3 new retarded questions posted at the Nicksfix

The past few Ask Stevie questions have actually been quite good with some really good answers from Stevie, but this latest batch of 3

Quote:

Question 126 - from Jeffrey in LA:
Will you being doing a New Year's Eve Show?

Stevie's answer:

Not this year….

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question 125 - from Sonny G. in Jefferson, WI:
What is your favorite scary movie?

Stevie's answer:

The Haunting of Hill House

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question 124 - from Ammie in Hamilton, Ont., Canada:
Hi Stevie! :)
I'm A Teenage Fan Of Yours! I Was Wondering If You Needed Another Backup Singer?

Stevie's answer:

Not right now, but I’ll keep you in mind!
Seriously could that idiot John Kinney do a better job of filtering what questions reach Stevie. I mean it's kind of intresting to hear what her favorite scary movie is and that's a stretch, but Do you Need a freaking backup singer, because I really would like to be one. That make sme want to throw up. You can't blame Stevie for the SH*T this guy is sending to her.

How reeeeeeeediculous.

"Not this year...." has to be my all-time favorite answer to an Ask Stevie question, bar none. :woohoo:

I love the abundance of dots....makes us feel like there's more, but we don't get to know about it. So, they mirror her answers themselves.

I hope she answers my question - "What does Lindsey smell like?"

And to think I asked her what Battle Of The Dragon was about or how David Crosby ended up on Street Angel (brilliant harmony possibilities wasted there).

TamiP9981 12-06-2004 10:31 PM

The haunting of hill house? that movie was not scary at all. The only good thing about it was the special effects. The book was 10 times better, as they usually are.

I think she's referring to Shirley Jackson's version from '63. :woohoo:

And how unfortunate that three retarded questions begat three retarded answers.
Stevie, oh Stevie, why can you babble away to interviewers and talk show hosts and magazine journalists (the very people who are so ruthless to you sometimes) about holes in your nose you could fly Don Henley's learjet through, and menopausing on tour, and even occasionally such "easy target" fodder like "I married my best friend's widower" (say "I married an ax murderer", less eyebrows would raise!), but can't open your heart (and your mouth) to those of us who have lived like paupers so that we could spend all our $ on you. Our money in your pocket, patrons of your art if you willl, to maintain your rock-n-roll ballerina lifestyle. And yet you throw us crumbs, as if it's part of your High Princess duties to acknowledge the commoners (BUT NOT TOO MUCH!) by answering our Q's (only breif ones that don't thought provoke) with your A's (extremely short so as too avoid risk of carpel-tunnel in your typing/tamborine hand!)
And I'm just being sarcastic guys!!!

Like I said this isn't Stevie's falt. The questions being asked to her SUCK. I think Stevie's answers are her way of saying, send better questions guys and I'll give you better answers.

diamondsnake 12-07-2004 12:41 AM

I don't think it is Stevie answering some of them. The webmaster most likely answered the New Years Eve and backup singer question. Hello? Anyone knows the answer to those questions! So he most likely answered the obvious ones (No you can't be a back-up singer! And if I had a New Years tour I would have told you by now!) So some of them are most likely answered by him. Obviously the movie question is not something her can just pull out of his ass though... so she must have answered that one or he knew she liked that movie from previous experience.

no doubt the "questions" are filtered and of those choices are made to respond, what i find interesting is there are those who had/have waited quite some time for activity on the "ask stevie" page and once she has provided, allbeit tredding lightly, peeps complain as to the content. perhaps they would finally be pleased with a personal letter from ms.nicks in response to the "questions" typed...particularly those of questionable content umhum

hawkeye, IMO, your wordchoices are of particular concern: retarded/idiot

let's try keep in mind that those who have received responses may have hurt feelings by these words, and what may appear as a "lightweight" question to some could be of particular headiness to another. thanks.

i am thankful for john and hardly would refer to him as an idiot. he has provided a well read/loved site for stevie fans and anyone who thinks otherwise is well an... hehe

let's all hope ms.nicks final response isn't "tsk...tsk...tsk"

ricohv 12-07-2004 01:29 AM

I know Amber-and that's why I like you. I always say what I want to, then quickly throw a blanket of diplomacy over it. Whereas, you just say what I want to! ;)

 yeah, but dude, no one in their right brain woulda believed you didn't mean that. It was so...heartfelt, well phrased, and specific. A lovely poem, really... :D
Edit: Wait, wait...typing/tambourine hand?!

