What tv/movie character are you identified with?

In my case, most of the time I'm identified with Chandler Bing from Friends.
And you?

Hawkeye 03-30-2005 06:14 PM

I've been described as being just like Kramer from Seinfeld. But I see myself as Robert Barone.

estranged4life 03-30-2005 06:18 PM

Hmmm...

I would say one-half "Randall" from the movie "Clerks" and one-half "Wayne Campbell" from "Wayne's World"

DrummerDeanna 03-30-2005 06:20 PM

Because of my competetiveness and cleanliness - Monica from Friends.

GODDESS6 03-30-2005 06:24 PM

phoebe from friends~

xdreamsunwindx 03-30-2005 06:51 PM

Darlene from Roseanne, or Jane from Daria.

amber 03-30-2005 06:53 PM

when i was young, Kirstey from cheers.
then Elaine from seinfeld
various other random ones that i've forgotten.
Yay. Oh, and separate, independent people compared me to Gwen when I was younger. I really don't get that. I think they said something about my expressions, but I really am not sure what it was all about.

bikerchic 03-30-2005 07:43 PM

In my younger days, Baby from "Dirty Dancing" and now sometimes Rachel from "Friends", only because I used to have the "Rachel" haircut and because I kind of dress like her, I don't know, I guess I dress young for my age.

I have no idea. Pick any eccentric, loudmouth harridan you want.

dreamongypsydkm 03-30-2005 08:06 PM

I have come to be known as one Joey Potter, from Dawson's Creek.

Your father was accused of being Basil? Your father ran a cafe? There's so much I do not know.

sparky 03-30-2005 08:25 PM

No character, but last night someone finally made a celebrity comparison that I thought worked. Randomly, people have said I look like Keanu, and I don't see it. But last night, a friend's wife said I looked like a Spanish Keanu Reeves. That, I can kinda see. And talk about flattered. Sheesh.

Anyhoo, yes my father had some sort of mid-life crisis and one day quit his job as.....whatever it was, I always thought he was an air traffic controller but then I think it turned out he was in charge of the systems that ran the air traffic control. Bleh whatever, I have a memory was watching Full House from the top of that tower, oh and those big rooms with all the radars were cool, I thought it was some sort of secret intelligence thing. But he quit one day, bought a cafe, found that customer service is no place for Nazis and pissed off to the country.....and then came back *sigh*. That's your little lesson about Lux for the day.

He had a tendency to piss off and have arguments with half of the customers and randomly decide he adored the other half, not leaving them alone until they managed to squeeze out the door. The ones he didn't like were named "Oi!!". I remember one of the last days he had it, I had to come out and calm down a verbal yelling match that was about to turn into some sort of punch-up. But this is my father we're talking about, not your average 'bloke'.

Thanks for my lesson. I do need to know these things, you know. Now your lesson: My father is an attorney. I might have already told you that. He is the City Attorney of Brea, Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, La Mirada, Los Angeles, and Buena Park. Which means he travels a lot and goes to court fighting for a city's water, real estate, business rights, etc. That's all I know. I've been to his office a few times, which just a lot of Lennon paintings and pictures of his children. I like it anyway.

No, I don't identify with her. Well, I do identify with Joey in a lot of ways. When that show came out, I was exactly like Joey. The mannerisms she used for that show are like mine as well. I do a lot with her Wonder Boys character too, and the Ice Storm one, although that character wasn't exactly developed in the movie. Both good films, by the way.

LilyRose 03-30-2005 08:44 PM

When I was a teenager it was Rachel from "Friends" because I was a spoiled brat (well maybe I still am), but now it's Karen from "Will and Grace". Damn proud of it.

Heh, I forget about the Zimmerman thing, and then it shocks me every time I remember it. My father just told me another cool story yesterday. Although I'm not a fan of Sonny and Cher, I found it cool. When my dad and his ex-wife were having their second daughter (my older sister, she's about 35), Sonny and Cher were having their daughter Chastity next door. My dad was hanging out with Sonny Bono, and said he was an asshole. Apparently he liked Cher though. Anyway, cool story I thought.

Aww, that's so sweet that you watched Wonder Boys just for me. Thank you! Weird story actually: the other day I was actually in the middle of getting laid (can I say that on the Ledge?) and VH1 classic was on in the background, and Led Zeppelin came on and I for a moment thought of you. VERY WEIRD. Ordinarily, it would just turn me on more. But no, I thought of you. I apologize if that story disturbs you. It was extremely inconvenient for me.

Oh, and also I would chat with you right now but I'm in the middle of a fierce battle for U2 tickets on eBay.

A friend of mine all of a sudden was continually getting comments about how much he looked like Hayden Christiansen. Everyone, my mother and sister (no idea how my mother knew who that was.....), his relatives, his mother and there were other odd people. The problem here is that he has somewhat of a celebrity crush on Hayden Christiansen and so whenever this is mentioned it's disturbing to the point of shuddering. He has a small picture on his wall for the occasional indulgence and it's not pleasant to have someone point at it and say "it's you!".

