Some more odd and end tours coming this fall!

Some more tour rumours are popping up everyday. Someone of these really catch my eye...
i/e/ Boston/Styx and Aerosmith/Van Halen :blob2: although no mention of Stevie and Don though.....

Boston Globe:
http://www.boston.com/news/globe/liv...rt_highlights/
Major acts such as Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones aren't expected until the fall, but the coming months will be flush with tours by Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Destiny's Child, String Cheese Incident, and classic-rock packages of Boston and Styx, Robert Plant and Jeff Beck, and perhaps Aerosmith and Van Halen, according to various promoters and agents.

Many tours will land at the Tweeter Center, where Oasis and Jet are confirmed for a 20th anniversary show on June 24 (already on sale). Fans can also look to the Tweeter for Green Day, the Dave Matthews Band, and Ozzfest, along with a possible date by Josh Groban and maybe a Kenny Chesney/Gretchen Wilson double bill or an Alan Jackson/Sara Evans pairing.

Yet another classic-rock tour -- featuring Bryan Adams and Def Leppard -- will play Brockton's minor-league ballpark, Campanelli Stadium, where Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson headlined last year.

The punk-oriented Vans Warped Tour will move from the Gillette Stadium parking lot to the Northampton Fairgrounds (look for an Aug. 15 date to be posted Monday on the Vans Warped website). The change is because promoter John Peters of MassConcerts was frustrated last year with his treatment by the Foxborough board of selectmen, which he says held up the show until the last minute. Gillette officials also wanted to bring it inside the stadium rather than have it in the parking lot, but Vans Warped organizers said no.

''We're going back to a place where people want it," Peters says.

Also, the WBCN River Rave, which is normally held at the Tweeter Center in June, may be pushed back or may not happen at all this summer.

''If I can't offer something that is worth the money to plunk down, then I'm not going to do it at all," says WBCN program director Dave Wellington. ''Each year it gets tougher. . . . Many groups don't like doing radio station shows because there are a lot of poorly run shows around the country and they've gotten a bad rap."

The big buzz is about a stadium show featuring Eminem, 50 Cent, and Linkin Park, but no one is yet confirming if it will come to Gillette Stadium.

Other acts expected to book Boston-area dates are Coldplay, Velvet Revolver (who plays the Mullins Center in Amherst May 3), Tool, Staind, Brian Wilson (whose website posts an Aug. 9 date at Bank of America Pavilion, formerly FleetBoston Pavilion), and another ''American Idol" tour (likely at the DCU Center in Worcester). Also of interest is a possible Audioslave/System of a Down pairing, though that's not likely until the fall.

The Mullins Center is the pits, man. I got into a fight with someone at a Smashing Pumpkins (bite me, this was the nineties) concert there once after they blew pot smoke in my face. Threw my coke right at them.

I actually might brave the tweens and see Destiny's Child. I am endlessly fascinated by Beyonce, I think she's quite a talent.

I am thinking about going too. I am sure it will be tons of fun. :)

Cool, the Plant/Beck thing sounds like a good show. And a double bill of Aerosmith/Van Halen would be huge. Not to mention U2 coming here in the fall. I guess I'll still be dishing out the cash even tho the Mac isn't touring. :p

Check out the Stevie board for my post about that.

Also I heard on the radio yesterday that Queen and Paul Rodgers will tour the US in the fall doing both Queen and Bad Company songs and maybe more.

Oh yeah-- wrapping herself in furs, showing off her big ass, and calling herself 'bootylicious' is talented alright.  Ugh, I can't stand that little (insert derogatory word here)!

Don't get me wrong, she is sexy. But talented? Absolutely not.

Yo..

Who sings lead in Van Halen these days? Is Sammy back?

Yep, it's Sammy. I saw them a couple times last year. (Even though Sammy Hagar grates on my nerves like few others).

I might try and fare Ozzfest this year, since Iron Maiden is Rumoured to be there. Seeing them with Black Sabbath on the same night would be ace.

paperdoll 03-19-2005 06:21 PM

I know I'll definately be going to see Paul McCartney. I caught him on his last tour and that was my first time seeing him. I never thought I'd get to see him ONCE in my lifetime. Getting to see him a second time is a dream come true for me. It's like getting to see FM again :) On my wish list of course is Stevie, since I've never gotten to see her solo.

Has anyone else heard anything about this Cream reunion tour that is supposed to be happening? That is something I'd like to see!

Those statements coming from a Justin Timberlake fan do not hold much weight, my dear. :p

estranged4life 03-19-2005 08:19 PM

Van Halen will not...

be touring anytime soon according to recent interviews with bassist Michael Anthony, Who has publicly said "Unless Edward cleans himself up there will be no more touring for Van Halen or any studio work".

Michael Anthony is goin' out on tour with Sammy Hagar this summer regardless of the Van Halen situation.

Only tours I am really interested in seeing (At this time) are the Judas Priest/Queensryche/Dokken (Dokken is being rumored as the opening act) tour & the upcoming 2005 Dream Theater World Tour in support of their June 28 release "Octavium"...Def Leppard/Bryan Adams is playing OKC so I may see that tour too.

