay that much for it, the price I paid for a standard M1 was quite enough!!   |
Looks like its been relisted at a reduced price. Maybe if nobody bids eventually one of us can get it for free!

Bwah!
I got an idea!!! Just kidding, but let me tell ya'll this.
A couple of years ago, me and some other Justin Guarini fans bid on a pair of Adidas sneakers he wore on the American Idol tour (he had signed them too). It was for a charity auction. We took turns having them for a few days to take around our cities and take pics of the shoes seeing various sights. It was a fun project and one of the ladies is taking all our photos and making a scrapbook for Justin of the shoe's adventures. Another plan we had was making a scrapbook and putting that and the shoes back up for charity auction for the American Cancer Society (we lost two of our message board ladies to cancer over the past few years. :( ). Some of the ladies also took the shoes to Kentucky when Justin did a show for a radio station and he signed them again....personalizing it for us ladies of Justin's House. If this item weren't an expensive guitar, but something cool that FM wore/played, that would be a neat idea for the Ledgies to do. :) The adventures of Lindsey's v-neck tee shirt. LMAO!!! |
I dunno.
Why pay 3x's as much for a beat up USED guitar, when for 1/3 of the price you can have Rick Turner make one SPECIFICALLY for you? |

Gerald, that is BRILLIANT!! We have to take pics of us pretending to smash it like he did that night in London.
I can play Soul Drifter and Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head on my acoustic, so I might be able to pluck the notes on that Turner. |

Guitars!
Well I think you'd have to look at it from different angles. I'm a musician, so if I shelled out the cash for that guitar, I'd be tempted to play it even though Lindsey owned it. Personally I dont think it would be worth that amount unless Lindsey himself "sold" it to me.
From another view, if you were simply a collector who wasnt a musician, it would make sense to pay that amount. Besides, I think I'd rather have a refurbished, or near mint original Rick Turner from the early 1980s. Those particular instruments are probably more "valuable" than the one played by Lindsey just because of the age and rarity. Then again, I think I WOULD pay a large amount for one of Lindsey's vintage models. |
