Stevie's Rhiannon dress in paper

Here is the link to the page I tore out. It was in our Sunday paper, in a new little Life magazine type thing. I happened to look through it for valentine pictures, and lo and behold, on the very last page, I see the name Stevie Nicks and I'm all "Wha?!"

$11,950. That's my annual salary for 2004....for that dress. :shocked:

That looks more to me like her "Sorcerer" video dress.

Yer it's doesn't particularly look like a Rhiannon-ish dress to me actually.

I think it's a BTM era Rhiannon dress. I seem to remember her wearing something like that for Rhiannon with a black duster over it and top hat.

People magazine also ran a pic of this dress, before the auction. They said she wore it onstage in the 70's. :shrug:

Oh, there's no way. I mean maybe it could have been Tusk era but the dress is so 80's. Who knows? :shrug:

It looks a bit too small to have fit BTM era Stevie... :confused:

BTM era Stevie was thin. :nod: Look at the Skies The Limit video. I was there when they shot it. It was widely rumored that she'd had lipo. She also wore a mini skirt on this tour. I think you might be thinking of the Whole Lotta Trouble Tour which wasn't long after and she was heavy.
The dress looks stretchy to me and I think the mannequin and the way it darts in at the waist make it smaller than it actually is. :shrug:

Too cool! I've never seen the video for Skies the Limit. Anyone have it for download? I'm sure she's had many things over the years.

Thats definitly not BTM. She wore those long robes with the shoulder pads for rhiannon on that tour. That looks more to me like Tango. She wore a lot of those long sleeves in that era. Thats the only thing i can think of or they are just BSin us.

Yeah, but I think she only wore the mini during the spring & summer months of the tour -- she was in relatively great shape during the first half of the tour. But by the late fall & winter, she was really no longer in great shape (except to the fans who wrote concert reviews of those shows for the fanzines).

Or just pull out your Vegas or Sacramento (both from June '90) video & watch it.

Yeah, I saw them in Pittsburgh in November of that year, and she had definitely gained a noticeable amount of weight.
My uncle teased me after the show that, "if Stevie gains any more weight, they're going to make her an honorary member of Heart."
Effectively making fun of both of my favorite groups. *lol*

I still thought she looked great that night, because I've never been one to think someone only looks great when they're slim.
I've seen other pics from that era where she didn't look so great though... but everyone has an off-day or off-week. Some of us even have off-decades! :shocked:

yeah, i saw shows in July and November. She definately was heavier and more serious in November.

I have one of the auction catalogs from It'sOnlyRocknRoll.com and they have what looks to be the same or a very similar dress. They describe the dress as being made for the Tango Tour so that would be my guess as to when the dress was worn.

Yes, that's the one. It was filmed at Red Rocks.
