Poll Time!

If you were around when Lind Buck said goodbye to the 'fro, how did you feel about it at the time? Were you shocked and appalled that he could even consider cutting off his gorgeous tresses*? Or relieved that the awful travesty that went by the name of "the 'fro" was finally out of our lives forever?

GateandGarden 01-06-2005 02:39 PM

I don't like the fro at all. The pics with the fro are my least fave pics of him.

amber 01-06-2005 03:33 PM

I wasn't "around" but i love, love, love the fro. the thing that bugs me, lindsey wise, is when he was wearing obvious makeup, and his brows were all dark and pointy. bleah!!!

I loooooove the tusk look, lipgloss and pointy eyebrows and all , so, goodbye fro, hello lindseypixie!

WaterDragon 01-06-2005 04:11 PM

Hey Mari, is your avatar from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy?

I was about 3 years old when Lindsey ditched the fro, so I don't really remember, but I really dig the Tusk look. I think in terms of being a "hottie," the Tusk era was definitely it for him...although, he is still very attractive nowadays.

Yes, I like Lindsey all made-up, too. I definitely prefer that to the fro. And I've said this before, but LINDSEY IN THE "LITTLE LIES" video. Wow. The guy is hot.

Mmmmhmmmm, me too. There's maybe one picture of him with the fro that I really like, and that's mainly because he's smiling big. His face is too hot to be covered by all of that hair!!

WelshWitchPMD 01-06-2005 06:05 PM

I was surprised that he actually had a cute face under all of that hair.

I like him the way he looks now. No crazy make-up.

That's because he looked gayer than the audience of a Liza Minnelli concert there!

Johnny Stew 01-07-2005 12:05 AM

I love the pictures of Lindsey with his unruly chestnut brown locks, sans the facial hair. He just looks so... for lack of a better word... scrumptious. :D

I didn't like the "Eraserhead" look from the '80s much, nor the effete 'Tusk' era look.

At this moment in time I think he's the hottest he's been since the mid-70s. Even if he is a year younger than my father. :o

I was only one year old when Lindsey cut the fro but I love it! I think it looks cool.

I always thought a that LB looked his most dashing during the recording of 'We are the World' .

Hey does anyone have a picture of him in that atrocious coat, talking to Bob Dylan or someone?

I can't say I was a huge fan of the afro, or the heavily made-up look of the Tusk era, or the eraser-head period.

To me his 'Mirage' period was pretty gorgeous, and i also found him stunningly attractive around 1993, when I saw him on his solo tour. yuummm.

He looks great now as well...during The Dance his face looked a little puffy and droopy IMO-- I think he had a bit of work done to restore it to the splendor it is today. :)

But i should end by saying that at NO point would I have *ever* thrown him out of bed, regardless of what his current hair situation happened to be. I would've learned to live with it. :D

I guess my favorite look would be the Mirage period too, 'cause that's really when I "discovered" him for the hottie he is on the "Hold Me" video.

But, no I'd never have thrown him outta bed, either! :]

Yes, as good as Stevie looks in that video, I think Lindsey and Christine both look better. They are both incredibly hot in that video! Stevie's writhing and sitting pretty and all that are fantastic, but the stars of that video are the best. And, yeah, this is coming from a Stevie fanatic. :]

Really? I don't think he had work done. I've always kind of thought that he might have had health problems during the Dance era. He kind of looked like he had a bit of moon face, like someone who's on Prednisone (a powerful anti-inflammatory medication that often causes quick weight gain, and is associated with a "puffy" looking face). You can really see it on the last two pictures of page 13 (Lindsey solo) on www.buckinghamnicks.net. But who knows, maybe he was just depressed or something???

I liked the Fro, but my favorite Lindsey look will always be OOTC. Yummy.

macmar71 01-07-2005 05:52 PM

I must say no fro is the LB I like as I was definitely too young to really enjoy the White album/Rumours era. I got into the man, LOL, that was a good one! around 1982 so I love his Mirage days and even the Tusk days and hey everything after that!!!! :)

Awesome! I didn't know that. I loved the BBC version (at least I think it was the BBC version.) That's great news! Thanks! "The answer to life, the universe and everything is....42."

I find Lindsey with all that manly facial hair very hot! But the OOTC cleanshaven and gorgeous look is a very close second. I'd say The Dance and SYW are tied for third.

Hey Mari,

Thanks for the info! I can't wait! :blob2: I checked out Martin Freeman's official website, and you can play a game where you try to shoot as many Babel fish into his ear as you can in a minute. I wonder who's going to play Zaphod's second head? Take care.

I wasn't around during the fro days, but I sure think he looked mighty good with it. Love the big curly mane.

Vianna 01-15-2005 11:53 PM

I can't say I like the hirsute Lindsey. I love his face and you can't see it under the hair!!=:-)

I love the Mirage era look. Just so-o-o-oo cute.

Go Insane-eraser head-NO.

Like him now too

glitter_fades 01-16-2005 03:00 AM

It was one of the most traumatic periods of my college days. No beard? No fro? Please, no! Say it aint so! :]

I thought LB was so hot in the 70's. Every guy I dated in those days had a full beard with long hair or a fro. Most cool guys had that look back then. Tusk was quite a shock. From hot and studly to gay blade was almost too much for me to bear. It was a long time before I wanted to look at him as much as listen to him. I thought Tusk was a brilliant album when it came out. I just didn't want anyone showing me those gay LB pics inside. Oiy! At least John was looking very hot then. I never thought Lindsey stopped looking gay until the OOTC period (my second favorite look after the 70's caveman.) I understand the appeal he has with some gay men, except the gay guys I know liked his hairy, studly look better than the andro, too. lol!

I love the fro, but I love ever Lindsey hair era. He is just beautiful with a lot of hair or with less hair. Here are some of my favorite Lindsey looks from some of his different hair periods.
