The Shopping Thread

Hey guys,

I love hearing about stuff that people buy, and I love buying stuff, so I thought I'd start this thread so we can chat about stuff we've just gotten, have, or want to get. Whatever. I know Amber got that fabulous dress and I really want to see a picture of her in it!

I just bought these kitten heeled black leather boots from Newport News and they are to die for. They were cheap too!

http://www.newport-news.com/shop/Pro...=&pageindex=24

I also got this beaded corset top but the photo doesn't do it justice. I love this thing, it's so pretty and it was also fairly inexpensive!

http://www.newport-news.com/shop/Pro...rodnum=5181054

And I suddenly want this ring but definitely have to at least sleep on the decision to buy!

http://www.macys.com/catalog/product...tegoryID=11351

Okay Ledgies, show me your stuff. :D

hayley 03-01-2005 06:11 PM

Woot! Shopping! That ring is gorgeous, btw. You should totally buy it.

I just bought myself this t-shirt that I've been coveting forever, because I'm a dork:
http://www.glarkware.com/media/product_main_g_car_1.jpg
http://www.glarkware.com/securestore...6471415.2.html

and a dorky Alias-related button and magnet from the same store:
http://www.glarkware.com/media/produ...inkman_big.jpg
http://www.glarkware.com/securestore...6402013.2.html

For V-Day I got my dream purchase, the Fresh fragrance index:
http://a1377.g.akamai.net/7/1377/572...80801_hero.jpg
http://www.sephora.com/browse/produc...dPaginate=true

which is encouraging me to buy full size bottles of pomegranate anise, violet moss, and bergamot citrus. Yummmmy.

amber 03-01-2005 06:17 PM

Score, Suz! love the stuff. I just got an ipod shuffle (240 songs) two pairs of pants (which are just regular) some perfume (I have never bought perfume!) and that lip stuff that Hayley recommended in the other thread. I also got a new pair of rollerblades with detachable wheels, and some new running shoes, Asics. Hmm, I guess it's not as effective without showing the pictures, but oh well, that's what I got.

Mmmmm, I love your V-day purchase especially. I can just smell the scents. Here is my happy V-day to me purchase:

I absolutely adore this watch, it is so pretty! The photo doesn't even do it justice because the mother of pearl face has so many other colors reflected in it.

Ahh, a fellow shopper who tells me I "should" buy that ring. :blob2:

DrummerDeanna 03-01-2005 06:22 PM

lol -my purchases have been SO lame lately...

BUT after my trip to New York in a couple of week I hope to buy some nice spring/summer clothes.

Lets see...recently I bought some pig ear dog bones and dog shampoo

AND - tonight I'm buying a slew of face products :p

Wow! I want one of those iPods, tell me how you like it. I also got pants from newport-news.com, their jeans are only $17 each if you buy 2 pairs! I got the boot cut low rise stonewashed ones. They are pretty comfortable and they don't look like cheap jeans.

I love roller blading and have a decent pair but I never use them. I can't stop in traffic but in a safe area I am fine. I didn't realize I couldn't stop very well until I tried roller blading in Somerville and almost skated right into a car. I grabbed a stop sign and nearly ripped my hand open trying to stop myself!

What kind of perfume did you get? My favorites are Tresor by Lancome and Angel, mmmmm.

Ooh, that watch IS pretty!

I didn't buy the Index for myself, it was actually a gift- a really fantastic gift. I smell so good. So, so, so good. I love Fresh fragrances- the index scents are great for layering. Today it's tobacco caramel and fleurs de chocolat. I totally want to make out with me.

