Guilty Pleasures Thread number...who knows.

I love Who's the Boss.

Anyone else watch this on Nick and Nite??

Janet 04-07-2005 01:43 AM

What about Chasing Farrah?

Anyone watch this?

HomerMcvie 04-07-2005 02:55 AM

I like Three's Company, and Roseanne. Both of which I didn't care much for, in their initial runs, but now, I guess, kinda take me back to childhood.

sara1998 04-07-2005 05:04 AM

I like dog shows. And Jimmy Neutron.

I'm most out of the loop and never have much to contribute unless it relies solely on brain processes (I don't imply any certain quality of such processes), particularly in relation to outright insults directed at others. My point is, can I just contribute and ignore the television-related element? Good, thankyou. Well then, what I said above.

  What she said, though I do have a TV, I really only use it to watch "The Daily Show," occasional CNN to see if I'm missing something that's going on, and local stuff so I can laugh at how utterly stupid so many of the people in my area are.

Okay, I do have an older TV related guilty pleasure, though. I used to watch re-runs of "Step by Step," but not because I like the show, but because I used to think Suzanne Somers was HOT. :o

Anyway, I rarely watch TV, unless it's sports/news/American Idol. If I could find re-runs of the Wonder Years I would watch them.

dissention 04-07-2005 11:24 AM

Does no one watch Murphy Brown on Nick At Night? You all suck. :p

Though that show isn't a guilty pleasure because it rawks.

When I get ready for work in the morning, I watch Saved By The Bell on TBS :o . I do watch Who's the Boss and Full House on Nick at Nite. And yes, I loved Murphy Brown when it first premiered and I still love it

cliffdweller 04-07-2005 11:46 AM

The Golden Girls, although not a "guilty" pleasure, it's a pleasure that keeps me from getting work done so it makes me feel guilty nonetheless.

skcin 04-07-2005 11:52 AM

Idol is probably a guilty pleasure - according to Diss anyway.

Dog the Bounty Hunter - I don't know why I like this show. It can't be for the fashion or hair, that's for sure.

I have been known to be hypnotized by those damn Teletubbies in the past. :p

Love South Park & Chappelle's Show.

wondergirl9847 04-07-2005 12:34 PM

I watch a crapload of TV

I grew up addicted to TV and still am, pretty much. Although, the net is trying to vye for 100% of my attention. LOL

I like Dog, the Bounty Hunter too, Airline, Family Plots, Intervention...all those A&E shows.

I love While You Were Out (used to like Trading Spaces, but don't care about it anymore.).

Love watching South Park, Chappelle's Show, Blue Collar TV, sometimes watch The Daily Show...Comedy Central is cool.

I've been watching Living Single lately in the afternoon, and I caught Andy Griffith yesterday....me and my dad love watching that.

I'm a TV junkie. LOL Also, I don't really have any guilty pleasures regarding TV, music, movies, etc. I like what I like and that's that. Whatevah.

Trading Spaces is unwatchable these days. It used to be good, but now it's utter garbage. I liked it when it was just Doug, Hildi, Gen, Vern, Laurie, Frank, Kia, and Edward.

  Oh man - when I had cable I used to watch Saved By the Bell on TBS too..and that wasn't too long ago...I was SO pissed when they took it off and put Dawson's Creek on in the morning - it ruined my mornings

I also watch Full House when it's on :o - def. a guilty pleasure

diamondsnake 04-07-2005 02:54 PM

Passions, the most insane soap opera in the world. Although the show isn't much of a pleasure anymore since it sucks now...

Yup. Those were the days. I like Gen & Laurie best. The new season's starting & apparently there's no host? I heard Paige was leaving, but no replacement? Whatev...

I'm a whore for home decorating/improvement shows. My current faves are Clean Sweep (inspires me not to have so much useless crap laying around my tiny house) and In a Fix (hated it at first, but I like it a lot now.) I also like Suprise By Design & While You Were Out.

Has anyone seen Househunters? LOVE that show! It just pisses me off that they never show prices!

And Christy - Airline is great!

Mythbusters & the Food Network's "Unwrapped" are two more I like.

wondergirl9847 04-07-2005 03:06 PM

Oh lawd...

I love all those shows you mentioned here. On Unwrapped, Marc is sometimes filmed at Heritage Square at Notz Landing (a cute lil diner in Golden, Colorado) and when I see he's there I go "OMG, I've eaten there!!" I'm lame. LOL

Clean Sweep...OMG, I wanna slap people on that show. Sesly, it's almost like that show "How Clean is Your House?" or something with those two British ladies. The houses are disgusting. Gross!!

Airline is terrific! I always miss that dang show though. Some people, I swear. LOL

amber 04-07-2005 03:06 PM

Wait - no one has any guilty pleasures besides what they watch on TV?! Amazing. Well, at least everyone feels guilty about watching so much, or so crappy, or whichever.
I feel guilty when I lay on my bed, read, and eat cheetos if i'm supposed to be doing something else. ok, mainly for eating the cheetos, but still.
Oh, and with no Cable - America's Next Top Model, of course, is my guilty pleasure. I really shouldn't be watching that, but I just can't help it. :D
Another guilty pleasure is telling guys who go "Heeeeey!! Damn! Hey!! How you doin', baby?" when i'm walking or blading down the street to "F**** OFF, AHOLE!!!!!" hehehehehehe. yup.

