Your perception of where other Ledgies live.....

I thought it would be interesting for us to each share our *perceptions* (granted, many of them will be false) of the cities/states/countries where other Ledgies live. The place itself and/or the people who live there. Now be honest...if anyone gets offended, just view it as your chance to improve/correct others' perceptions.

I'll start:

Seattle, WA (USA)

*awaits comments on grunge music, people in plaid flannel shirts and ****ty weather.....*

(Hey, at least we're a BLUE state! I don't even care about politics, but I'm still glad to be blue!)

Gypsy-Rhiannon 12-26-2004 04:42 AM

The only thing I've heard about Seattle is it rains alot? Is that right? Surely it can't rain more than England though! LOL!

DownOnRodeo 12-26-2004 05:11 AM

Frasier lived there!

face of glass 12-26-2004 06:01 AM

Brisbane, from what I've understood, is a nice little city filled with Kookaburra cafés, some people with tyrannic tendencies and occasional Led Zeppelin/Queen references.

in finland, the sun sets at 2pm, so blonds stay in their saunas and have sex there.

Tel Aviv, Israel...

Tension! But a beautifully historic place.

considering that it was only established in 1909, no, not really.

I have to admit when I think of Seattle I do think of a lot people wearing flannel shirts with nappy long Kurt Cobain-esque hair, in the drenching rain...

I live in Atlanta, GA (well Metro Atlanta) ...any perceptions of Atlanta??

Chris

Well, I have been to Atlanta a few times and all I can say is TRAFFIC!
Not really a place that I am dying to visit again.

Don't even get me started on that airport or should I say DELTA. :distress: The shops there are really nice, however I did not have time to visit any last time I was there thanks to Delta. :p

You just have to know the right places to go , and the places to stay away from

I was always under the impression that polar bears are roaming the streets singing "Silver Girl" where Gaius lives. I don't know how I came up with that.

ps-Chicago also has GREAT blues club & music, "Da Bears" (!!!) & the Sears Tower...And of course there's the toilet bowl stadium on the southside where the White SUX call home

ShangriLaTroubl 12-26-2004 12:54 PM

For some reason when I think of Chicago I of course think of wind, and Bruce Springsteen for some reason...Oh and baseball

Has anyone noticed the sh*tload of us Hoosiers that hang out here? I just find it odd that there seem to be so many of us.

ontheEdgeof17 12-26-2004 01:21 PM

Well, this is depressing. I live in a town that is not near a major city in my state. My state doesn't even have a major city. We barely have a 6 lane road....if we even do. No one cares about my state. It is just there.

Oh well....here it goes....

Philippi, WV....nowhere near a known city.

(Pss....Philippi is the location of the first land battle of the Civil War. We have an active covered bridge that runs through town. Guests get all excited because they get to drive through it. I drive over it every day...it's not a big deal anymore.)

I think of Gary as merely a suburb of Chicago. Make sure your tank's full, and drive as fast as possible!
I wouldn't stop there unless someone had a gun to my head.......which is exactly why you don't stop there!
Maybe the smell's what turn Wacko Jacko into the freakazoid he is.

I love Atlanta. It is so green, warm, southern and cosmopolitan all at the same time. It really is beautiful.

Atlanta...

Traffic, more traffic, an airport I will never walk all the way through again, and a packed Georgia Dome for the Peach Bowl.

Chicago...

Cold winters, baseball, wind, and I think of E.R.

I most likely don't want to know anyone's conceptions about Alabama and Alabamians. :distress:

Gadzooks Curtis. I have a buddy that lives in Galloway right up the road from you. We go hunting together every year. I know people in Harper’s Ferry, and I go to Charles Town to gamble every once in awhile. I’ve hiked a lot of mountains down in that area. The state has some beautiful sights but does get a bad rap. We crack jokes about you up here in Maryland. I’m about 2 hours north of you in Western Maryland. :wavey:

I’ve seen a few back woods hillbillies I’d say looked a little strange but it’s still pretty wild country. In a way I admire the way they live. I might be buying some property down there this summer. You can’t beat the prices. I’ll continue to live in Maryland but damn our land taxes are high up here. You have any nude bars in your area? The girls are wild in West Virginia. :]

I can’t end this without a joke. Water flows down hill so give me a holler if the well starts to run dry. I’ll give my toilet some extra flushes for ya. :xoxo:

That's why I added the rolling eyes! I too, used to love him. Because his music was fun, and kinda rocked. But, he became an "artiste". He's so full of himself, with all his political postering. He's convinced himself he's on a par with Dylan. (What's up with artist's comparing themselves to Dylan?   )
And, on a personal note, he's an horse's ass!
