The New Season of Amazing Race...

...starts tonight @ 9 on CBS.

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race7/ has all the info on the contestants.

And who wants to be my partner for Amazing Race 8? They need a Fleetwood Mac Fans Team.

dissention 03-01-2005 12:05 PM

Amber and Rob?

UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH. I won't be watching until they're eliminated.

Why so down on them? I thought they were beloved.

I can't stand them. Hated them on Survivor and I won't be watching their antics on The Amazing Race. I find it rather said that this show is employing stunt casting, it was the only good and respectable reality show out there.

Do they take plain looking fat-bottomed girls? If so, I'm IN! :]

I know, I was also surprised to see they had picked these survivor vets. I never watched that show so I don't know much about them except that Rob is from Boston and so everyone I know loves him. My roommate met him and said he was cool. I dunno. I'm sick of reality TV, the Bachelorette has killed it for me. Although The Amazing Race is much more interesting with all the competition and traveling, not to mention the bad behavior!

wondergirl9847 03-01-2005 12:30 PM

I'm there!

The Amazing Race rules!! I'll most def be watching.

That one girl was on it from Big Brother the season before last. Her and her man were out within a few rounds. I think watching Romber would be good for the show. It will make me root for the other teams much more. :o

I just remembered how fun the first few episodes are cuz the really bad competitors are still in it, very entertaining!

Cute. That's exactly what we'll be watching because TAR is my roommate's favorite show. Plus we've been watching Idol. Too bad you live so damn far away, you could come over for Amazing Race-tinis. ;)

I've thought about it but I couldn't stand being some reality TV show person. How bout it, Merf? :D

Johnny Stew 03-01-2005 03:10 PM

I've never been a big 'Survivor' fan, but Amber is from Beaver, PA., where I went to high school, and we have some mutual friends and other connections.... so it'll be interesting to see how her and Rob fare on 'AR.'
Just for the fun of it.

At the moment, I'm rooting for the straight boy best friends to last as long as possible... just for the eye-candy!
Hopefully they won't turn out to be jerks.

ontheEdgeof17 03-01-2005 09:03 PM

Some of these teams look scary.

Just some? O_o What was with the two crazies on the rollerskates? The mother and son team might be the creepiest of all--they're going to be all evil.

I think they're going to be my team to hate this year. The guys from South Carolina are making me laugh already and I like the two gay guys too.

ontheEdgeof17 03-01-2005 09:15 PM

Peru is like donkies and blankets

Gotta love the airhead gays.

Livia 03-01-2005 11:08 PM

Kind of a boring season opener, eh? The entire first hour was just getting to Peru and finding the damn bus.

Our local paper described the mother/son team as "creepy yet entertaining, w/ an obsession over destroying Rob and Amber that's almost Shakespearean."

Lynn and Alex are hucking filarious!

I love Uchenna and Joyce (and they're from Texas - yay!) I've nicknamed the blondies "Paris and Nicole," for their hair and big sunglasses. And they're girly-girls....

My thoughts EXACTLY.

Josh2003 03-02-2005 09:02 AM

I think I'm going to enjoy this season. The teams seem to all be very different, unlike last season, when I don't think I ever could tell the difference between Aaron and Hayden and Freddie and Kendra.

I do have to say, though, that a 2-hour premiere was NOT necessary. Waaaaay to long.

I watched this show for the first time ever. I LOVE it! I have to say I'm a bit disappointed that the hillbillies are gone. They were different. They don't need 2 blond girl groups, I can barely tell them apart.

The gay guys are great & I love that the mom & son hate Rob & Amber. Cuz I hate Rob & Amber.

dissention 03-08-2005 11:56 AM

Just finally watched it and I thought it was good. There are a lot of teams that I like this season, especially Uchenna and Joyce. Poor guys. :( Meredith and Gretchen are cute and they seem to have what it takes.

Love the mother and son team and I love the best friends, can't wait for them to bitch out Amber and Rob tonight.

The gay guys are hella obnoxious. I want to slap them so hard that they suffer from amnesia next time they try to remember a Liza song.

I couldn't understand the guys from South Carolina. They had THICK accents.

Oh, how I despise Amber and Rob, though. -_-

I love them already. They will bring great drama, most definitely. They hate Rob and Amber with such a passion that it's hilarious. Can't say I blame them, though.

dissention 03-08-2005 10:04 PM

ROMBER MUST GO NOW.

They play a cheap, unfair game and it is infuriating to watch.

That is all.

The son doesn't hate them. It's obvious he has the biggest crush on Rob. That's all he talks about.

They are my favorite team. You gotta do what you gotta do. Why play fair and lose? :woohoo:

*POSSIBLE SPOILER*

From what I've heard, they do lose, so the point is moot. Their disgusting antics will be the death of them in that competition. The fact that they were even allowed to go on the show with such an incredibly unfair advantage is rather shocking to begin with. If the final four that's being paraded around by many different sources is correct, I'm INCREDIBLY happy. Great final four to watch.

Perish, Romber, perish. :D

Please. There have been far worse teams than them. And no one raised a ruckus when Amanda and her man was on it.

That's why they had to put up subtitles for them! I always crack up when shows do that - it's rampant on Growing Up Gotti as well. Good thing, cuz I can never understand those boys! :D

Ha. I've yet to see a team with such an unfair advantage, not even Charla and Mirna. The **** Rob pulled on the bus tonight was the lowest thing I've seen yet on this entire show. Stunt casting at it's worst, but I suppose CBS had to get them back out there to promote their upcoming Romber reality show.

Those Gotti boys are the reason the mute button was invented, dear. :xoxo:

Please tell me you're kidding & that there is not going to be a Rob & Amber show coming soon. Please.

And I? Hate those f*cking Gotti kids. Loathe might actually be a better word. Despise maybe? Ugh.

Although, it wouldn't surprise me to see a wedding special on CBS. :o

I am not, dear. They're getting their own reality show on CBS that documents the planning of their wedding and the finale is the actual wedding. They've reportedly already bagged another million for all of it.

Johnny Stew 03-10-2005 01:47 AM

Yes, diss is right. Bridal shower, wedding preparations... it's all being filmed for an upcoming series.

skcin 03-10-2005 08:55 AM

I am nauseous just thinking about a Romber show. Please please please let something bad happen to them so they don't win Race.

I finally watched this week's episode. I'm kind of glad the girls got the boot, they were dull.

I want Romber off so bad that I love every team in comparison. The two brothers are such idiots, though.

Team Oedipus and Team Enron all the way, baby!