Amber! Let me know how you like the Lip Venom. I think it kicks ass.

dissention 03-01-2005 06:25 PM

I bought four shirts from 80sTees.com last week:

SuzeQuze 03-01-2005 06:27 PM

 I'm loving Alf and Gizmo :D

DrummerDeanna 03-01-2005 06:27 PM

OMG - those KICK ASS!!!! You're my hero btw :xoxo: ;)

wondergirl9847 03-01-2005 06:28 PM

Dang

I haven't bought crap really. I bought 3 LP's on Ebay (still waiting on them...sent media mail  ) and in 9 days, I'm going to Oklahoma to see Keith Urban in concert, so two concert tickets are on my credit card bill. Also, the hotel we are staying at is on there. I haven't been buying anything except necessities.

I may be spending some cash in OKC next week. :)

dissention 03-01-2005 06:28 PM

My favorite is the Truffle Shuffle, I'm wearing it right now. :D

I got NOA, by Cacharel. They make Anais Anais, which i used to love - I smelled NOA once a couple years ago and liked it, I hope I still feel the same when it gets here! I just turn a circle to stop on my Rollerblades. The new ones will be nice cause i won't have to bring shoes everywhere I go on them, I just snap the wheels off when i go inside somewhere.

I haven't been shopping in a long time. Let's see I went to Kmart to get my film developed Thursday night and there I bought a photo album and I finally found that Golden Girls DVD set! :blob2: For Kmart!

My last big purchase was that Canon Rebel K2 35mm camera a few weeks ago and I also bought a gadget bag for it a week later.

I am trying to find a place for a cheap Photography class in my area now.

Now I need to start a fund for Vegas.

ryan8472 03-01-2005 07:48 PM

I? Love that site. I would like a "Save Ferris" shirt. ;)

And am I the only one who had a Teddy Ruxpin? Looking back, they were a little creepy.

ALSO - Does anyone else think that Alf and Scott Bakula look alike at all?

Not only did I have a Teddy Ruxpin, but I had a Grubby, too. But they must not have sold very well, though, because they don't make them anymore. You used to be able to connect the two of them with a wire and they would talk to each other. :D

Scott Bakula has more hair on his body than any human should.

I was thinking more in the face. But you have a point.

Have you seen some of the old Quantum Leap episodes? Dude has never heard of manscaping. Chest hair is fine, but not when it looks like you pasted a freakin' bear skin rug on it. Run your fingers through that **** and the critters living in it will bite 'em off.

I tried watching Enterprise once and never saw it again. It's shockingly bad. TV sucks, anyway, though. I only watch three shows, I think. I love getting the old TV shows on DVD, it's SO much fun watching good shows.

Star Trek has been terrible since DS9 ended (except the Voyager finale...that was awsome). ****ing Rick Berman!

I just got it for a steal at $600! :blob1: I got a Macy's promo code for registering my card online. They already sold out of the 6 while I was trying to submit my order so I hope the 5 1/2 fits, I may have to wear it on my left hand since that ring finger is smaller than my right. We will see. :woohoo: This is my early birthday present to me, a diamond just happens to be my birthstone. Yay! :D

My dress came today. Seems to look pretty good so far! I could mainly see the top part, but I think it looks as well as can be expected.

Suze and Christy..it's an award thing (I think Prince Phillip endorses it, hence his name) that you can strive for, that incorprates leadership (they go on a 3 day walk using map skills/tents and compass) and community work (I'm not sure but I think, there's old folks invoved), there are 3 stages, bronze silver and gold and she's starting her bronze level this March, by doing a day walk taster, and learning how to read a map etc, so a good pair of boots is a must.I have to say however, these boots are damn useful walking in all the snow we have at the moment!!

Awesome. I hope you like it on too.

I can't afford that ring but I literally dreamt about it last night. I have an issue with delayed gratification. I just wanted this ring so badly. I'll take a webcam pic of it on my finger when I get it, then you will see why I just had to have it. :D

I'm psyched you got that dress! It is so cool.

I totally understand. I'm especially that way with jewelry. I can't believe i've managed not to buy any. Yeah, take a pic.
Oh, and I meant I already tried the dress on, and it looks good so far. :) I couldn't wait....
