Another dream thread...

So my show isn't on because the Robert Gonzalez hearing...so I have some time...

Anyway - I had what was probably one of the weirdest dreams ever last night - and was wondering if any of you all have had any strange/exciting or just any dreams you'd like to share...

I enjoy dreaming and I like to share the weird ones sometime...so here goes (and I'm thinking I may keep taking the cough syrup I took last night ;) )...

Okay so I'm at some sort of zoo or something with some friends and there's an otter pool...so my friend just jump on in like it's no big deal. Well this freaks me out but then an otter starts swimming toward me very fast - and it comes up on the rock on which I'm standing and is just there - so I pet it - and it's very cute and friendly...so I decide to jump into the water too...

Okay so then another day I'm back at the zoo place and swimming with the otters (there are two) and I say hello to the otter I had pet, and to my surprise it says hello back!!

Well this confuses me as I've never known an otter to talk - so I ask it how it's talking - and she tells me that I am actually talking otter (so it was like when Harry talked to the snake in the second Harry Potter - and he heard himself talking normally but really he was speaking snake...) so that's what I was doing apparently.

Well I'm totally excited because this means I can be friends with cute otters...but then the otter swims aways and a friend of mine is hugging the other otter when on the other side of the pool a woman dressed in safari gear shoots the other otter - misses and shoots my friend Otter...and I'm totally crushed by this.

Okay - so then all of a sudden I'm in an outdoor restaurant type thing with my best friend from middle school - and she's there with her dad and so we just sit and chat for a long time and all...and she says she's just trying to get along with her dad (they never did get along) so which I finally ask, "wait. Didn't your dad die?"

So she says, "Yes, but you know what a control freak he is - he says he didn't want to go until things were left HIS way..." and I accept this as totally normal....

Anyway - that was long and if you actually suffered through it then thanks - it was definitely one of the weirder dreams I've ever had

amber 01-06-2005 05:15 PM

I thought that was interesting. I really like Otters, though, so i thought that would be a cool dream for me to have. Except the shooting part.
the other dream - right now i am reading a book by Jonathan Carroll where a guy dies, but is allowed to resume his life for various strange reasons having to do with his unborn son, who engineered it. I am only partway through, but anyway, that was interesting you had a dream like that.
:wavey: cool!

GardenStateGirlie 01-06-2005 05:33 PM

I've had some bizarre dreams recently too. However, lay off the cough syrup  ;)

DrummerDeanna 01-06-2005 05:34 PM

I also enjoy otters - so it was cool that I got to talk to one...

The night before last I had a totally bizarre dream too - seriously - I'm thinking I may stick with this cough syrup :p

That's a great dream as Amber said, except for the shooting part. Otters really are so cute, I watched them for a long time when I went to the zoo this past fall. They had some Jaguar cubs there which is why we went and then we also saw the otters, I've got some cool pics of them, they are so playful! They were chasing each other around through the water, down the water slide, accross the grass, it was so funny!

aww. I love them. That's also my animal. you know, the animal I resemble? Most people have one. I, of course, would be a river otter rather than an ocean one. Is there any way we could see some of your pics?

MirrorInTheSky 01-06-2005 06:10 PM

I had a dream about an animal, too, the other day. I dreamt that I climbed aboard a whale carcass adrift at sea and just sort of hung out. What does that mean?

I was gonna say something about his love life being like a big stinking whale carcass, but...

I once had a dream that I put on my own big theatrical concert, but fell into the pits during my last number and broke my back. Anjelica Huston jumped to help me, but got trampled by the crowd. And then I awoke. :p Weirdest dream I've ever had.

BTFLCHLD 01-06-2005 06:43 PM

i've have def had my share of thought provoking dreams...

but i will share a "weird" childhood dream

a talking bumblebee was stuck in my bike spokes...

I've died a couple of times. The most memorable was by a ninja. With a machete. And I felt it. o_o

I love my weird trippy nonsensical dreams. Most of them involve school. There was one where there was a school scavenger hunt or something and a bunch of my teachers were there, but it was at some mansion place. And the Olsen Twins were there.

A few nights ago I had a dream where I was in Michigan with a friend and there was a play/marching band performance in the middle of the streets. I was on top of a building with a matress as the rooftop. And I had a butcher's knife. Then people started jumping on it, and I was all freaked out that they'd cut themselves with said butcher's knife, since I didn't have it at the time. And then we went to the mall and my friend was totally obsessed with a candy store. Aaaaand then we went driving. And got pulled over. And that's all I remember.

My dreams never make sense, yo.

BTFLCHLD 01-06-2005 06:57 PM

The BEST dream I ever had was a couple of years ago...

In the dream I opened an old book (that i really do have) and inside was a note. I opened the note, and as I read the note, I could hear my deceased father's voice reading aloud to me the words... "Don't ever think I am not always there with you."

that's really strange and beautiful. How comforting.
I dream a lot that someone is chasing me to kill me. I always have to escape from someone. But then, if they catch me, and cut me with knives, I'm always pleasantly suprised cause i can't feel it. So, now, when i have those dreams, i'm usually able to stop them sooner, because i go "oh, it's one of those dreams, nothing will happen if they catch me." which is good, cause it's hard to have that super panicky feeling all night. It's very wearing... :)

BTFLCHLD 01-06-2005 07:10 PM

from the sound of some of these...seems like peeps have a lot of stress in their lives...

climbing a deadass carcass actually probably sounds pretty good, eh? ;)

That's how the ninja killed me! Except for the "Ican't feel it" part. :\

I have great flying dreams on occasion. Damn they are fun.

sara1998 01-06-2005 08:52 PM

Last time I had a dream, it was about Jason. He was in a halfway house, and I went to visit him. He was curled up on a couch sleeping, and he was cold. So, I covered him up with a green blanket, and layed on top of him to keep him warm. He said thanks and I love you, and that was about it.

Last night, Sara was cracking me up. She must of had a funny dream, because she was talking in her sleep saying peter piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, but she couldn't say it right, and was laughing! She woke me up, and I was laughing so hard at her.....

I've had a dream where penguins are parachuting out of the Enterprise (from the old Star Trek) and shooting at me. I really can't understand what the point of it is.

I think that's the coolest thing I've read in a long time. :)

I neglected to mention the intensity of his physical presence which made the dream even more remarkable for me.
