Send it to North Texas! It's in the 50's here right now.

estranged4life 11-12-2004 11:17 AM

There's a chance...

of snow for this area tomorrow night...So I am praying that it does indeed snow.

One of Bush's cronies went on the BBC last week and claimed that global warming was a lie that was created by scientists involved in a conspiracy.

DrummerDeanna 11-12-2004 04:16 PM

It snowed bit here this week - I was SO STOKED....awesome for someone who didn't grow up around snow...for now I LOVE it...hha...I am, however, quite nervous about driving this winter

macmar71 11-12-2004 05:19 PM

I love the autumn months best of all...But I also love the winter since I am a cold weather person. Rather be freezin' than dying of heatstroke anyday of the year

Actually, what can't we do in this weather? Except, play with snow.

Same here...I feel more at home in the fall and winter and can't stand the heat of the summertime. Plus, it gives me an excuse to play Bare Trees all the time. ;)

um, Justin, what is this "summertime" you speak of? I know i didn't have one, do you get something we don't 20 miles (or however far it is) away? As far as i'm concerned, it's barely spring here during those months. 72 degrees?! Come on, we weren't exactly suffering through heat stroke...

Nope...It wasn't all that hot this year here in San Mateo either...I just don't like it when it IS warm out. Luckily, this year was pretty mild, you're right Amber!

Gee, this is probably not the time to mention that I'm on vacation. I'm on Hilton Head Island and it was 75 degrees today. Sadly, it was mostly cloudy and we did have a little rain. Now it's supposed to turn "cold"--high's only in the mid to upper 60's tomorrow. Still, beats the hell out of snow any day! :)

Give me school cancellation snow or Christmas snow sister. Anything else is just shovelling time. I do love the snow as I'm an avid skier, but little storms like this are more upsetting than anything else.

60 degrees is freezing your ass off?! I'd like to see you attempt to make it in MA where the high of the day is 25 degrees.

The almanac is saying that our winter is going to be brutal this year. It's already at record cold weather for this time of year!

estranged4life 11-12-2004 08:24 PM

Hell...

even 25 degrees is not that bad...Guess cause here in Oklahoma we have 25 degrees temp with North winds gusting about 20-30 MPH most winter nights which make it possible to imagine what the hell an eskimo feels! (Its current 48 with winds blowing 13MPH)

What's not really known, But is scientifically proven is that Chicago is NOT the "windy city" (aka-The city with the highest average of blowing wind) as most are led to believed...OKC average more wind over Chicago by 2 MPH, And the whole state of Oklahoma is #1 in windy days per year over the rest of the US.

Matter of fact a "wind farm" was just built 15 miles South of our home to use the natural force of wind for purposes of energy (There's about 30-35 100 foot tall "Windmills" along prairie land.)

it's "Crustbowl"...since everything around here is covered in crusty layers of dust, And from the looks of the land I predict another "Dust Bowl" era within the next 10-15 years.

Gross. I think my mom did an environmental paper on OK. Something about erosion, overgrazing, topsoil, overgrazing... :) overfarming...you know, detrimental dust bowl causing stuff like that

ranchers/farmers here love to chop ANY type of vegatation down so they can more precious acreage to work, But then they wonder why the droughts seem to get worse each & every year (Summer this year was not as extreme as the usual, But it also was not a wet summer)...They have no one to blame but themselves if ya ask me.

Thank God my yard is full of trees

yep. It's amazing what people don't know they shouldn't do with the land, the massive and long reaching detrimental effects things can have... der? anyone in there? Ha, those are gonna be the only trees left in OK! Good job, Brian!

I don't think I'll ever forget last year's disgusting amount of below zero days. How often do you get days off for the cold? Honestly, we risked frostbite changing classes from building to building and whatnot. Screw the cold, bring on the snow.

Here in LA, most of us seem to think 65 degrees is freezing our asses off. It gets down to there and we're all running for our jackets and sitting in class saying, "It's so cold out there!" I can remember it being around 30 degrees a few times last winter and people didn't know what to do. And I've only seen snow twice in my life. If y'all could just have a little bit of what we're having, and we could have a little bit more of what y'all are having...well it doesn't work that way.

Hillary
