New Fleetwood Mac release(s) in November.

www.icemagazine.com, the reputable new release site/magazine has updated for October, and in their November preview box they list (alongside Gwen Stefani) Fleetwood Mac.

Any clue what this might be?
Here's hoping it the Mirage and Tango In The Night remasters.

Oooh Missionary 10-01-2004 11:56 AM

"NOVEMBER PREVIEW

New releases by U2, Gwen Stefani, The Rolling Stones, Eminem, and The Darkness (DVD). Vault releases by John Lennon, Michael Jackson, Fleetwood Mac, Britney Spears, and The Grateful Dead (DVD).

Next Issue Mails on October 12."

Looks like all major players, so I'd assume this is something from the Rumours line-up.

Gaaaaahhh! What could it be? Also, i'm looking forward to New Gwen, if that's the case...

I'd love to be proven wrong, but I tend to think we would have heard something by now... some rumour, some little tidbit, something... if the remastered/expanded editions of 'Mirage' and 'Tango' were coming out in November.

These vault releases are probably the Blue Horizon discs that were originally part of the 'Fleetwood Mac: The Complete Blue Horizon Recordings' boxed-set, and are now being released as individual albums.

MirrorInTheSky 10-01-2004 03:24 PM

Hrm.....I'll try to consult my 'contact' at Reprise Records in L.A. Maybe he knows something. He's the one that scored me the gratis reissues of FM, Rumours, and Tusk.

macfan 57 10-01-2004 03:31 PM

I wonder if the new releases might be the DVD-Audio versions of The White Album & Tusk. Ken Caillat finished them & sent them off to Warner/Reprise early this year. They should soon be ready for release, I would think.

Hmm... that's a very good possibility.

macfan 57 10-01-2004 03:41 PM

I just checked Amazon & they have the individual Blue Horizon issued CDs set to be released Oct. 12th. That Ice website said something will be coming in November. I HOPE it's finally the DVD-Audios. :)

Oooh Missionary 10-01-2004 06:25 PM

If it were the DVDA's I would be happy, but I think it would say so in parenthesis (as was done with The Darkness and Grateful Dead).

It just seems like all of the stuff they mention are major name "hot" releases.
I don't do this often, but a :blob1: may just be in order. *lights candle and twirls*

amber 10-01-2004 06:30 PM

What would the DVD include?
Amber "new to DVD's" G.

Just music. :(

They're going to stop making plain DVD-A's in the near future, though, because they don't sell. The new thing that they're putting out is a DVD-A and CD hybrid. One side is a regular audio CD that you can play in the car or in a stereo, and the other side is a DVD-A for your your DVD player with not only music, but video supplements. They come out in November and the first one to go out on the market is "The Curse of Blondie."

Omigod, I still don't have that damn thing. And when I saw the SM themed video many months ago, I saw that this was clearly another great album. I was gonna buy Destiny Rules this week, but i gotta get that Blondie. And about DVD's  confuse me? So, they were previously pointless from a viewing standpoint? but now they are gonna have video? What - evah. i'll be glad for the video, for sure, but why have them before? just so people could listen to the music through their DVD player? I guess that makes sense, for people who have awesome speakers for their TV/DVD...ok, sorry i took you through that whole thought process...

xdreamsunwindx 10-01-2004 08:51 PM

Oh man. I'm gonna be so poor in November. New U2, Gwen Stefani, Blondie and supposedly new FM. I guess I should start saving now. :)

It's most likely that these will be more reissues, as that's what the Grateful Dead thing is. Another box set of their albums.

At the moment, DVD-A's only play in DVD players. That's why they don't really sell well, because they can only be played in a DVD player and not anything else; it's too restrictive a product. The new ones will have DVD-A on one side and audio CD on the other, so they'll be able to be played in DVD players and stereos. They test marketed them in Boston and a few other cities, my friend has the Blondie one. It has the video for Good Boys (love that video) and a few other things, but it's an early version and I've heard that they're going to put video footage form the current tour on it for the November release. I'm crossing my fingers.

I have an article here somewhere about all of it, lemme find it.

Thank you! She does sound like her at the beginning, but the rest of the song sounds like Gwen to me....and I like the song!

mabye the new mac is....

More and more peter green era mac is getting out, so it might be this stuff, perhaps. I am glad I discovered Peter Green on a total lark. I saw a mac album that I never heard of, gave it a listen, heard blues, thought it was a mistake from the record factory. Looked and listened more closely, did a bit of research....bingo....instant Peter Green fan. I love to play this era of mac without telling anyone what I am spinning. They come up to me and ask, "what are you playing?", I tell them, "Fleetwood Mac". After that, they say, "No, what are you playing NOW, this is heavy bluesey stuff". Then I have to go into the whole history lesson, including disbelief on the whole Black Magic Woman thing. I't kinda odd in this case how the later popularity of a lineup can erase a band's history.

That's "then I GET TO go into the whole history lesson"! I think that's really cool, though i myself don't love blues, so haven't gotten into "other" FMac...

Not even the Bob Welch era, because that's NOT blues at all.

I hope the U2 album sounds better than the title:

How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb

What a goofy album title...

Now that I think of it, you may be right. There is a thread in the pre-Rumours forum about a new 3 CD Live at the BBC set. Someone saw an article about this in Ice Magazine. It was supposed to be released on Sept. 27th but has been postponed. Maybe the new release date is in November.

Ian 10-09-2004 10:31 AM

i would hope its more of the rumours-age of mac.. i really dont care for peter green (he's o.k., but i prefer lindsey :D)..

It can't be anything substantial. If you read in John's Q & A, he doesn't know or recall any upcoming releases for the band.

chiliD 10-10-2004 12:57 PM

Way back on page 1 of this thread, Johnny Stew had the correct answer...the "new" Fleetwood Mac releases in November are the six discs of The Complete Blue Horizon Sessions box set being released individually, so stop the friggin' speculation...just check Amazon.com or CDUniverse.com and your questions will be answered.

.

So this means all the blues albums will finally be released individually on CD!

Actually, they've been out individually in Europe for over a decade now. Since I own at least three copies of each album on CD, I'll skip this round...
