The videos you have never seen.

according to saintbernard ledgie, this is the list of formal mac videos:

1979 (Tusk):
Tusk

1982 (Mirage):
Gypsy
Hold Me

1987 (Tango in the Night):
Big Love
Everywhere
Family Man
Little Lies
Seven Wonders

1990 (Behind the Mask):
In the Back of My Mind
Save Me
Skies the Limit

2003 (Say You Will):
Peacekeeper
Say You Will (I think there was a video for this song. Or am I thinking of the AOL Sessions thing?)

Miscellaneous:
As Long As You Follow (1988)
Love Shines (1992)
Paper Doll (1992)

Now, what videos have you never seen? Or even know they exist?
My list:
Family Man
In the Back of My Mind

WildInTheWind 04-07-2005 07:02 PM

I've never seen any of the behind the mask videos. I may have them though, but I don't think I've watched them yet.

Hawkeye 04-07-2005 07:14 PM

The only ones I HAVE seen in full are:

Tusk
As Long As You Follow
Peacekeeper

Never seen:

Everywhere
Family Man - Didn't even know one existed.
In the Back of My Mind - "
Love Shines - "

Also, there were videos for Sara (from Tusk) and Silver Springs and Landslide (from The Dance). They were just clips from the Tusk Doc and The Dance, but they did show them on the "music" channels... And were there no videos at all from Time?

sodascouts 04-07-2005 09:53 PM

Never Seen:

Family Man (there's a video for this?!)
In the Back of My Mind
As Long As You Follow

dissention 04-07-2005 10:02 PM

The video for Family Man is atrocious. Basically just stock footage of impoverished families and children strung together with the song playing in the background. I'ts not even worth seeking out, IMO.

xxxmx 04-07-2005 10:05 PM

Family Man as a song is atrocious, i can't believe they made a video for it... wouldn't you love that to be on your creds?

There isn't even a single band member in it.

I am with Nancy - I can't believe there is a video for this nightmarish song. Maybe LB paid to have it done, who knows?

I haven't seen it (obviously) and I haven't seen In the Back of My Mind, either.

Alexbt 04-07-2005 10:21 PM

I have seen:

1979 (Tusk):
Tusk

1982 (Mirage):
Gypsy
Hold Me

1987 (Tango in the Night):
Big Love
Everywhere (Some of it? There are also two versions of this)
Little Lies

2003 (Say You Will):
Peacekeeper
Say You Will (I think?)

Miscellaneous:
As Long As You Follow (1988)

Hawkeye 04-07-2005 11:19 PM

Ehhh, I can't stand all the family man bashing that goes on here. The song is very far from a nightmarish song. It's more like the best song on Tango in the Night.

Actually that's not entirely true. Well, unless there's an alternate version out there.
The video I've seen consists of stock footage, as you said, AND clips of the band lifted directly from the "Seven Wonders" video. They didn't even use outtake footage!

I still wonder if the "Family Man" video is really "official," or if it was just something that was slapped together by the Australian branch of MTV to represent what I'm told was a big hit single there.

That's going some! But, then, I think "When I See You Again" is the best song on the album... so I'm not one to talk.

I do love "Family Man" though. I've thought it was a terrific little song from the first time I heard it, and I never tire of it.

wondergirl9847 04-07-2005 11:51 PM

I've seen them all

Family Man the song - awesome, love it, the guitar is phenom.

Family Man the video - Blergh.

The best songs on Tango in the Night....Tango in the Night/Little Lies.

Runners up: Isn't It Midnight and Big Love.

macfan 57 04-08-2005 06:00 AM

The only videos on that list that I've never seen are:

Family Man
Peacekeeper
Say You Will

I'd never heard that there was a video for "Family Man". Considering the way everyone is describing this video, I don't think it's worth it for me to look into trying to find it.

