Not that I hate but... I never got crazy about Yes or The Who, not my style I think

And I liked Stairway to Heaven and Love Hurts but.. never a fan of Led Z.

Neither Spice Girls, I loved to dance their songs but.. didn't look for them on the radio.

QUEEN. I never saw what the big deal was with Queen. I guess they're ok or whatever, but not *AMAZING*. :shrug:

Pretty much all of them in the music world today lol..I hate rap/hip-hop - and it seems to be dominating right now....

Never been a fan of the boy bands (except for New Kids :laugh: )

Also I've never really liked the Rolling Stones.

Motley Crue. Just too gross for me!

There's a lot that I like, actually. :)

I like a lot of old country and bluegrass, country-rock from the '70s (The Eagles, Gram Parsons...some more recent, too...I love Wilco's first two albums :D), '70s singer-songwriter music (Joni, James Taylor, et al), blues, and jazz. I also like what might be termed "adult alternative" (Sheryl Crow-type stuff).

QUEEN is wonderful! And their music... The Prophet song, Mustafa, Spread your Wings, I'm going slightly mad, Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody to love, etc...!!!

I love Queen, it was my first option until I met the mac... Anyway, nothing is written about tastes. That's the world we live, different colors, different tastes..

That's how I feel about Queen, though. They're f*cking fabulous, there's no denying it, but they just never "grabbed" me like other bands. Mercury does have one of the most incredible voices I've ever heard, though. That man was otherworldly, it's spooky.

Ya know - I've owned No Exit since the year it came out - I had someone buy it for me for the Songs Maria and the live Rapture...

Only recently after your breakdown of it and your discussions on Blondie have I listened to the whole thing...and I LOVE it!!

mainly because another trade I deal with has some music I like that some Blondie will bring me in a trade...

Plus I know y'all like 'em and I dont mind sharing music...Blondie's just not my cup of tea, But as I said, I do respect 'em and I think Debby Harry is sexy as hell.

:thumbsup: I discovered the same thing last year with one of my Bonnie Raitt CDs. I had bought it for a couple songs and had never really listened to it, but when I did, I was blown away.

No Exit is one of my favorite albums from anyone. :nod: Everything about it is superb, from the writing to the vocals to the mixing to the production; it's just chillingly good. And it has such a sense of fun to it all, it puts me in a good mood right away.

I'm still getting to know the album - I do like the boom boom in the zoom zoom room song - I'm HORRIBLE with song names..I rarely look at the actual sleeve for the names..

The Coolio one was really hard for me to get into because I'm not a Coolio fan - but I've actually enjoyed that song a lot too :nod:

I got into them right before they started going out....I was only in fourth grade - so perhaps you were just too young to be fully obsessed with NKOTB?? haha...nah there are, also, a lot of people who just didn't like them..ya know, people with taste at a young age :laugh: ;) - I LOVED them

when the NKOTB played at Skelly Stadium in Tulsa and some of my Tech School friends went to the show. They hung out on 11th Street outside of Skelly Stadium and shot water balloons, (With a bungy cord like rubber band) filled with only God knows what, into the crowd.

No Exit (the song) took me forever to get into because of Coolio, but I ended up loving it after hearing the live versions with only Debbie.

And since you're terrible at song titles, my favorite tracks are 2, 5, 8, 9, and 14. :laugh: Some of their best songs EVER.

It's disheartening, how many Blondie's are on these lists. :(

Also, I never got into Led Zeppelin, Queen, Boston, U2, ANY bubble gum pop like Brittany Spears, Ashlee Simpson, Debbie Gibson, New Kids on the Block, etc. (I didn't like it as a young person, and I don't like it now.), or Nirvana. I guess I just never saw all the fuss about any of these people. :shrug:

The first band that I can think of is U2. I like maybe a few songs by them but I can't see any big deal about them.

It seems that so many Mac fans love them but I am not one of them.

I am not really a fan of The Rolling Stones. Pink Floyd, or The Who either.

Oh I know Bruce Springteen and the E Street Band. I never got into 'The Boss" too much. :shrug:

I never got into any of the boy bands like New Kids, Backstreet Boys, or N'Sync, thank god. I never really liked much mainstream pop music either. I was more into heavy metal but I didn't like some of the really poppy metal bands like Winger and KISS.

Later beatles stuff (eh)
John Lennon (Basic Cult figure, I find kinda bland)
Any Heavy metal bands from 80's (some of the guitarists are good, but mostly just noise)
Whiney, twangy country (especially if they feel they have to "talk" in the song)
Any Rap/Hip-Hop - They don't play instruments so just bad poetry and stolen samples. CAN"T STAND ENIMEM. Haven't watched MTV for over a decade - can't stand the music (Could go on for pages...but won't)
Nirvanna - mostly crud, over rated. and Cobain was NOT the voice of a generation.
Use to like Sting - then I met him in person and he is such a piece of work, can't listen to him anymore.
Babs Streisand - Another nut case. Her exploits in person should have comitted her
KISS - Gene Simmons is a bigger horses A** Than sting (if that is possible)
Gun and Roses - Axel - another major horse pucky. His ego destroyed that band

I use to work in the recording industry and met Stink ...er Sting backstage one night. He was one of the most arrogant little men I have ever met. He treated his staff like crap and was acting hollier than though. (I think there was a thread on here sometime ago with a few other ledgies who met him also and had the same experience...so wasn't an isolated case). I managed to piss him off by just ignoring him and not caring or smoozing with him. I had more fun talking to the roadies.
If I had to choose the biggest A**Hole in music, it would have to be Gene Simmons. He is under the impression that every women in the world wants to sleep with him, and that if they don't, they are Lesbians or soon to be Lesbians. He did an NPR interview on FreshAir promoting his book and was such the piece of crap to Terry Gross. She has done literally hundreds if not thousands of interviews with almost everyone famous at one time or another. (She knows what she is doing) and he kept saying she wanted to sleep with him, and she wasn't having any part of it. That had to be the nightmare interview from hell. Everytime I have seen him in anything he is an A**Hole. Was in the same room as him at a function, didn't want to meet him, and didn't care. He acted like an idiot, and managed to piss off a few people. He reminds me of that Guy "The BRAd" in the TV commercial. Thinks he is god's gift to the world.
