Though this may be a metaphoric expression or just to add "magic" to the shows and illusion to their fans, I think Lindsey's wife was not amused. What do you think?

I could care less. I wish Stevie would interact with the crowd more than with Lindsey. Some moments are cool to watch (SHN, SS, GYOW), but not every song.

Actually I was being tongue-in-cheek because of recent comments regarding the "Curtis & Johnny Affair." ;)

As for Lindsey and Stevie... I think their chemistry is both real and embellished at the same time. Personally, it doesn't bother me. I'm not a shipper, so I don't eat it up... but it's no sweat off my back that they do it.

And, really, outside of "Silver Springs," "Say Goodbye" and "Landslide"... it's not like they play it up that much. Everything else is just typical lead singer/lead guitarist interaction.
Hell, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry flirt more with each other when they're on stage, than Lindsey and Stevie do! :laugh:

that's exactly how i feel. I just don't like it when it looks super fake. Lindsey's usually looks less fake than stevie's. But i think Lindsey is a better actor, so who knows? What i don't like is stevie's lasso dance.... :laugh:

I really enjoyed the article that the quote came from. I don't know - there's something special about this band and it's relationships. I hope that anything between Stevie and Lindsey outside of friendship begins and ends in the heat of the moment on stage because it seems like Lindsey has a pretty nice life and wife and kids and I'd like to think he isn't dumb enough to screw that up. However, I wouldn't have it (what happens on stage) any other way.

I also doubt Stevie's going to have another man in her life. Been there done that? No one wants to be Mr. Stevie Nicks.

No, i think they just switch. I think when Stevie yells at Linds, then he looks like he doesn't care. and vice verse. sometimes Lindsey seems to get really emotional.

And I've always liked it.

I like the drama.

I like the idea that some spark of something remains (even if it's played up) after all these years. It gives the eternal romantic in me hope that feelings remain (even after...oops, wrong lyrics). And I don't mean, hopping in the sack behind someone's back type of feelings. I mean, well...just love in some form. It's nice to think that some relationships, even wacko ones, last forever.

And, to me, it is fun.

I thought about this subject a lot in the aftermath of the Dance concert tour. I think, basically, Lindsey and Stevie have a lot of integrity as human beings. At least, I hope so. If they totally had no feelings for each other at all...I don't think they'd mess with the audience in this way.

I think that quote was completely genuine. I think Stevie is very, very into her songs and into her performance. Didn't Javier from Fritz once say that her early Rhiannon performances were like exorcisms? She's ALWAYS been dramatic. I think it's absolutely in keeping with her personality, her love of her music and the feelings behind her lyrics to feel that way in performance. And I think you don't play guitar like Lindsey without being as passionate about his music, perhaps in a slightly different way, as she is about hers.
So, you have two people with a huge and fiery history on stage singing together LONG after a time when things got so bad between them that they never thought such a thing would be possible again. And different days probably bring different feelings--maybe they are thinking about lyrics, maybe they are thinking of the early days, or how far they've come or what they might have for dinner later--but...I think, sometimes, it's completely possible to have that "in love" feeling again.

BUT, I think they draw the line at what goes on on-stage and what goes on off-stage. I really do view them as an older divorced couple who have known each other most of their lives and have a good relationship now--most of the time. As far as his wife is concerned, knowing next to nothing about her except the fact that she's still married to him--I would think she accepts their relationship and accepts the stage performance. At the very least, I do believe the stage stuff would be toned down if she had a real problem with it.

And, you know, having been to quite a few concerts, the Stevie-Lindsey interaction isn't all the woman COULD worry about, if she were so inclined. There is a lot of flirting going on with the ladies in the audience and Mr. Buckingham. I think Kristen is probably a hell of a lot more secure than we, as fans, give her credit for.