Some of those who have gotten responses have asked retarded questions :xoxo: plain and simple. I don't think we should be satisfied that the ask stevie thing is getting activity now. I don't recall ANYONE cmplaining that it wasn't running. I would actually prefer her to get her album out quickly, but I'd also love to hear from her and here her answer questions like she's doing. But why should I praise John Kinney for letting an IDIOTIC question like can I be your back up singer, I'm a teen aged fan look at me, aren't I cute, it pisses me off, and I don't care If I offended whoever asked that question.

For me, Stevie makes up for her lackluster Q and A with her personal letters she writes, and the things she writes to the troops, her last one being the best yet. luckily JK can't "filter" her letters to the troops.

desertangel 12-07-2004 04:28 AM

I still wanna know the inspiration was behind the SYW album cover, so I sent that question in. Man, if there WAS no inspiration... wouldn't that make a great question and answer right about now?!

Question: Stevie, What was the inspiration behind the picture on the cover of SYW?

Answer: There was no inspiration... it's just a picture.

;)  :D :o ;) :p

Yes, thankfully, John had his "wits" about him and was able to post her letter to his site for all of us to enjoy.

I propose the following...

Ask the photographer...or Karen. :p

I bet none of OUR questions from the ledge made it yet. I doubt we asked such questions. (Although my question about wether she eats lucky charm cerial for breakfast falls into that category......KIDDING....I wanted to know if she wore pink fluffy bunny slippers at home that squeak)

skcin 12-07-2004 01:24 PM

I asked "What is the lyric during the musical breaks in Seven Wonders - Tara, Sara or Pharoah?"

The answer I'll be expecting:
"whatever you want it to be........................................."

Anyone else care to predict her answer?

I asked that too! Gosh, she's sure to answer it now! :p Yes, it's not the deepest question, but it is definitely a burning question... :D yay, Paula! Except, of course, you left out the choice "nevah". But, i didn't include Pharoah in mine, so that's ok.

Hawkeye 12-07-2004 01:38 PM

No the Seven Wonders question is great, but it'll never get sent so...

I had nevah (hahaha) thought of pharoah until I read it on The Ledge. I was like "no way" & then the vid came on VH1 Classic one day & it's definitely a possibilty.

Paula

PS: New answer prediction: "It's none of those."

Actually a fan already answered that on this board. It's based on a Japanese movie called Double Suicide, I think.

madformac 12-07-2004 02:17 PM

I'd have liked John McVie to have answered on Stevie's behalf....
Then we would have got some cool replies to those moronic Q's...

Will you being doing a New Year's Eve Show?

Stevie's answer via John:

Yes I will, I'll be naked except for a g-string and some passion fruit, it's for close friends only and you're not invited... Sorry...

What is your favorite scary movie?

Stevie's answer via John:

The Tusk tour documentary

Hi Stevie!
I'm A Teenage Fan Of Yours! I Was Wondering If You Needed Another Backup Singer?

Stevie's answer via John:

No, the next slot actually is going to John's daughter Molly. Sorry, Bette Midler might have an opening... ;)

What is she doing? She gets much too prolofic answering those questions. (end sarcasm) What about this gem of a Q&A?

You've had many dreams come true, but if you were granted one wish, what would it be?

Stevie's answer:

If I had one wish, it would be for world peace….

I'm sure they don't allow 56 year olds to be in the Miss America pageant...

Actually that's one of my favorite answers  . But I agree, some of the questions and relative answers aren't that interesting. Come on Ledgies, bring out your curiosity and ask ask ask!
I'd like to know, for instance, which are the poets and writers who influenced her the most in her songwriting and why.

I fear a bit she would answer " too many to name them..." but I'll try anyway. :D

Chances are she'd say Poe, Wilde, and Elliot. Then she'd trot out Dylan.

If she does answer it I would get something like " as long as you are having fun it's ok" or something like that.
