Fall From Grace Demo
 

I just listened to an Awesome Fall From Grace demo, is there a reason this demo is sooo amazingly different to the finished product? I love the finished product, but it is almost like two different songs to the same music.

Wow. I'm surprised to see so many ppl not have it. It is a great demo. The extra verse is to die for. I'm really hoping the entire demo version will pop up on a reel someday.

I downloaded this awhile ago and I thought (and still think) it's awesome! I never really liked Fall From Grace until I listened to the demo. FFG is great but I like the demo even more.

John Shanks felt there were too many verses so some of them were cut.

I love the demo, but I think the arrangement that wound up on the album is much better. I think the line about "maybe I came all the way here just to make sure you survive" sounds way better as an end-of-the-song screaming climax, whereas on the demo it just kind of peters off.

Okay seriously...I have nothing in terms of demos and such :( I suck as a fan in that regard...I've never traded because I have nothing to trade....:( 'tis truly sad - I just have the actually released stuff....no boots etc....so usually people either have to send me the song being discussed or I hear stuff on like Nancy's site or other various sites....

I didn't mean to bash ya. :o I just thought it was one of those widely circulated ones. I stopped bootlegging/downloading last semester. I'll prob pick it up after I move and get settled in this summer.

no no - I didn't think you were bashing me at all hha...I was just stating that even though I love Stevie I have a rather pathetic knowledge of bootlegs and such - it's sad....because it seems like everyone has heard them all lol- so I'm always a bit behind :o

Most of them I just have listened to them once or twice. I have a lot of live shows that I have never listened to at all. They just collect dust.

Maybe to ease the burden on Jason's shoulders ( :laugh: ), those who get it can pass it on to the next person who asks and so on?

I like the demo but didn't impress me in a particular way, I prefer the album version, even if I agree about the extra verse, it should have stayed.

it is stark compared to the CD cut. I think the "extra" lyrics make the song better. Interestingly, I like demos and seeing what they become. In the case of FFG - the final production is good, save her voice, which is IMO better on the demo as happened alot on TISL IMO. I will send when I get home to the comp. that has it.

the starkest conversion IMO is Love Is - the piano demo is BEAUTIFUL and HAUNTING - the CD cut is not IMO
