Oh, Courtney.

Love to play porn star
http://www.news24.com/News24/Backpag...682166,00.html

Los Angeles - Courtney Love has agreed to play Linda Lovelace in an upcoming biopic of the infamous 70s porn star.

According to Variety the movie, called Lovelace, will be made by Jason Blum's Blumhouse Production company with Merritt Johnson as scriptwriter.

Lovelace, real name Linda Boreman, became a cult figure after starring in the 1972 porn movie Deep Throat which despite being banned in 23 US states went on to gross an estimated $600m.

The New York-born housewife, who claimed she was never paid for Deep Throat, later became a leading spokesperson for America's feminist movement and an anti-porn campaigner.

She died aged 53 in April 2002 after being injured in a car crash.

Love, 40, won acclaim for her role as porn publisher Larry Flynt's wife, Althea, in 1996's The People vs Larry Flynt.

I smell an Oscar nod. Hollywood loves that comeback ****.

I adore this woman. I don't care what anyone says.

Shut up, Amber.

Shut up, Amber.

Me, too. I'm in love with Courtney Love and I don't care who knows it. She's looking much better these days, too:

This movie should be interesting, Ron Howard has been trying to make it for years and once had Meg Ryan attached to play Lovelace.

amber 03-30-2005 02:56 PM

wow, that could be a good role.

SuzeQuze 03-30-2005 03:17 PM

Oh she definitely looks healthier. I'm also a Love fan!

For a pornstar role? In the year post Terri Schiavo and Pope's agony? They wouldn't have the courage. Even if I think that Courtney Love can be a great actress and deserved an Oscar for The people vs Larry Flint and did a wonderful job in Man On The Moon.

Of course they would. The Schiavo bull**** didn't stop them from heaping the awards on Million Dollar Baby. If Courtney pulls it off, which she probably will because she's a talented actress, they'll nominate her just for the story alone; they *love* that kind of ****.

I'm glad she's got her **** together because she is so smart and cool when she wants to be.

That solo album of hers was heinous, dear.

I still doubt it. We'll see... :)

I am so going to see that movie.

strandinthewind 03-30-2005 04:18 PM

As will the felonious La Ryder playing a loon in "Girl Interrupted" - one must wonder how much acting is involved with Love playing a drugged out slut or just a slut

I do like her though and hopr she is well and that this seemingly interesting comeback vehicle works for her.

The artwork is great. But the singing and lyrics are atrocious.

I think she is completely nuts and at times a complete train wreck but she certainly makes the world a more interesting place.

All those conspiracy theories about her killing Cobain crack me up, they're so ludicrous. But to each his own, I suppose.

She's a total train wreck, but she's fascinating, she's got balls, and she has more personality than most celebs I can think of.

golddustwoman77 03-30-2005 04:21 PM

I really like Courtney as well! She is her own person; that is for sure! I can totally see her playing Linda Lovelace. This should be an interesting film with an interesting cast.

My all time fav. of many fav.'s is when she threw her shoes at Madonna in the MTV interview tower and then hauled herself up there uninvited  Madonna's response was something like "on a lot of really good drugs?"

Yup, I remember that, which is why I cowered and kept my mouth shut.:shcoked: Hey, sorry I didn't get your back! :wavey: She really is bright. She wrote something in Kevyn Aucoin's "Making Faces" that was well-written, a prologue or something. His early death was tragic. :distress:.

Oh that was hilarious. I was sort of embarrassed for Courtney for that one. And then she falls off the chair! Not her proudest moment.

Yea I remember the lack of Love love

Interestingly, as a youngster, Kevyn Aucoin worked in my mother's hairdresser's salon in my homeotwn of Lafayette Louisiana. He was EXTREMEMLY talented even then. What a shame.

Gawd, I remember that Madonna thing on MTV. I almost lost it when Courtney went up there and started rolling aorund on the floor. Kurt Loder was just staring at her and Madonna was slyly smiling because she knew Courtney was making a fool out of herself.

strandinthewind 03-30-2005 04:45 PM

If I remember it correctly, it was when she was going into rehab the first time. But, that was awhile back and she has been back to it since.

Wow, that's neat. He was with my friend Mike's cousin, I was trying to finagle a way in there ;) Okay, not really.

I love his Making Faces book, the transformations he made were amazing. The one of Love is her as a classic starlet and she was very moved by the way he "saw" her. He really was quite a talent and quite a human being. :(

I think this is when she hit bottom, at least that particular bottom. No pun intended. The appearance was tragic but it was also very funny. Courtney managed to get the attention she was looking for and Madonna got to be the "better" star. MTV got a story. Everybody plays, everybody wins.

Yeah, but Madonna was embarrassed in a superior way....In fact, I don't really know if Madonna was even embarrassed. Oh, man, I can't think about it anymore. Oh, and last year on Letterman, that was really bad, too. Yipes...I should just watch her in movies...

I can't find a pic of Love's transformation online but here is Lisa Marie Presley as Marilyn:

I love Courtney. She may be a bit nuts, but I like her all the same. <33

I just got this book about concert photography and there are a few photos of a 16 yr old Courtney during a photo shoot. She is wearing a stripped dress and is totally hamming it up for the camera.

Did you hear what William Donahue said about Madge and Guy Itchy today?!

"It just goes to show you what a moral slug this man is that he would get dressed up as the Pope at a time like this. We're quite disappointed. We Catholics thought we had finally gotten rid of the witch when she discovered Kabbalah."

Ouch.

She is a world class nutbag, but it has been compelling to watch the spectacle she has created of herself. Pretty damned entertaining. And I do like a lot of her music. Pity she is such a foul human being, but she is certainly one of a kind. I get a big kick out of the train wreck of it all.

I remember reading an article about her trying to stay sober and she was walking around backstage at an awards show very quietly and keeping to herself instead of running around and acting like her usual self. It said that just drank soda and kept rebuffing everyone who offered her booze, and that she was getting annoyed with Anna Nicole for bugging her about partying with her that night. It toally didn't sound like the Courtney Love we know and adore.

I've loved Courtney forever..she's one of those either you love or despise people..

I have all of Hole's CDs, and I actually started to like "Americas Sweetheart" after a few listens..has some great songs..

She is doing so much better lately..she's gained massive amounts of weight, she says she's hired a trainer but hasnt put him to work yet...since according to her shes gained like 30+ lbs...but she looks much better, has her daughter back..
She'd def. play a great porn star..lol. I actually thought the Madonna thing WAS one of her proudest moments..

I think she looks fine with the extra weight, it suits her. She certianly isn't fat by any means. She was too gaunt before.
