Mac songs radios at your town usually play
Reading Gypsy-Rhiannon post, I was thinking about the typical mac songs radios play in Lima, Peru.
In fact they know there are more albums than Rumours, ;) most popular, not in order: Dreams Little Lies Hold me Big Love Gypsy not so frequently: Sara Seven Wonders Everywhere GYOW and solo works: Love will show us how (far more than GAHOM) Stand Back Trouble It's hard to find at radios songs like Tusk, Don't Stop, Angel, SSprings, Can't go back, Rhiannon, I can't wait (though many of them were hits at their momentum). SYW and Peacekeeper were played last year, but not that much. And you know, Angel was the song for a peruvian shampoo ad (with different lyrics), in the early 80s |
and...
I forgot, Sentimental Lady (solo Welsch) is quite played, too
Of course I talk about radios that like to play songs from the 70s to 90s frequently. |
Songs heard...
FM:
Gypsy Rhiannon (Heard 3rd most after Dreams and GDW) Dreams (Heard most of all) GYOW The Chain (Rumours and Dance versions) Sentimental Lady (BW version) As Long as You Follow Dont' Stop Landslide (thanks for reminding me, Deanna! They play the original, but mostly, the Dance version) GDW (Heard 2nd most after Dreams) Little Lies Everywhere (heard once or twice I think) Sara (heard once I think) Hold Me SYW Peacekeeper Solo: Edge of 17 Stand Back Trouble Got a Hold On Me Ebony Eyes |
Well I'm still pretty new here but so far I've heard...
FM: Don't Stop Dreams Landslide Go Your Own Way You make Loving Fun Sara Gypsy Solo: Edge of Seventeen Stand Back That duet with Kenny Loggins... |
it's funny
I listen more Landslide covers than STevie's.
The Chain, GDW, Ebony Eyes. I think I've never heard those at the radio. |
Aside from playing Rumours in its entirety, local stations (mostly classic rock) also play semi-regularly...
Rhiannon Over My Head Say You Love Me World Turning Tusk Sara Hold Me Gypsy Everywhere Little Lies Peacekeeper and Say You Will were played quite a bit on the Top 40/Adult Contemporary stations last year. Unfortunately, I don't think I've ever heard a LB or CM solo song, and the only Stevie they play is SDMHA, EOS, L&L, SB and TTM... :distress: |
Dreams
YMLF GYOW Hold Me |
Oh forgot about Leather and Lace - I've heard that several times here alreaady...
|
Mmm... Where I live, they don't play many Fleetwood Mac (or solo) songs (I must add I don't listen to the radio as much as I used to). The ones I've heard:
- Little Lies (quite often) - Seven Wonders - Dreams - Everywhere - Talk To Me |
Rhiannon - constantly (original)
OH Well - quite a bit - the other day they played the original then the Lindsey one, which was cool. Go Your Own Way Silver Springs, the Dance Landslide Second Hand News GDW IDWTK CHain Dreams ok, i just realized, basically they play all of rumours ad nauseum Edge of Seventeen SDMHA Stand Back and then some of the usual culprit Christine songs. not from tango or tusk, just from Rumours and White album... sometimes Gypsy |
Well this is easy:
"Albatross" "Little Lies" Bye bye blackbird. :p |
I've come to the conclusion that it comes in waves here. If there's more Mac activity, they'll play more... since we're just coming off of the tour there's still been a hefty chunk of Mac music I've heard lately.
Mac music: Don't Stop -- usually at some really inopportune time of the day, like the dead of night GYOW Dreams -- a LOT SYLM YMLF on occasion Hold Me -- once in a blue moon, but I heard it Little Lies -- there was a lot of this one post-Dance but not recently Rhiannon Gypsy Everywhere -- about as much as Hold me Landslide Dance version Monday Morning -- I won't swear to this one, but I think I heard it here once Silver Springs -- post Dance, then it faded out Peacekeeper was big here for a week or two maybe, SYW not so much... solo stuff: SDMHA (I really like that song all of a sudden, the organ part is so cool... I think I have sheet music of it too) Leather and Lace GAHOM EOS (maybe, don't hold me to it) Ebony Eyes For what it's worth I think new music gets here three months later than it does the rest of the world -- I've heard singles in Texas in July that don't hit here until October. Louisiana is behind in everything... |
The ones I hear in Orlando most regularly...
1) The Chain 2) Don't Stop 3) Gypsy 4) Go Your Own Way 5) Sara 6) Dreams 7) Peacekeeper 8) The Chain (The Dance) 9) Say You Love Me 10) Tusk |
I work the night shift and we always have a classic rock station on and F-Mac comes up a good 3 times every night. It's always one of the same group, which gets highly annoying...
1 - Dreams 2 - You Make Loving Fun 3 - The Chain 4 - Go Your Own Way I've heard the usual others, but this tends to be all I ever hear now, at least on this station. Have you ever noticed how hearing a song can so much better on the radio just because it's more exciting when it comes up? I know the cuts aren't as good, of course, but it's just more of an experience. I tend to dislike YMLF, but when I hear it on the radio I get into it because F-Mac came up :-) |
The songs I hear most are :
1.) Edge of Seventeen 2.) Go Your Own Way 3.) Don't Stop 4.) Dreams 5.) Landslide (DANCE VERSION) 6.) Hold Me 7.) Gypsy 8.) YMLF 9.) Leather and Lace 10.) Stand Back 11.) Trouble (hear it atleast once a day on the mall loudspeakers where I work.) 12.) The Chain (rumours version) 13.) Whenever I Call You Friend 14.) If Anyone Falls 15.) Gold Dust Woman ---really kinda depends on the station, though. some I dont hear a whole lot, maybe every once in a while Sara, Talk To Me, Big Love, Tusk, Seven Wonders, Say You Will, Stop Draggin my Heart Around, Love in Store, |
I hear most often:
Rhiannon Dreams (Original & Dance) Go Your Own Way You Make Loving Fun Don't Stop Gold Dust Woman (once) Monday Morning (once) I always make a point to play Fleetwood Mac on my own radio show. I mix it up between old and new FM stuff. |

