Yay! I love the Globes, too. Thanks for starting the thread. Also, it reminded me of how i really, really, want to see Hotel Rwanda.... :p

GardenStateGirlie 01-16-2005 03:03 PM

If Renée Zellweger wins again, i'm going to scream. I have love/hate for the Renée. As much as I loved Edge of Reason, it wasn't nearly as good as the first film, nor was her acting. I found her incredibly annoying in it, actually. If Renée doesn't win, they'll give it to Emmy--they looove up-in-comers

PS- Nip/Tuck all the way

ontheEdgeof17 01-16-2005 03:07 PM

I can't wait to talk Globes with ya'll. I love boring award shows! :blob1:

I haven't seen all the nominated films. I'm going to have a lot of renting to do before the Oscars.

Have you seen Leon the Professional? Portman was sublime in that one. I thought Closer was utter ****, though. I love Mike Nichols to death, but what the hell was he thinking?

Madsen better win or there will be no justice!

sunmaiden 01-16-2005 04:15 PM

I have only seen a few of these nominees...Desperate Housewives, 24, Nip/Tuck, um and both Kill Bills

I am pretty sure Desp. Housewives will win and I really want Nip/Tuck or 24 to win. I think it will be 24, though

I LOVE that movie- it's one of two Nat Portman movies I've ever seen, that and the Wal-Mart one (Ithink that was her)

Yes, that's where i first didn't like Natalie Portman. :wavey: I read a review that said Julia Roberts "acting" absolutely ruined closer... :D

Eh, Roberts and Jude Law ruined Closer, along with the pretentious vibe it sent off thorughout all 95 minutes of its runtime. The only reason to see it is for Portman and Clive Owens, but even they couldn't save it because as a film it was blech and they butchered the original ending to the play.

However, i'm open to changing my mind, and when i see the performance by her that does change my mind, you'll be the first to know. :D

It's a great movie and she's hilarious in it. Her character in that movie is so my type that it's ridiculous.
