½ ¡Ñ§ÅñË ® thoughts. What if people broke into song in real life?
I was at a friends house last night watching a musical film and she said “Wouldn’t it be funny if we lived our lives where groups of people broke out singing and dancing randomly for no apparent reason at all”? :lol:At the office, or in the grocery store. At the gas pumps. We were pretty baked when she said it and I’ve been thinking about it today.
I’m trying to think of a song and vision a large group of people singing and dancing to it in a scene, but I’m drawing a blank. What do you think? Crank it up. Let’s sing and dance. |
I dunno. But i always thought something like that should happen in the laundrymat. it just seems obvious...

I can see the post office, too. Especially when it's crowded.

I thought of this same concept a very long time ago (who could ever see a musical and not think of it?) And it's fun to think about. |

HA! That's the exact song that came to mind when I posted that!!!

A barber shop, but thats a bit cliche.

Police Station, Hospital, Factory some more places I could think of!
|
How about if everyone stopped and got out of they’re cars on an interstate highway and sang something? Hmm?
|
The DMV would be great. geez, that place sucks!
|
Yea the DMV does suck. I'd be afraid I'd get shot if I broke out in song and dance there!

Dick Van Dyke had some crazy musicals. I love “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.”

Awwww. I just had a Buffy Musical moment. Tear, tear, saliva.
BUFFY: So, did anybody, um... last night, did anybody, oh... burst into song? XANDER: Merciful Zeus! WILLOW: We thought we were the only ones! It was bizzare! GILES: Well, I sang, but I have my guitar at the hotel and I often... TARA: We were talking, and then... it was like... BUFFY: Like you were in a musical? GILES: ...Of course, that would explain the huge backing orchestra I couldn't see and the synchronized dancing from the room-service chaps... ANYA: ...And we were arguing, and then everything rhymed, and there were harmonies and a dance with coconuts.... XANDER: It was very disturbing. GILES (to Buffy): What did you sing about? BUFFY: I, uh... I don't remember. But it seemed perfectly normal. XANDER: But disturbing. And not the natural order of things. Do you think it'll ever happen again? 'Cause I'm all for the natural order of things. GILES: We should look into it. WILLOW: Exactly. With the books, and mulling... There could be mulling. TARA: Do we have any books about this? XANDER: Well, we've just gotta break it down, look at the factors, before it happens again --- [everyone breaks into song] Swoon. I need to listen to the soundtrack again. |
DAWN: Oh my God, you will NEVER believe what happened at school today.
BUFFY: (not looking up from her magazine) Everbody started singing and dancing? DAWN: (glaring) I gave birth to a pterodactyl. -_- ANYA: Oh my God! Did it sing?! DAWN: So you guys, too, huh? XANDER: So, what'd you sing about? DAWN: Math. TARA: That's right! The volume! The text. The volumey... text! Oh, I love that episode. <3<3 |
Am I the only one that actually breaks into song in public? I honestly do it all the time. The Nursing faculty thinks I'm a nut case because I just sing and sing during lectures....I try to stay professional during rotations, but sometimes I :twirl: down the hall when no one is looking.
|
Yes...I think you ARE the only one!!!

Heh.
XANDER: It's a nightmare! A plague! It's like a nightmare about a plague! ANYA: It has to be stopped, Rupert! (Xander and Anya begin talking at the same time) XANDER: It was just like, I didn't wanna be saying things but they just kept pouring out of me and they rhymed and they were mean, and --- ANYA: I felt like we were being watched, like a wall was missing from our apartment, like there were only three walls and not a fourth wall and --- XANDER: Giles, you gotta stop it! GILES: Well, I am following a few leads, and -- ANYA: Plus, our number was clearly a retro pastiche that's never gonna be a breakaway pop hit. XANDER: Work with me, British man. Give me an axe and show me where to point it. GILES: As ever, it's not quite that simple. But I have learned something quite disturbing... (A woman getting a parking ticket beings singing to the cop, drowning out their conversation) WOMAN: I've been having a bad, bad day... come on, won't you put that pad away? I'm asking you, please, no! It isn't right, it isn't fair! There was no parking anywhere! I think that hydrant wasn't there! Why can't you let it go? I think I've paid more than my share, I'm just a poor girl, don't you care? --- (she fades out as we rejoin the group) ANYA: I don't know. One more verse of our little ditty and I woulda been lookin' for the gas can. |