My favorite videos that I've seen are:

Little Lies
Hold Me
Love Shines
Gypsy

Mari 04-08-2005 06:16 AM

Where's the vid for Sara? (live footage from the tusk doc, but still)

my list:

Skies the Limit
Peacekeeper (eeh... maybe I've it on my computer though)
Say You Will (dito)
Love Shines (not sure about this one, I might have it on a tape somewhere)
Paper Doll

(edit: from Dis's description I recognize Family Man, I háve seen it)

Vianna 04-08-2005 06:46 AM

I've never seen Love Shines. Didn't even know it existed. I've seen the others.

Everywhere is the same way. I saw it for the first time on VH1 Classic a few months ago & was like WTH?

I've never seen:

Paper Doll
In the Back of My Mind
Love Shines
Family Man

golddustwoman77 04-08-2005 09:40 AM

I have seen them all, except for :
Paper Doll
In the Back of My Mind
Love Shines
Family Man

From what you guys have said about "Family Man" I shouldn't bother. :p

Nope, there's no Seven Wonders footage in my version. Must be different ones out there, but it doesn't matter because they both suck in the end.

Ditto.

And, I've never seen Seven Wonders...I've been trying to catch it on vh1 classics, but so far, no luck.

My favorite is Hold Me. :)

Dark Angel 04-08-2005 01:59 PM

Say You Will
If there's a video for this, this is the only one I haven't seen.

Wow, the one I have is about 55% footage from "Seven Wonders" and about 45% stock footage. Isn't that weird!?!

So not only is there ONE crappy version of this video -- there's TWO!

I'm thinking, though, that the version you have would at least be preferable to the one I have, as it's not just a glorified re-tread of "Seven Wonders."

There are two versions of the "Everywhere" video, too. One is strictly storyline, the other has a few shadowy images of Christine, Mick and John superimposed over some of the footage.

estranged4life 04-08-2005 02:10 PM

Well...

one advantage to trading DVD's is that now I have seen most of the videos except for the following:

In the Back of My Mind
Love Shines
Family Man

(Just saw the videos for "Save Me" & "Skies the Limit" on the "Mirage Compilation 1982" DVD I am burning for a fellow Ledgie!!!)

SteveMacD 04-08-2005 04:44 PM

One suggestion for those with high-speed internet: Yahoo has a special video search engine. I've found lots of videos with it, including "Peacekeeper" and "Love Shines." Personally, I still haven't seen the videos for Everywhere, Family Man, In The Back Of My Mind, or Say You Will.

Serrart 04-08-2005 06:48 PM

I've never seen:
Family Man
In The Back Of My Mind
Love Shines

Till few days ago I hadn't watched As Long As You Follow either, but I've discovered that one of my chiefs loves FM and he had the video in his collection. It was funny, because after it, in a random order came Landslide from The Dance and he asked me if I knew what it was, and I was like: "Yeah, I think I've seen it a couple of times''. :p

You? Are crazy! That album is all about Christine. She saves it.

Anyway, I haven't seen either video from the SYW album. The only Behind the Mask video I've seen is "Save Me," but I hardly remember it. I haven't seen "Love Shines," "Everywhere," "Tusk," "Paper Doll," "Skies the Limit," or "Family Man." I think that's it. Josh description makes me interested to see the video for "Family Man," as I can't imagine what kind of bizarre experience it would be to see that footage accompanied by that music.

Have to agree, that video gives you a warm fuzzy feeling (aside from the weird carnival type folks interspersed throughout...not a big fan of them.) Chris looks incredibly relaxed and gorgeous. They all do, really. ;)

And, Chris is wearing some very cool shades too. All four of them looked like they were having fun.

Yeah, and I wish those four would have done an album. I think Billy and Christine had something special.

Is everyone sure there is a video for SYW, the song? I thought the only SYW video was peacekeeper...

estranged4life 04-10-2005 03:05 PM

The SYW video does exist...

it is included on the DVD version I own of the VH-1 broadcast of "Destiny Rules + Extras"; It is basically a live version on a soundstage during a rehearsal (Very similar to the live video of "Peacekeeper", Which look to have been shot at the exact same rehearsal.)

HollywoodSteve 04-11-2005 05:54 PM

All this talk about videos has got me thinking about that petition to have all these clips released on DVD...anyone know the status of that?
