Bands/singers you miss

What bands do you miss?

Right now and after watching Live Aid, I miss Thompson Twins, they were a cool band. As the Cars, ABBA, Culture Club or Pink Floyd

Carpenters is another group I miss, and it's impossible to have them again :distress:

You got it :xoxo: :xoxo: :xoxo:

I miss Paula Abdul, B52s, and Ace of Base at the moment.

Definitley The Carpenters...total cheese music - but it soothes me and I love Karen's voice

Others..

The Beatles!!
Traveling Wilburys :p

I loved Ace of Base. :blob1: :blob1:

Let's see.....I miss Lauryn Hill and TLC.

I know. I don't care how cheesy, I love Karen Carpenter. What a voice.

I miss the Spice Girls, too. As well as Zeppelin (:(), Guns N Roses, Collective Soul, Gin Blossoms, Jefferson Airplane, Pearl Jam, and Garbage, since they've been Black Hole'D. Oh! And Fiona Apple. And Hole. I also miss the Pretenders, since they've decided to play Girl From Impanema-esque gigs in Argentina and have no plans for a new album or tour anywhere near the US. Ow, my fandom. -_- Same with Blondie, minus the AOR!Argentina gigs.

hey you can still see the B52s perform... i saw them in september! i was totally stoned and it was way fun!

Oh, yeah. I forgot Gin Blossoms and Collective Soul. High school memories. :blob2:

TALKING HEADS!!!
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
The B-52's (I thought they were still together? )
The Cars
The Beatles

A few...

of my picks:

John Lennon & George Harrison/The Beatles (Obviously)

Pink Floyd (As a group...ya can always see the members solo-wise)

Freddie Mercury (BEST male singer ever IMO!!!)

Dimebag Darrell/Pantera (Again...Obviously)

Guns N Roses (The AFD era lineup)

and to just be a smartass I would say Metallica (Remember REAL Metal Lars & James? Apparently NOT anymore...Man, How I long for the days of 'Master Of Puppets'!!!!)

Btw, Pearl Jam is still around and still recording/touring...They are definitely not gone/forgotten.

Werd. We always have the RNRHoF induction ceremony. Maybe that'll convince them to lose the Girl From Impanema **** and go back to straight-up rock.

EDIT - I Also miss...

The Velvet Underground
The Clash (not gonna happen, though. :()
The Ramones (Same.)
The Talking Heads
SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES!!!1 They're still around, but as the Creatures. Frown.

Have you picked up their new album? It's good stuff... :wavey:

Yes!!! But George and Roy are not with us anymore. They got cool songs. I had their first album.

That's really funny, becuase I just downloaded She Drives Me Crazy by Fine Young Cannibals. I used to love this song when I was little!

I looooooooooooooooove Fine Young Cannibals. The first time I heard them was on the vinyl for the movie Something Wild and I just loved them instantly. GREAT band.

Shut Up! I never hear anything about them anymore. Such a shame.

I miss Debbie Gibson and New Kids on the Block, too.

Forgot to add The Kinks, and Berlin. Aw, and Scandal, Simple Minds, Traffic, and hi, [P]! -_- I miss all of these bands.

CCR although John Fogerty's still going. That was the band.

Lynyrd Skynyrd :(

Led Zepplin

The Beatles.

Fleetwood Mac (Look I miss them anytime there's not something in the forseeable future on the horizon  )

I was just watching Who's Line and they a song in the style of the Talking Heads so I was thinking of you, Ryan. Which reminds me, I actually have one of their CDs and I should bust it out in homage. :wavey:

Terence Trent D'Arby. Midnight Oil. :p

What was it like? Details!

I'm terrible with the details! Wayne Brady and the other dude were singing and they ended with "same as it ever was" over and over with the weird dance moves and everything. Sorry, I should've taken notes!

I love to go around school saying that, while doing the arm-chop thing.

Agreed!

that is part of an upcoming '(un)reality TV' series which shows the band auditioning for a new singer and then recording a new studio album.
