What Classes Do You Have This Semester?

In celebration of my last semester in college, I think it would be cool to see what all the college (and high schoolers) have this semester. Here's my schedule:

MWF Classes:

Community Health Promotion II (one hour lecture)
Nursing with Complex Alterations in Health II (two hour lecture)
Ethical Perspectives in Health (one hour lecture)

Tues Clinicals:

Community Health Promotion II (Clinical component)

Thursday Clinicals:

Nursing with Complex Alterations in Health II (7a-7p)

On my own:

48 hours with a preceptor in a chosen field. (I chose the OR).

All I can say in French is,"I ride to school in a car." :o

GateandGarden 01-11-2005 10:36 PM

I've got an African-American history course, a general late American history course, a Louisiana history course, a Women's literature course, and an advanced French course. :blob2:

Hey, that's more than a lot of people can say. I suppose you can say i'm taking this as a fluff course. I was able to talk the Dean into letting me take it instead of ANOTHER history or poli sci course. I'm transferring and no longer will be a Poli Sci major but I do need a foreign language in college (even though i've had years of French in high school). I'll take my A and a GPA boost, thanks

This is my tenth (yes, tenth) semester in college. YaaaYyYy 2nd degree (my first was a BA in Communication-- no science for meez).

Finishing up the pre-nursing stuff: Bacteriology & Bacteriology Lab; Anatomy/Physiology II & Anatomy/Physiology II Lab, and Nutrition.

If all goes well I will FINALLY start nursing school in August. :) (after a required CNA class in the summer)

StevieNicksEO17 01-11-2005 10:45 PM

1st hour - Algebra 2
2nd hour - American History
3rd hour - Photography 2
4th hour - Physics
5th hour - Lunch
6th hour - Gym
7th hour - Spanish 3
8th hour - Speech

I am so scared for speech. I HATE getting up infront of people and talking. Scariest thing in the world

I hated speech, too. That was the worst! I am so glad I don't really have anything else to add to this thread :D I hated school since 1st grade! (kindergarten was cool though  )

I'm not too sure of the exact makeup (period-wise) of my schedule, but I'm in all the same classes.

Psychology I AP/IB
English Comp/Lit 11 AP/IB
Photography II
Theory Of Knowledge <3<3<3
AP US History (subject to change, I'm going to drop this for normal US History)
Algebra II
Chemistry I
Required Study Hall (aka pass time for Greg)

For next year, I'm signed up for the following:
Science & Ethics
Physics I
Psychology II AP/IB
World Lit
20th Century Lit
English Comp/Lit 12 AP/IB
Government
Economics
Required Study Hall (aka Student Assistant! woot)
....and I think that's it. :D

Speech SUCKS. I only had to give... 3 speeches? Informative (dog shows  ), Career (graphic design), Persuasive (censorship sucks, my best IMO). Ironic that the 10-minute one was both the easiest and my best one o_O

:wavey: I would just take courses in summer school and graduate early, but I can't really do that. I really only need to take Econ, Gov, and Physics and I'm good to go. I made it a point to take the lighter courses for my senior year after this year, which is HELL. Hence, why I'm trying to drop AP History. It's faaaar too much for me to handle right now.

My word. I started college while I was still in high school and even I didn't take so many classes.

Damn! At my high school, we could only take seven classes a year. (Don't you have eight for your last year?) How long are the class periods? And we didn't have anything called "Science & Ethics." I'm sure that if we did, they would've said, "Teaching human evolution is unethical." Ugh, the South. We didn't have an economics class, either. I know I would've been bored to tears in it.

You should be an English major/History minor like me who has years and years of post-graduate work ahead of her.

Hee. Well, a lot of mine are 1-semester, like Economics, Government, World Lit, 20th Century Lit, etc. Science & Ethics takes up two periods. Physics, English, Psych and the required study hall are all year-long. I had it all figured out somewhere, but I turned it in to my counselor a few weeks ago.

My high school was on block. We had 4 classes each semester for 90 minutes a piece. It was a cake walk. Homework was minimal and the 90 minutes gave up plenty of time to finish things properly in order to make better grades.

Oh! Some are 1-semester. I guess that explains why you can take so many classes.

90 minutes, though! I get antsy in college when I take those hour and fifteen minute classes. (Well, only if it's a subject I can't stand). An hour and thirty minutes! Oh, what am I saying? I'm taking a night class that's three hours long next semester. Crazy me.

I've had 8 hour lectures. Those are hell. In fact, I have one on eating disorders this Thursday. It is my last one ever!

Well, I suppose it's never too late to change your major! Still, everyone was annoyed with me when I changed mine. And then I was annoyed with myself for having to go an extra semester of undergrad school because of it.

Hee. We're on block scheduling, so we have 4 classes per day and each period is 90 minutes.

*busts out Paint and makes a diagram* OwWwWwW, the compression!)!(@)!*#!)(@

So as you can see, it all works out nicely. :) My basic strategy is to pick the classes that interest me. Hence, Science & Ethics (which sounds like Theory of Knowledge 2.0, and I'm in love with that class), World Lit, 20th Century Lit, Psych, etc. :D

At my school, we're required to have a certain amount of credits in each field in order to graduate, and all I really need is another Lab Science (hence, Physics) and Government & Econ, which are required anyway. I'd take them in summer school, but I'd apparently have no time to get them overwith. And then I'd have to make out a new schedule, and my school? Doesn't offer much in the way of interesting courses. So yeah.

Your school doesn't? Mine had the bare bones! We didn't have any AP courses, and we certainly didn't have Science & Ethics. We had math, science, English, history, choir, band...all that general stuff. Nothing special at all. Gong to college was like, "Wow! A real education with the teachers actually teaching instead of sitting at the desk and sleeping the whole time!"

Same here. We did have a "Creative writing" and "computer concepts" (which was basically just surfing the Internet.)

yeah. that one seems more fun. I already took one commercial law, and it was pretty challenging.
I have same teacher for both, a friend said he was really, really easy... Like he told stories all during intellectual property

Did you attempt to ford the river or wait 5 days to take the ferry? :p