They're pretty good about playing mac, considered they're a best of "70's till now" station... Usually I hear Edge on there the most, then Stand Back, Dreams, and GYOW...oh, and Gypsy once or twice - (Gypsy strikes, maybe once, maybeh twice, apparently) |
Well my Local Classic Rock station LOVES FM esp since they have been on the morning show 3+ times...

Pittsburgh area/Parts of Ohio/Parts of West Virginia
Most Played:
Oh Well Over My Head Rhiannon Say You Love Me Landslide (it's about even between the original and 'Dance' versions) Go Your Own Way Dreams Don't Stop You Make Loving Fun The Chain Gold Dust Woman Silver Springs (the 'Dance' version mostly, but on occasion they surprise me with the b-side version) Sara Gypsy Little Lies Stop Draggin' My Heart Around Leather & Lace (heard it twice today, in fact) Edge Of Seventeen Stand Back Talk To Me Rooms On Fire Whenever I Call You "Friend" Trouble Love Will Show Us How Got A Hold On Me Sentimental Lady Occasionally Played: Hypnotized Monday Morning Second Hand News Never Going Back Again Tusk Think About Me Hold Me Love In Store Big Love *** Seven Wonders *** Everywhere *** As Long As You Follow I Can't Wait *** If Anyone Falls *** Gold Ebony Eyes (*** Usually heard only during "'80s Weekends" or '80s theme days.) |
In Sydney, most stations (easy listening or classic stations) tend to only play the following FM/SN songs:
Rhiannon Go Your Own Way Say you love me Dont Stop Dreams Gypsy Tusk Sara (rarely) Say you will (rarely) Peacekeeper (rarely) Little Lies Seven Wonders Everywhere Edge of 17 (rarely) Stop dragging my heart around They don't tend to play anything from Stevie's solo career except the two above, although i did hear "Talk to me" being played one day when one station had a "request ANYTHING and we'll play it" day. Songs like Landslide, Leather and Lace, Big Love and The Chain don't get played on Sydney radio full stop! whereas these are amoungst the most common you'd expect to hear  Brett |
actually i am lucky enuf 2 have a dj @ 1 of our local radio stations that is a total fm nut :] ~ so i swear they play fm of some sort, early/later eras nearly every hour, hour & a half, it is gr8!!! :blob1: ~ currently they r the #1 station here, i hope it stays that way, so they keep indulging the airwaves w/ fm!!!~

Here are the points from the Dutch Jury.. eh I mean here are the songs on dutch radio:
Oh Well (even a commercial now with it, very cool) Need Your Love So Bad and occasionally another PG era song, because they did well here then. Rumours: pretty much all the hits: GYOW Dreams You make loving fun Don't Stop Sara/Tusk.. not that often Hold Me/Gypsy.. not much either Little Lies, Everywhere: a LOT. Big Love: occasionally :) As long As You Follow, once in a while Save Me, dito and that's about it, I think. They didn't have any hit songs after that, though album sales have always been ok. I think. |
Oops, I forgot 'The Chain' and 'Peacekeeper', both heard a few times on my local supermarket. :p
|
Last night I heard Never Going Back Again on Rock 92 out of Greensboro, NC. It made me so happy to turn the radio on and hear that!!!
|
And Livia, correct me if I'm wrong, but I hear Sara and Gold Dust Woman A LOT on 102.3.

Well...
only a couple of stationsin this area play FM, And the songs are the usual suspects that others have already listed (I wont list 'em since everyone else already did).
Btw, I heard the song "Say You Will" today when Deb & myself stopped and ate at Arby's...It was the album version and not the edited single version. Arby's was the last place I expect to hear a FM song. Brian j. |
These are the ones I've heard the most:
Rhiannon SYLM GYOW Dreams Don't Stop Gypsy Whenever I Call You Friend Occasionally: Over My Head Gold Dust Woman Landslide (Dance) Silver Springs (Dance) Little Lies |