I think though the actions are rote - the emotion is genuine. I call it as I see it - but others saw it too and thought it contrived - I thinkl they are wrong. But, who am I to keep them down :laugh:

"Say Goodbye"? I have to say that I wouldn't want my wife to dedicate that song to me. It doesn't really make sense, does it? Not the song, just the idea of dedicating it to your spouse. :shrug: :shrug:

Chris has a girlfriend who is some big time European model. She is Asian as a matter of fact! I have always thought Chris and Stevie would make a cute couple.

As for the quote and thread topic, Stevie made that quote in 1997 before Liddy had a wife. So Kristen would have no reason to be upset about that one. Another one though, from MOJO, I have wondered about.
"now I just adore him. He is my love, my first love, my love for all time, but we can never be together. He is married"..........."I look at him now and say 'oh Stevie, you made a mistake'". Now how well would that sit with you if you were married to the man this quote was about? I? would be pissed.

I agree with all those who have said that the stage stuff is both, contrived and genuine. Depending on the song, the night and just what is happening at the time. They seem to go back and forth in terms of emotion and intensity. One night LB will seem into it and Stevie will be paying no attention and the next night it will be switched.

Oh and as for the Dance and Hillary's comments on Silver Springs..I do not think Lindsey looks like he could care less. I think he looks, at first, like he is just flabbergasted and thinking "oh my God". He seems genuinely surprised at her intensity and to me, he looks like he wishes he could hide behind his guitar. Then, he gets into it, looking intently at her, sort of tightening up like he is giving it back to her. I just don't get the sense that he could care less, more like he just wasn't expecting her onslaught of emotion.

the thing about the Dance that always bugs me is after Landslide when SN and LB are thanking one another.

Lindsey's "thank you" seems sooooo phony to me. Maybe it wasn't, but it looked like he thought it was cheesy to say it. However, he genuinely looked into it during "silver springs".

that always bugged me too. she's supposed to be all into fate and destiny and that you can never change anything cause it's made you what you are. so, after that statement i wonder how much she really believes in destiny.

for her sake, i really hope she's not beating herself up over him. they can never go back to being a couple again. there's a reason for everything. and the reason they are friends is so that they can make music again. and THAT is worth much more than being in love with each other (romantically). THAT (the music) will last a long long long time. In a hundred years do you think anyone's gonna know who Kristen is? No offense to her of course. However, they WILL know FM and SN/LB's music. I guess this is what i'd say to stevie if i thought she was still pining away for lindsey. in other words, Lindsey's could be married to anyone but people are always gonna associate him with stevie. then again, after just writing that i guess that's not such a great thing for lindsey or his wife. oh well. this whole thing is screwy!

Sort of makes me think of a couple my in-laws know that had the Beatles' "Yesterday" as their wedding song. Something's just not quite right about that LOL.

SN and LB are in love=:-) but it's not romantic anymore-they seem to comprehend each other. I don't think it is all made up, I really don't. However i don't thinbk Lindsey's going to leave Kristen for Stevie or anything like that. Nor would Stevie want him to.

The kind of relationship that exists between Stevie and Lindsey is a mystery that I don't feel the urge to resolve. I definitely haven't any tool to understand what remains between a couple of rockstars that have known each other for 40 years and shared along the way any kind of good and bad feeling. They both look to be in a good place now; obviously I'm a bit curious, but whatever it is, it seems to work for them, and that's all I need to know. Their chemistry as performers, that goes beyond the ritual gestures which I see more as a game, is huge, and I'm grateful they're still giving us such great music and concerts. :thumbsup:

The only thing I really can't believe is the picture of Stevie without a love interest; from what I read she's very good in keeping her relationships private. I think for a woman in her position, the choice to be very reserved can give her and the guy in question, the freedom they need, without the risk of any useless media pressure or "Mr.Nicks" label.

I think on the Dance, Silver Springs is more real, more in the moment, more convincing, where as on Boston, they're playing it up more, making it seem more intense, more angry and Lindsey's more into it, therefore making it a better performance to watch, IMO.
