The AMERICAN IDOL Thread.
Anybody else ready for another season, or do you watch? Of course, I am a big fan. I just hope this year is better than last year. They say this coming season is the best yet. We will see....

I can't wait to be honest...I love the show...do the phone voting...the whole thing lol

I have never voted. Just watched. I think if I really have a favorite this year, I just might. Trenyce (Season 2) will always be my all time favorite. |
I've only voted once. I never can get through. :(
I'm looking forward to it - but I hope it's better than last year. :blob1: |
Voted once too, for Reuben. I saw a preview of some of the awful auditions on an entertainment show. Oh man, that is the best part of the season! :blob1:

My favorite part of the show is actually the first part, not because of the horrible singers, but it's where it stars the judges, my favorite part of the show. And I usually just watch the singing ever week in the slim hopes they'll do a Fleetwood Mac song. And sometimes I get a favorite, believe it or not, by favorite last year was the winner, Fantasia. And the year before it was Ruben and Kimberly Locke and also Kimberly Caldwell.

May I ask why? I'd rather watch bread mold than him. |

He's quite...dull. Stage presence is something he's never heard of. |

He's never heard of a hit record either and probably never will. |

Yeah. He was a fad for awhile. I knew he would never produce good songs though.......just like Fantasia. Their musical style is not what is 'in' now. |

I guess that Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken seem to have found some success. Only time will tell however. |

Tamyra Gray was, but like the others, her songs are crap. Whatta waste of a beautiful voice. :distress: |

Curiosity lead it to #1. However, it did not stay long, if at all. Success is having an album that has longevity. His, I'm afraid, did not. It's ashame, too because he seemed like a nice guy. I've never heard Sorry 2004. |

Hey. I agree with ya for a change! Except for Kelly.....I love her. <3 |

I saw Ryan Seacrest on Ellen today and he said they're going to try to make this season a little different. During the semifinals they will have the guys sing one night and the girls another night. My favorite part though is still hearing all the terrible auditions.
|
I actually bought Fantasia's album. I'm glad to have supported her but am disappointed that it sounds pretty much like the rest of the R&B that's on the radio these days. I loved the gospel-y/bluesy/funk she put into all of her performances on the show. Though she was often over-the-top, she was always original. Most of that is missing on the album. I suppose it is worth it to have Summertime in my CD collection, however. She does that song brilliantly.
I liked Rueben back in the day mainly because he wasn't Clay, but he really has turned out to be incredibly dull (and sweaty). That silly I'm Sorry (2004) was terrible. I admit that I didn't take the time to figure out what the lyrics were other than "I'm sorry for 2004." What the hell does that mean? At any rate, I am definitely looking forward to another season. I hope Paula has sobered up a bit, though by the looks of her Golden Globes dress, she hasn't! |

With bells on, my dear. |
I love Amer. Idol! Yeah, the first few episodes are the best - but from the commercials, it looks like people are trying to be bad on purpose - just to get on TV - in hopes of becoming the next William Hung! :p Did ya see those 2 guys doing "I'm So Excited?"

Simon was on Jay Leno last night. He said they don't show the people who go in to auditions and "try" to be bad. They pick the ones that think they are good and have no clue they suck. I don't know, though. |

Ok. I'm in love with Regina. Pawning your wedding rings to pay for being there? WoW. She seems so sweet. I'm glad she made it through. It breaks my heart to think she couldn't afford a night in a hotel room. It brought tears to my eyes.

It said she was from Belpre, OH....which is like 40 minutes from my parents. I pass through there a lot when we go to the mall. VERY SMALL TOWN. |

I liked Anwar, but I think he needed to lose the hat. Regina was pretty good, though there was something scary looking about her husband. I'm looking forward to tomorrow night. |