NaiveMelody23 04-07-2005 03:08 PM

I dont watch television at all, but i like to watch "Strangers with Candy" it's so dumb and random it makes it exciting.

That sounds a bit like my ultimate and most recent guilty pleasure--sitting at the computer (usually on The Ledge), eating white cheddar Cheetos, and drinking several glasses of red wine. Oh yeah.

Paige should be the poster child for ritalin. Talk about obnoxious. And Gen's new show "Town Haul" is pretty good, I like it. Doug's new show, however, is atrocious. Such a hot guy, such a bad show.

The only similarity I see is the blonde hair. You're definitely better looking than Suzanne Somers. And have y'all seen her recently? She's just scary-looking these days. (Suzanne, I mean--not Krista).

I haven't seen these white cheddar cheetos! you don't mean Cheez It's, right?
Ah, yes, that is fun. I've stopped drinking, though, basically, in a more concentrated effort to lose weight - thus the guilt over eating Cheetos. I maybe drink now about once a week.

wondergirl9847 04-07-2005 03:17 PM

Oh..

I thought we were just talking about TV. LOL

Well, I am surfing the net instead of working....so....I feel a bit guilty about that. I'm just not in the mood today. :( We have tons of work, I just don't wanna do it today. LOL

I love to snack and surf....chips, nachos, chocolate, Coke, whatever. I'm a junk food junkie also.

I don't care for Town Haul too much. It's ah-ight. Moving Up is Doug's new one - I like seeing what people have done to their homes after they move in, but I hate when they ask the old owners what they think. WTF do you think they're gonna say, moron? Of course they won't like it, if they did it would have looked like that when they lived there! ;)

Amber - you're right, I do have other guilty pleasures besides TV. One would be when I have an entire day to do nothing - I sit around, watch movies (or Mac/Stevie boot videos), eat, lay around & accomplish nothing at all. :)

catinthedark 04-07-2005 03:42 PM

Guilty pleasures... ah.. the best kind to indulge in...

TV-wise... I'd have to say What Not to Wear (OMG, they can be EVIL!! I love it) and Surreal Life (just because it's utter crap, but utterly entertaining utter crap).

Truth be told... coming here is absolutely a guilty pleasure. None of my friends love FM or SN (though my best friend is incredibly supportive of my spending too much money on concerts), so I come here to dish and get the gossip. I love it. Total guilty pleasure.

Music-wise... oh, the list is endless.... right now I have two of the songs from Wicked on my playlist, playing over and over and over. How much more of a guilty pleasure can you find than broadway tunes?

I'm sure I have more...

Yeah, there are white cheddar cheetos! They're heavenly! I usually drink two nights a week, which is a lot for someone who used to not drink at all!

Is it true that Passions had a chimpanzee nurse? I saw a segment on Best Week Ever about the chimp's farewell and couldn't believe that was real.

Pisces Queen 04-07-2005 04:27 PM

My guilty pleasures happen when the husband is at school. He hogs the remote so much that when he's gone it's a free-for-all for VH-1 classic videos, HGTV, and the soap channel. Re-runs of Knots Landing and Melrose Place are the best!! :p  :p

I enjoy A&E alot - my fav is probably American Justice. They always have some screwed up story on there.

Blue Collar TV is hillarious! GIT-R-DONE!!!  I live in the middle of red neck central, so I find these jokes particularly amusing.

I also love to watch Antiques Roadshow - the only thing that I watch on PBS.

martha stewart weddings! it's the ultimate for me. i went out and picked up the new one yesterday, opened a bottle of beaujolais nouveau, lit a candle, and just loved everything for two hours... just because there's no husband doesn't mean that there's no dream!

the one and only thing i use my tv for is Survivor and dvds. my fave guilty pleasure movie is Top Gun which usually leads to a whole other category of guilty pleasure

bikerchic 04-07-2005 08:21 PM

The Young & the Restless, Oprah, Entertainment Tonite, (or any entertainment show) and Ellen Degeneres. I am a Celebrity junkie!

Gwillaker 04-07-2005 09:55 PM

I enjoy "cheese metal" music. You know the spandexy type of heavy metal, but its strictly in a spirit of good fun. I dont take it seriously on any other level. :sorry:

In my defence though, I listen to plenty of proper heavy metal, as well as other great stuff like (duh!) Fleetwood Mac.

Oh, and I just watched Dr. Phil. As a bloke I'm not supposed to do that :o

I can't watch Surreal Life though. I don't get that, it just seems sad to me, not entertaining.

Eating is a major one for me. I just love to indulge. But I don't keep crap in my house so that helps. I do have to have chocolate every day though. :D Food is love, man.
