Diss....
http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0412175/
I've seen this commercial a couple of times. It's got Patricia Arquette and yo man...Jake Weber. Have you seen the commercial? |
Quote:
I was watching The Biggest Loser (and feeling like such an asshole while doing so because I feel so bad for those people) last Tuesday and all of sudden, the commercial came on. The first thing I noticed was that he was practically bare assed and lying in bed (*swoon*). It does look fantastic, though, especially since it's from the guy that did Moonlighting (one of my faves) and Now and Again. Plus, I love Arquette and think she is beautiful. It should be very interesting. Thanks for thinking of me, though. :woohoo: I read that it's actually based on a woman in Arizona, too. |

I saw a few eps of Without A Trace and liked it, but I just never stuck with it for some reason. I saw the one with Kirstie Alley and thought it was great. So, now that that Jake Weber/Patricia Arquette show is coming on, I'll have to chalk up another TV show to watch now. |
Nope..
It's not on DVD, and here is the ranking on TVshowsonDVD.com. If you haven't already, go vote for them both!
Unreleased Rank: 79th Overall Rank: 147th Season Set: 1106 (100%) Best of: 167 (15%) Individual Episodes: 194 (17%) Total Number of Voters: 1111 Here is American Gothic's rankings. I bought American Gothic off of eBay and have been watching it the past couple of weeks. It is such a trip to watch the episodes in order, too. Paige Turco's hair goes from being brown and straight to red and curly from one episode to the next. Jake Weber's hair goes from brown to blonde and he looks thinner or bulkier depending on the episode. Sarah Paulson is a different age with each progressing ep. Gary Cole always looks the same, though. AND- best of all, the DVDs have four episodes that never aired. I didn't like it as much after Dr. Matt got locked up in Juniper House (because my favorite part of the show was the relationship between him and Caleb, and because the eye candy was gone), but it still is one of the best shows ever made. Supposedly, they're making a movie with Lucas, Dr. Matt, Selena, and a few others coming back and then starting it up again on the SciFi channel. If that ever happens, I. Will. Die. |
Bump for Christy because it's on tonight (*swoon*). :wavey:

So how was this show? I'm pissed because I'd meant to watch it, but forgot. I'll check Tivo when I get home and see if they're re-airing the first episode.
|
Oh crap, I missed it too and was looking forward to it. I love psychic stuff and Patricia Arquette. I think she looks so cool in the ads for the show.
However, instead my roommate and I watched the Best of Will Farrel and it is freaking hysterical. If you get it, make sure to watch the Conan appearance on volume 2 where you can see he is dressed as a leprechaun, holy crap I have never seen a late nite show so hijacked and so hysterical!    |
I watched it..
Well, kinda...I missed parts of it. Can anyone explain the ending to me, with that dude? I must have missed who he was.

I missed that, too and am wondering who he was. I saw him in the opening minutes, but wasn't really paying attention. Diss, help us out! :) |
I asssume you're talking about the new show "Medium." *wonders who will say "what other TV show starring Patricia Arquette was on last night, stupid?"
OK, I am in LOVE with this show, I thought it was really well written, the acting is superb & they should have plenty of story lines to keep it going. It's on again (a different episode) this Thursday at 10pm on NBC. After that, I think it will be on Monday nights @10 every week. This is not really in order, hope it makes some sense. Basically, Allison (patricia) is psychic, she's had visions for years, but basically ignored them. She wants to be a lawyer, but has second thoughts when she realizes that she can talk to the dead & "see" the crimes, helping to solve them. So hubby (is this Jake Weber? HOT!) has been writing down her dreams & crystal visions :sorry: & they decide to fax them to some cops & see if anything comes of it. Of course, one of her dreams matched an unsolved case perfectly & she helps solve the crime & save the day. The show started with her dreaming about interogating a guy about his wife's death & he says "your skin is so white, the blood would look beautiful dripping down it after I sliced you open from your chin to your crotch" and she wakes up. So the guy at the end of the show (for real, not a dream) is that same guy from her dream. She decides not to go to law school, and the law firm hires her (on the down low, heehee) to help out with cases for her psychic abilities. BTW, this is based on a real woman who lives in AZ (or is it CA?) |

Glad you liked it, though. It felt more like a movie than a TV show and that's always a good thing. It was nice to see Arliss Howard as the sheriff, I like him a lot. |
Grrr....I totally forgot about that show premiering...I was all caught up in the CBS Monday night sitcom line-up...thanks for the syopsis though Paula - I won't feel too behind when I tune in now :D

I really liked the part where she's talking to the 17 year old pedophile murderer (that's the case she helped solve, for those of you who didn't see it) & tells him "I talked to your sister." Who is dead, of course. So he thinks she's bull****ting, and she says "well, I'm trying to read you, but I get nothing. You're so pretty, you could be in a milk commercial. But all I hear from your soul is the screams of tortured animals and suffering children" WOW. EVIL! Then she tells him that there are ghosts with him in the room - the ghost of the man who molested him when he was 8; and the ghost of the man who molested that guy in 1967, and the ghost of the man who molested that guy in 1955, etc. Very creepy, the kid was freaked. But so true about the cycle of abuse. :distress: Anyway, as you can tell, I really like the show. Might rival my fondness for Desparate Housewives. Well, maybe they can coexist together. I CAN have 2 favorite shows, right? Until now, nothing's ever really replaced my love for China Beach, Thirtysomething & early ER. God, I love TV... |

It's a very disturbing show, I didn't imagine it would be as disturbing as it was. And I'm glad that it isn't just about her and her visions, it's about her home life, too. That's a nice touch. |
I actually think there's a LOT of great TV recently. ALIAS (!), Lost, Gilmore Girls, CSI, Law & Order: SVU, Desperate Housewives, Boston Legal, Scrubs, Arrested Development, 24- all shows I love.
What can I say? I've become a TV whore. Thanks, Tivo. Medium's going to go on my list to watch- thanks for the detail, Paula- it'll make it easier to pick it up on Thursday. |

I watch Boston Legal every once in awhile, but since I was a big fan of The Practice, I find it a bit too cartoonish and over-the-top more often than not. Still love Spader, though, and Rhona Mitra is sexy as all hell. |

I like him and he's married to another one of my faves, Debra Winger. He wrote and directed a fabulous movie a couple years ago called Big Bad Love. I never paid much attention to him, but after I saw that, I was astonished. |
