Mac/Stevie Jackpot

Wow, this was really weird. In the grocery store tonight, I heard FOUR Mac/Stevie songs. The first one I heard was Rhiannon. Then a few songs later it's Say You Love Me. I couldn't believe it. Then right after that, I mean right after, it's Stevie's Leather & Lace. I then asked my husband if it's Fleetwood Mac night at the grocery store. :blob2: Then as we were checking out, I heard Go Your Own Way, but it wasn't Fleetwood Mac singing it, it was Wilson Phillips! This was the first time that I heard them sing it. Now don't get me wrong, I like Wilson Phillips, but I didn't like their version of it. Go Your Own Way is a rockin' song, a song you play in your car loud, with your windows down, not the way they sing it. :( But anyway, I was really happy to hear all those songs tonight. I was wondering if anyone else has ever heard a lot of Mac/Stevie or even Lindsey songs like this while out in one day or night.

Lee :)

I've never heard so many at once before, but I was excited to hear Steal Your Heart Away in JCPenney's yesterday since it's a new one (the song). Were you shopping late at night by any chance? I've been to grocery stores in the wee hours and it seems more like the employees might have some say in the music being played.

Cool!

I heard Little Lies in the bank yesterday! Sounds like FM week out and about!

AliP 08-26-2004 11:51 PM

I heard it yesterday in Mervyn's. Is that a good thing?

HomerMcvie 08-27-2004 01:04 AM

I heard Soul Drifter in Lowe's the other day. There must be a set rotation for all the music. I felt a little stupid singing along though, although I did.

Claudia 08-27-2004 06:07 AM

I heard "The Chain" on the supermarket the other day, pretty surprising.

Gypsy3 08-27-2004 07:10 AM

I heard "Say You Love Me" at Friday's restaurant.

Bella Figura 08-27-2004 08:50 AM

I've heard "Gypsy" every day this week...

ShamHy89 08-27-2004 09:05 AM

I heard Mission Bell in a Friendly's on Tuesday. It was on some kind of 50's "doo-wop" rotation too. Later that day I heard Got A Hold On Me in the car.

We should come up w/ a name for this phenomenon - when you're in a store and don't even notice music is being played at all - until you hear the familiar opening notes of a Mac or solo Mac member tune....last time it happened to me was in the grocery store - I had run into a couple I know at the fish counter - we were having a conversation and all of a sudden, I yell, "Stand Back!"

I love it when I hear Mac music while shopping. I was in Home Depot with my boyfriend last weekend and we are in a discussion about celing fans when I hear the opening cords to Thrown Down. Of course I freak out and start jumping up and down.....there playing Thorwn Down...can you believe it. He was like OK.

There's this cute little coffee shop in my town and every time I go in there at some point a FM song comes on. They just play the town's radio station...which plays "All hits, all the time"

But...I heard Seven Wonders, Gypsy, and Say You Love Me in there.

I heard Everyday at the grocery store and it took me back to when TISL was released. You know how those feelings come rushing back? That was cool. Then at Goodwill, I heard Stand Back. My granddaughter was with me, I said "Listen... who is that singing?" She said "Is it you?" She's only 8 years old. I laughed and said "no honey, but thanks.." then she said, "Oh, it's Stevie Nicks!" Made me wonder too... I mean, the tour is over and all, but sure is nice to be hearing that stuff... especially cuz I don't spend a lot of time in stores. Good to know lots of other places around the country are playing lots of Mac too. I also heard Spare Me a Little on the classic rock station, that was a rare blast from the past. It's been a great time to be a Mac fan, that's for sure. We've been richly blessed after what seems like kind of a daught for awhile.

No, actually we weren't shopping late at all, 6:30 - 7 P.M. And I've heard them play Fleetwood Mac in this grocery store before, but not this much in one night, not that I minded. I thought it was great. Heck, they played more Mac in the grocery store that night than they do on this local classic rock radio station I listen to during the day at work at week!

I heard Think About Me at the grocery store today and Edge of Seventeen, The Chain and Gypsy on the radio. A good Mac day!

4ever Stevie 08-28-2004 11:46 PM

i heard SYW in CVS tonight!

TheMacAttack 08-31-2004 04:41 PM

I was bowling one time and up for a turkery (3 strikes in a row)...as I picked up my ball Rhiannon came on...and wouldn't you know I got it. I have never done it since. I am convinced that song holds some kind of magical power.

Apparently....

So do the people who made this list. They have Rhiannon under Epics. The Chain (On the Move: 60 Songs to Soundtrack the Open Road), Storms (Chilling Out: 60 Songs to Soothe the Furrowed Brow), Albatross (Instrumentals) are listed as well.

I was at a horse show last weekend and I didn't have any Mac music with me and I was a little bummed. But then the management was playing music over the loudspeaker and they played Landslide and Gypsy.

"Got A Hold On Me" gets some serious in-the-grocery-store airplay. Seems like I hear it almost every time I go grocery shopping.

The first time I ever ate at Outback Steak House, "Oh Well" (the entire 9 minutes) played over the PA.

chiffon head 09-01-2004 08:15 PM

The Mac played in the grocery store? Damn, I must be getting old.
