What do you collect?

What types of things do you collect? Check all that apply! :D

Hawkeye 12-16-2004 10:47 PM

I picked CD's and demos/live shows

wondergirl9847 12-16-2004 10:58 PM

Oh mercy...

I collect lots of stuff. CD's, vinyl, some posters, a few 45's, photos, etc. I have a Tusk tourbook, but I don't have any others, so I didn't check that one. LOL I download as many complete shows as I can from various sites too. :)

amber 12-16-2004 11:13 PM

Nothing, really. I've saved all my ticket stubs, though. And i make BW Stevie picture collages...

seeker007nmss 12-16-2004 11:36 PM

I collect a little bit of everything. Didn't start out that way, just kinda got there! LOL

TwistedGypsy 12-16-2004 11:45 PM

I also collect a little bit of everything but my favorites are vinyl and magazines. I have a fairly large collection of magaines but not just all FM related. Another obession of mine.

My fave thing to collect is tourbooks. If I go to a show (by anyone), and they have a tourbook, I buy it no matter what the cost. I have a pretty nice collection, if I do say so myself. And it's interesting to compare the Mac and Mac members' books to those of other bands.

I also checked the "Other" category, because I didn't see books or magazines/press clippings listed. I used to be really into it, and had several scrapbooks of Stevie/Mac articles & interviews. But since the dawn of the Net, that obsession has thankfully subsided. :D

EnchantedSLN 12-16-2004 11:55 PM

I checked everything. Not so much on the buttons/vinyl/ticket stubs (except for saving my own) though. My favorite things to collect are posters & photos.

amber 12-17-2004 12:07 AM

Um...I have a lot of magazine articles/clippings about Bette Davis. :D

ricohv 12-17-2004 01:58 AM

Yes, thank God for the internet to terminate the stress of hearing that Stevie was mentioned in last week's People that now of course you can't find anywhere-and someone else already stole it from the dentist's office!
I was collecting little bits of everything (which I still sort of do) but my Ebay spending got WAY out of hand that way, so then I decided to focus primarily on singles, especially 45's in their original covers. I basically have all of Rumours era (Mac and solo) singles. Now I've started collecting pre-rumours 45's in original picture sleeves and all the cd single imports, etc. Even that has been very spendy though. And my tourbook collection is pretty complete. The Rumours tourbook is super cute w/ goofy pictures and descriptions of each member. I am missing the Street Angel tourbook and have never seen it anywhere. I hear I'm not missing much (except the completion of my collection-which makes it "much"). Anyone got one for sale?!?!?!?

I have collected Cds, Vinyl, posters. tour books, photos, demos and live shows. I really don't collect ticket stubs but I have quite a few in some old handbags.

I should really try and make a collage with some of my photos along with the ticket stubs. I am just not that motivated, however. :distress:

ontheEdgeof17 12-17-2004 03:04 AM

If it is music related, I collect it. My bootleg collection is growing rapidly. I don't care for anything else at the moment....just the music.

Ebay! But it always goes for a ton of money as it seems the most difficult to get hold of!

What areas do you collect? FDC's? Singles? PlateBlocks? What countries?

estranged4life 12-18-2004 02:19 AM

I voted...

for Cd's, Photos & Demos/live shows.

golddustwoman77 12-19-2004 06:16 PM

I collect all of those things! I'm too much of a completist to have just one group of those things. I know I'm crazy! :]

macmar71 12-19-2004 09:36 PM

I collect a little bit of everything but tourbooks are probably my favorite thing to collect and then photos and demos & live shows would follow. :D

JamieSPC 12-20-2004 11:54 AM

I have about 600 DVDs... silly, but I like having a big film library.

I also collect Stephen King stuff: books, magazines, memoribilia. For some reason, I've been crazy about his stuff since I was a kid. I guess everybody has a dark side.

I guess it goes without saying I like ANYTHING Fleetwood Mac-related: CDs, DVDs, laserdiscs, vinyl, 45s, posters, set lists, signatures, etc.

I took a few pics of some of the stranger things I have in my collection--

--a poster of Mick that frankly scares me since I hate clowns, I refuse to frame this and it sits in my closet....

-- some belt buckles, pins, a patch, ticket stubs...

-- a cool mirror that's right above the computer- it's a bit tacky to have it in my kitchen but I LOVE it.

--a mirror my MIL found at a garage sale for a dollar, and a glass (I actually bought 2 of them at a rummage sale for 50 cents each.)

I have the black belt buckle, and a variation of the penguin mirror(I think it's a variation- I've not seen it for quite some time, so my memory's fading.) I'm sure it's hiding in a closet somewhere.

Those belt buckles are heavy! Most of that stuff was actually acquired years ago from a lovely guy who sold us his entire FM collection. He used to be a huge fan, but over the years he decided he wanted to devote more of his time to religion, and clear out all the stuff from his crazy youth, so he asked if we'd be interested in buying his collection. To which I replied, "Alleluia!" :D We picked it up in the parking lot of a music store in Edison NJ back in 1997, and I remember going home and just digging through all these treasures-- records, 45's, articles, magazines, pictures.....oh god it was better than Christmas. I think we got the mirror w/ their faces on it from him also.

Anyone wanna sell their collection LOL? :)

Oh one more stupid thing-- totally OT-- but today I dropped off another bag for Toys for Tots, and as i was putting it in the box, there sat the chubbiest cutest little Christmas penguin I have ever seen, w/ a cap and scarf etc....and for a horrific moment i considered grabbing him and running off with him back to my car LOL. However, I left him there, I did the right thing. (Honestly if no one was around, I might have taken it, and how could I have lived with myself after that?!) But it was so funny to see this little Fleetwood Mac penguin staring up at me from that box; I actually muttered out loud, "Oh my god, a penguin."

You should have bought another toy and traded. :D

I used to collect newspaper clippings, magazine clippings, posters & tour passes, but I threw everything away. I kept my Fleetwood show tapes. Next, I collected some 45s from around the world. Now I can't find those.

Currently, I collect little buttons from the Australian '77 tour.

I used to as well - I mean even before I could drive - my mom used to frop me off at the public library in Lafayette, Louisiana (which actually is quite nice  ) and I would research the band on microfiche (this is like in 1982 LOL) - I would also do the same for The Police because I thought Sting was the COOLEST thing on the planet next to La Nicks

I collected every clipping and piece of memorabilia I could find, from when I fell in love(circa 1978), up until about 1990. I then drifted thru the musical landscape for a few years, until finding my way home. :wavey:
But I've still got every piece of memoribilia.

Cool mirrors! I have about 6 mirrors (and none are of the two you have!) Always something new to be found.
