Christine on Philly radio on Wednesday!
Someone just posted on Christine's website that she'll be on World Cafe radio on 88.5 WXPN in Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon. It sounds like the guy who posted this information is the same guy who's going to interview her. What a lucky guy he is. ;) He also mentioned that they're going to play an acoustic version of one of her songs from ITM. That sounds like acoustic Friend. For those who can't get iTunes, here's your chance to hear it.

Thanks for posting aobut this! Is this something that can be saved on my computer? I'm so clueless about this stuff. I will listen at 2 PM but I might like to hear it more than once. ;)

Hmmmm that's true, I should see if I can just tape it off the radio. Not sure I get that Philly station though, I get more NY ones here. Will have a look later.

Lis, I did figure out how to tape this show off my radio today. I sent them an e-mail asking about a transcript or MP3 of the interview. By the way, it looks like the interview will be replayed again on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
By the way, there's a note in the news section of Christine's website about this show. It refers to Christine's recent session/interview with the World Cafe host, David Dye. It sort of implies that this isn't live & maybe the acoustic performance might not necessarily be the iTunes acoustic Friend, but an actual performance. Maybe she taped this while she was in New York last month. |

I had figured it was probably from her NY visit last month, but that's fine w/ me if it's not 'live'. It's still a new interview w/ chris! :woohoo: -Lis |

Always so good to hear her. sigh. I loved hearing her talk about FM history, how she met John and joined band...what her mum was like etc....
Cool interview. And it ended before my kids got home from school so I could actually hear all of it. also how great was it to hear Spare Me A Little on the radio!?! -Lis |
bare trees too!

And I really loved the acoustic 'friend'. I hadn't heard that before, it was really nice. Her voice sounded so clear and strong and gorgeous!!!

It was very cool to hear a few songs off Bare Trees. This interview was obviously done last month when she was in New York. It was great hearing her talk about the early days, especially when she talked about her mother. It was amusing to hear what she had to say about Say You Will-"a bit too much guitar". Also, her nephew wrote "Calumny" 10 years ago. I had assumed that he wrote it for Chris for the album. All in all, a very cool interview. And, I got it on tape. I'm playing it back right now.

I thought it was odd she said that Say You Will had a bit too muich guitar and then went on to say that she was guitar nut (I think she said) and that's why there's so much guitar on ITM! She still thinks FM got back together because of the Clinton inauguration. It seems she has erased Time from her memory! Still it was lovely to hear her voice. Gail |

She sounds pretty happy. Her new album is solid. You Are sounded great on the radio! I love Christine McVie what can I say. She deserves the run.

For those of us who missed it, we can catch it this Saturday at 1:00 EST here: http://www.worldcafe.org/conversations.php

Buckingham/Nicks backed by Fleetwood & McVie - that's what I first thought when I knew Chris wouldn't be on the next album. Great minds think alike! Gail |
Does anyone have the ability to post this show? Thanks!

*sigh* I hope they post an MP3 or a transcript of it at some point because I wasn't able to listen to it since the nearest city it's played in is 3 hours away. :distress: I'd love to hear it.