Me? A Justin Timberlake fan? Umm. No. I liked 'Justified' but that doesn't make me a fan. Besides, if I hadn't found the cd for as cheap as I did (about $5) I would never have bought it at all.
Beyonce? You'd have to pay me to get me to listen to her sh*t.

You certainly couldn't get me to pay to listen to Justin's ****, not even five cents. He thinks he's the second coming of Michael Jackson, boy grates on me like nails on a chalkboard. Sounds like someone is tweaking his balls every time he sings. Either that or he hasn't hit puberty quite yet.

I'd do him.
Ever since he grew some facial hair & shaved that afro. Yum.

I think Beyonce can sing, but it's not like she's an accomplished songwriter or anything. Eh.

The only show I'm going to this year as of now is Motley Crue. I'm just pissed that my SIL bought the $50 seats, as I was content to sit on the lawn for $15. Dumb bitch. Darien Lake sucks for concerts, so hopefully it's a damn good show.

Anyway, I'd be interested in Priest/Queensryche (as would my best friend, who was obsessed with both of those bands for years.) I'd see Sir Paul if he came around. Still waiting on Petty. Velvet Revolver has already cancelled their Buffalo show, so no worries there.

Anybody seen the Wendy Williams show on VH1? One time she asked JT, "Have your ever seen Britney do crack?"

Wendy is a hoot, I love her.

I had my fill of Timberlake when he publicly stated that he gone downtown on Hootchie Spears. To do that on her is bad enough, but to tell us is even worse. :o

F*ck it, I love to threadjack!

My favorite part in Garden State was when she took him to her house after he went to the shrink and she does that silly little dance and makes those noises "because no one has ever done that exact same thing before." That **** had me on the floor. It was such a good movie, loved it. And wasn't Jean Smart a riot as that kids ho for a mom?!

Huckabees and Alfie. <333333333  Sarandon is so hot in Alfie. She's just stunning, period. And Law is so hot during the end of Huckabees when he's all disheveled and sweaty and dirty. Hope you like them...

dissention 03-20-2005 04:58 PM

Oh, and Isabelle Huppert is one of the most sexiest women I've ever seen in my life. I dare you to disagree after watching Huckabees. That accent, oh my word.

I liked the scene in the house, too, but I liked how she was all "you're totally freaking out right now, aren't you? You can go, if you want" cause that's totally what I would say... :p And when she was sobbing while he was about to leave - that was a nice moment that I totally understood. And YES, I loved the part with Jean Smart! The whole scene was great. Again, I like that blond guy...I have to admit, I kept thinking that I kinda wished Zack Braff (or however) looked like someone else...he was ok, though.
Im going to watch Alfie, first, after i get a handle on this taco i'm wrestling with...

I already like Isabelle, but haven't thought of her as incredibly sexy. (just didn't think about it) But, hey, she's an older french woman who is an exceptional actress. I'd be suprised if she wasn't sexy...

Oy, I have to buy that movie. I have a yearning to watch it now. -_- I loved the part when he was laughing about the pet cemetary and she got all serious on him. Gawd, that movie was so good. It should have gotten some Oscar nods, dammit. Zach Braff is quite talented and I love Scrubs (the only good sitcom on TV these days).

She's very plain, but for some reason she's just incredibly sexy to me. Especially in that movie. Maybe it had to with her character, who knows, but she's smokin'.

really? I didn't think it was quite Oscar worthy, just good, a nice little movie. But, maybe I'm thinking that because there wasn't much to it - but also I think that's part of why it was good. He really just told it as a story, he didn't feel the need to punctuate everything, and tell you how to feel about it, which I appreciate. And there were lots of strange parts, but again, he didn't hit you over the head with it, it was just how it was - life is kind of strange. Zack Braff is okay, I'm not sure I liked him in this role. Course, I may just not like how he looks... :p Anyway, it didn't really detract from the movie much, so it's not a big deal...

Maybe it's cause she's a Pisces? :p ;) (March 16) No, she is sexy, i've seen her be so before. At first when I saw her I thought "she's not very pretty", then I changed my mind and didn't care. I think it was...that book...Madame Bovary, that's it. Anyways...

I thought the script should have been nominated and Natalie Portman was better in Garden State than she was in Closer (*shudder* Toothy Roberts *shudder*), IMO. I just thought the whole thing was perfection, except maybe the ending, it was too pat. I think I liked it because it didn't seem forced or fake like most other movies.

Christ, I'm finding out that almost all the movie stars I have crushes on are Pisces.

She's a good actress, I like her. And she gets props for that sex scene in Huckabees, my word. You couldn't have paid me to do that ****.

That is why I liked the movie, too.
But to be honest, Natalie's performance didn't seem earth shattering to me. It actually seemed to me that it would be a really easy part to play...she did a great job, but again, easy part. IMO. Not to diminish her performance, I don't think anyone else could've done better, but...

I HAVE to see Paul at least once in my lifetime before he finally decides to call it quits. Same goes for Eric Clapton. I hear he puts on one hell of a show.
