New Bewitched Trailer

http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/b...ed_trailer.swf

I know I will go see this film but I'm really not keen on Nicole Kidman. I don't think she has the twitch right! LOL!

DrummerDeanna 01-13-2005 10:38 AM

Yeah - not sure about the nose twitch there....I'll probably see it though - mostly out of curiousity :)

Livia 01-13-2005 10:41 AM

I'll definitely see it. Will Farrell as Dimwit? Eeeeexcelleeeent. Who's playing Endora? Is there an Endora in the movie?

cliffdweller 01-13-2005 10:47 AM

There's got to be an Endora...she rocks.

I can TOTALLY see Nicole Kidman as Samantha, totally. I think it's a great casting choice. And Will Ferrell?!?! Omg, this is going to be great!

GypsySorcerer 01-13-2005 11:04 AM

I'll see it, but I don't care for the choice of Will Ferrell. But Nicole will be great, no doubt! :D

Yeah, it looks like she has too much mouth and not enough nose to the twitch.

hayley 01-13-2005 11:38 AM

The only cast list I've seen so far:

Cast: Nicole Kidman (Samantha Stephens), Will Ferrell (Darrin Stephens), Shirley MacLaine (Endora), Michael Caine (Maurice), Jason Schwartzman; other cast not announced yet.

Shirley MacLaine is pretty much perfect for Endora.

Shirley MacLaine! She will make the film I think! A great choice as Endora. I just don't like Nicole Kidman!

We'll have to agree to disagree! I always loved Bewitched and I don't think anyone will be as good as Elizabeth Montgomery. She was perfect as Samantha and had a great twitch! lol

Yeah, but unfortch she's a bit too old to play the role. I think Shirley MacLaine as Endora is PERFECT!!!

She died in 1995. They should have left well enough alone. Why there is a need to rehash old TV series into movies is beyond me. It's just never the same!

Ooops. I was afraid of something like that. :sorry:

Yeah, this will make the second re-make Nicole has done. In a way it seems like she's just reprising her Stepford Wives role. I dunno...I'm not a huge fan of making movies out of t.v. shows either, but I love Will Ferrell and Shirley MacLaine. I'll probably see it at some point.

I'm a huge Shirley MacLaine fan so I will watch it for her. I don't know what it is about Nicole that bugs me. I thought The Others was a good movie and I have liked some other things she has been in but I'm just not keen on her. Also I guess when you have grown up with a fave actress as I did with Liz Montgomery then it will be impossible to me for someone to fill her greatest role

Pip

BBALLGYPSY17 01-13-2005 12:46 PM

Is it horrible that...

...I want to see this JUST based on the fact that Nicole is playing it...

~alex~*... Can't blame me can you.

Speaking of Liz Montgomery...have you ever seen that made for t.v. movie she was in where she played Lizzie Borden? I love that movie!

BBALLGYPSY17 01-13-2005 01:02 PM

Cliffdweller...

I just sent you a PM back, but you reached your space quota for messages!!!

Pip,

I'm the same way. I don't like her and I'm not sure why! The only recent movie I've seen with her was Cold Mountain, and I did like, it and even her performance, but I just don't like her!

I LOVED Bewitched when I was a kid, and will still watch it in reruns, but I don't know if I'll make it to the theater to see it. We don't go out without my daughter much, and I'm not sure if this will be a kid's movie. Anyone know what it'll be rated?? We'll probably wait for rental or pay per view!

Carol

the series too much to see the movie (Put all the top level "actors" in it ya want, Still doesnt peak my curiosity), And ya never goin' to top Agnes Morehead (A fellow Oklahoman) who was the original Endora.

Ah... a ledgie after my own heart! Glad to find someone else who loves it as much as me! I know I will see it (probably on video release) and spend a lot of the time moaning that it's 'nothing like the original' ! LOL!

estranged4life 01-13-2005 02:00 PM

That's what...

we'll do (Deb loves Bewitched, So much that she owns Bewitched pajamas & even the Bewitched Barbie, Which has a familiar lookin' black dress I know I have seen on another blonde headed witch somewhere), Wait to watch it on HBO or rent it...But it will never live up to the original series.

I agree, I'm not too keen on Will Ferrell, so...but I will see it anyways. I love Nicole and think she's perfect. Who else out there could do it? I can think of no one.

This weeks TV Guide has some pictures from it and the ones next to Elizabeth Montgomery are spooky. She really looks like Samantha. I'm not sure about the plot, though, it seems RIDICULOUS. It's great that Nora Ephron is doing it, but a TV show within a movie within a TV show? Sounds absurd.

Have you had your eyes tested lately?! Nicole looks nothing like the lovely Liz! Both facially and in the figure. I mean Liz at least had a figure and shape rather than looking like a lollipop! ;)

Josh2003 01-13-2005 04:36 PM

Amy Sedaris is also in the movie...she's playing Mrs. Kravitz, and I think she's perfect for that role.

I think it's the cheek bones that make them look similar.

YEEEEESS!!!!!!

CelticGypsy 01-13-2005 06:38 PM

Looks like a good movie!

Love Will Ferrell  He will be great as Darrin :blob1: Yes, there was only one Samantha and Elizabeth was SAM. I just wished they had found an unknown actress to play Samantha. I am not much of a fan of Nicole Kidman's. Her face is just too familiar but I guess that is the reason why they chose her to do this. I'll go to see this one just because it has Will Ferrell in it.

Hawkeye 01-13-2005 06:49 PM

Do you think will will go for a dick york darrin or a dick sargenat darrin? I wonder if they'll be an uncle arthur?

Hawkeye 01-13-2005 06:51 PM

Oh and if there is one person who could ever pass as Stevie's twin it would be Samantha from Bewitched. I swear they look identical juhdging from Stevie in the Rhiannon Rosebud video.

I think they're going to go for a totally stupid and buffoonish Darren, if Will Ferrell is any indication.

I am excited to see this, but if it has Will Ferrell, it's bound to be pretty stupid and, dare I say, a tad bit cloying, IMO. He annoys me as much as Adam Sandler does.

Serrart 01-13-2005 07:01 PM

I think Nicole Kidman should do pretty well, and besides, she needs to have a little fun for once in a movie, after dying many times, waiting for her husband to come back from the war, moving in a suburban paradise for men, being abused by a whole small town community, stalked by a ten year old.. ;)

Will Ferrell seems quite a lame choice, but I trust Nora Ephron and can't wait to see Shirley McLaine and Michael Caine interacting .

Ferell is okay in toilet-bowl comedies, but I just cannot see him opposite of Nicole Kidman. The poor woman.

Shirley MacLaine (Endora),
Very good choic, I don't wat to judge the film before I see it, could be good could be bad but if I go in with expectations either way, it will change the experience, I will deffinitely see it though.
