Deanna on nationally...

Hey all -

So I'm very excited - I've achieved one of my career goals today.... :]

Tomorrow morning a piece I did will air on NPR's Morning Edition...

Now I know some of you no longer listen to NPR - but hey - I'll be on lol..

And to make it easy....my story will be about 10 minutes til 7am (6:50) - and then again at 10 minutes til 9am (8:50).

yea! I'm totally beat from many edits and audio sending etc...if ya don't catch me there I'll post a link to it when it becomes available on the NPR website :)

You sound fabulous, darling. :xoxo:

And this Wegmans is awesome. I've never heard of it before, but it sounds like a fab place to work. Wonder why they make the employess pay for insurance now, though.

Insurance is only $3 a week now :p - I guess the cost buden became too great for the company...didn't have time to put that into the story - though I tried

And it is a great company - only place I shop for groceries anymore..>Wal-Mart can kiss my A**!!!

Wow, that's fantastic. I'm surprised I've never heard of them. Go figure, a company that cares about the employees. What a concept, eh?

I know - while standing there covering it and seeing the pride and happiness in the worker's faces - I was thinking, "damn. I shoudl get a job at Wegmans - I wonder if they need PR people..."

Then I had a hope of marrying into the Wegman family - but stupid Danny Wegman only has daughters...oh well...

I know, I'd work there for the insurance benefits alone. $3 a week is unheard of!

Serrart 01-11-2005 03:31 PM

Congratulations Deanna!

golddustwoman77 01-11-2005 04:15 PM

Congratulations Deanna. You go girl.

Sorceress 01-13-2005 10:02 PM

I am an NPR addict and I listen whenever I'm in my car, but I thought I'd missed your story because I was running late that day. I was driving to work listening to this story on Wegman's, thinking it sounded like a cool place to work, enjoying the story...then I heard your sign off! I got really exicted, thinking "I didn't miss it! I don't really know that person, but I know that person! " Seriously, you sounded just like the regular NPR correspondants, which I say as a compliment to your professionalism. Congratulations :)

pianogirl04 01-14-2005 05:35 PM

Deanna, this is fabulous! You've got a great voice! Congratulations! I got so excited when I was listening to it -- I was like, "I KNOW HER!" lol...