Scott? Because he definitely does.

Me too! I've had 2 people in the past month tell me that.

Could I BE any more annoying???

tynan88 03-30-2005 11:00 PM

Somehow even though I am a guy I am compared to Karen from Will and Grace.

Livia 03-30-2005 11:03 PM

So I've been told:

Lilith from Cheers/Frasier

Annie Potts - Designing Women, can't remember her character's name on that show....

Elaine from Seinfeld

All classic characters. Though I'm partial to Lilith because I adore Bebe Neuwirth.

Annie Potts was Mary Jo Shively, BTW.

Not so much Annie Potts on that show, just Annie Potts in general! I loved her in Pretty in Pink and Ghostbusters! My friend Zirko swears that she and I were separated at birth!

:D

Annie Potts has always cracked me up. Her short stature and squeaky voice get me every time. Loved her on Designing Women and that short-lived series she had with Tim Curry.

all the same 03-30-2005 11:27 PM

Oh God! I've been told Andy Dick! Andy Dick?!!! What the f**k? Could there be a lamer human being? The other one I've had is Napoleon Dynomite. This one I'm okay with but I don't really agree with it. My eyes are fully open at all times and I generally keep my mouth closed.

Miss Vicky 03-31-2005 12:49 AM

The cartoon character Daria. It seemed like everybody in high school compared me to her. It's a good thing I loved that show.

CelticGypsy 03-31-2005 01:11 AM

I love Jackie from That 70's Show and Karen from Will and Grace. I think I resemble them in looks and I tend to be bossy, witty and take life as it comes. Unfortunately, I think I am too much like a Marie Osmond type, the goodie-two-shoes type of gal and been told this too many times. I would like to be wild in my next life ala Miss Nicks

David 03-31-2005 12:21 PM

Fred Mertz

wondergirl9847 03-31-2005 12:40 PM

Lol

I've been told I resemble Daria also. In fact, a guy I used to work with drew a picture of me as Daria. LOL

I don't know which character resembles me the most, I have traits from lots of characters, I guess. Perhaps someone who knows me could answer that.

I'm nerdy sort of, quiet until you get to know me, funny sometimes, can be sarcastic, tomboy-ish and boring.

Now I relate to Allison from Medium as far as home life and relationship with husband. I use to relate to Bridget from Bridget Jones Diary. I remember seeing that movie on DVD and thought someone has taken my life and adapted it to the big screen.

I've gotten the Lilith thing in the past only because I used to remain stone faced all the time. My friend at work called me Lillith because I was so expressionless. This was a defense mechanism I developed so that no one would know what I was thinking/feeling at home. Thank God I am not like that anymore! Lilith rocks though.

A few people have called me Grace cuz I'm silly like that. I sort of look like her too, round face, big eyes, heart-shaped mouth. No red hair though.

I identified with what's her face from My So Called Life because she was always so miserable, that was me. Plus she liked to hang out with offbeat peeps even though she was kinda normal, also me. Had crush on unattainable guy, me. Etc.

I don't know, I guess for me the closest is Grace right now. My roommate says it's my expressions more than anything that are like her. "That was so Grace".

Oh yeah, I forgot about Bridgette. When she's obsessing over her weight, and drinking wine, and singing by herself. I didn't identify with any of it!

madformac 03-31-2005 05:18 PM

I got likened to Jerry Seinfeld by a fellow Ledgie not long ago, mainly due to my ability to keep a calm head when others lose theirs, then totally freak out over something trivial...

Been likened to a few british tv stars when I was younger too.. Ross Kemp mainly (Although I just shaved my head back then, he's a real bald dude...)

Oh my, I am the male equivalent of Bridget Jones. I make such an ass out of myself like that and do the most embarrassing things without even realizing it. When Mark Darcy told her "You have an air of ridiculousness to you," I thought he was talking to me.

I'm never told I look like anyone. People say my long hair reminds them of country star Crystal Gayle, although very few know her name!!!

Some (a lot) say my attitude is VERY Janeane Garofalo-like because of the cynicism, but that was back in high school.

After being exposed to the show Friends for 10 years, I have developed a very Phoebe-like flightiness, mixed with a Chandler-like comedy. Unfortunately I remember every funny thing I hear on that show and add it to my vocabulary!

When I saw Monster with Charlize Theron, who put on 30 pounds to play the role, there's a scene where she's undressed and her figure looked eerily like mine. So I guess if I hit the gym, I'll look like her normally?

When I asked my boyfriend, "Honey, who on TV/movies am I most like", he blurts out "Danny Devito!". I almost pissed myself laughing. I said "What? Why?" but he had no answer for. I am attempting to attach a photo of us "Twins".

Someone tell me who I best match with.

Moony 04-01-2005 01:41 AM

Donnie Darko
Igby Sloakam from Igby Goes Down
Enid & Rebecca from Ghost World

I think those four would sum me up pretty well :)
