Bono For President.

If I could vote (in the US), I would.

Bono For President

spread the word.

strandinthewind 08-24-2004 06:59 AM

I would as well, but the Const. prohibits it because he was not born here

Mari 08-24-2004 07:02 AM

Well that's lame.

strandinthewind 08-24-2004 07:03 AM

Many think so - although now that Arnold is the Gov. of Claif., maybe its not such a bad thing as he has notions on the WH

So, hate the US' "arrogance" all you want, but the fact is for the last 100 or so years, the US has been very important in the world and people are loathe to admit that. Have we made mistakes - yes. Have we done more good than bad - yes - I suggest removing Hitler when no one else could stop him was probably the finest hour IMO and it alone far eclipses any bad we have done.

Sorry for the rant, but I am just feeling a little patriotic today

Don't get me started about the current California governor.

Oh, speaking of the German Chancellor of the 30's & 40's...wasn't he an immigrant from Austria? Just that alone is justification enough to keep immigrants from running for President.

But, then, look who we have as POTUS now? Anyone up for giving Texas back to Mexico?

Dammit, Chili, your logic above is impeccable.

But, damn, I was hoping the rule would get changed so I could run.

I can donate all my money to unicef if I want, that doesn't give me the right to feel ok about then going and killing a child. So yes good has been done but that is no form of justification and it sickens me that it would make perpetrators of such crimes as mass slaughter feel ok about commiting these acts.

Argh. I didn't even raise this. Do we have to get into such a political argument? You know we'll just keep arguing despite the fact that neither will give in.

Touche my dear one touche'

It has been an argumentative Tues. for me and that is spilling over into the boards

Hugs !!!!!

DeeGeMe 08-24-2004 02:24 PM

Oh come on people--let's have some fun with this idea. Yes, we know it can't happen. But think of the possibilities! Why the inaguration balls alone would be worth voting for him--can you imagine the rockin' line-up we'd get? BTW--this is one more reason to vote Democratic-we always have the best talent line-ups for the Inaguration.

And let's think about presidential fashion shall we--we'd have the first president who not only could wear leather pants--but would look damn good in them! Again, it's a win-win!

He could nominate Keith Richards to head the Drug Enforcement Agency--I mean who knows more about drugs than Keith Richards? (Unless it's Courtney Love).

Come on folks--nominate some people for the Bono cabinet--I know you got it in ya'!

chiliD 08-24-2004 03:51 PM

So who would he get as running mate? Sting?

RonnieGotBack 08-24-2004 03:55 PM

I nominate my cat, Tugboat. She likes to argue politics with the tabby next door and confuse me with all of her vast knowledge on the subject.

Hmmmm...actually, I think Eric Clapton would be a better nominee. Don't forget about his Crossroads Center.

CarneVaca 08-24-2004 07:09 PM

The obvious nominee is Bruce Springsteen. He should run for president. And, all joking aside, he could win.

Like me, your a litle odd, but then again who the hell wants to be normal!!!!! :wavey:

dreamongypsydkm 08-24-2004 07:32 PM

True politics aside, I don't want him to be president either. This would make him slightly less cool, and definitely less inclined to make music. Horrible idea, if any.

Don't get me wrong, I love Bono, clearly.

On that note, one month to the day until the new U2 single is released.

Yes, my dear Lux--of course Jimmy can have a role in the Bono administration. What would you like him to do? I'm going to warn you--there's already stiff competition for Head of the FDA--between Eric Clapton and Keith Richards.

I think that Mick Jagger (Mr. London School of Economics) should be appointed Treasury Secretary.

I still haven't though of anything fabulous enough for my beloved Stevie. Maybe Secretary of Atmosphere--you know--she could light incense and candles and throw shawls over lamps before cabinet meetings.

Willie Nelson gets to be Agriculture Secretary though, for sure.

dreamongypsydkm 08-25-2004 12:56 AM

Bono will not be president. However, for the sake of theory, I like the idea of Jimmy as Presidential Hog. He clearly has all the credentials necessary. I think Lux and I can account for that, and he'd be the first of his kind.

Anyone willing to second that?

dreamongypsydkm 08-25-2004 01:30 AM

And so Bono and Jimmy have once again transformed metaphorically into Darrelle and Lux.

So, I'll express myself through photo:

http://www.u2world.com/news/IMG/jpg/...ono_par103.jpg

All we are saying, is give Lux a chance.

dreamongypsydkm 08-25-2004 01:51 AM

Not at all, Lux. It seems perhaps you've missed the point. Bono (Darrelle) is simply asking the kind people of the Fleetwood Mac fan boards to have a little sympathy for Jimmy (Lux). Bono and I truly enjoy beating and generally taking advantage of our respective hogs. We just want the others to find the fascist rulers deep inside to appreciate them in the way we do.
For god's sake people!

I sometimes admire that then at other times think he's just ignorantly optimistic. Maybe he's nothing like Bono actually. Well Bono is less inclined to wait tables all day and my friend less inclined to go on a sellout world tour and then run for office.

This talk of an artistic, paternal (I say paternal, as I might be an expecting mother and therefore this is a good quality although I've never considered it before), and Bono-like Australian man only makes me want to embark on the journey down under even more. His ignorant optimism only makes me find him all the more appealing. However, it's hard to imagine a Bono double who is not appealing. He's like an attainable Bono. Can he sing?

Finally, the hog understands. I should give you a little more time, as you're slower than the others ('retarded' isn't allowed is it?), but you took three or four posts to understand. The others now not only dislike you, they think you're stupid as well.

See, people? Lux, she's not so bad. She's just slow, and only worthy of slaveship. Please.

Oh, and Bono doesn't want to bathe Jimmy. He has to swear in Mick and Willie and the other to their respective political positions. (I'm just staying on topic.)

dreamongypsydkm 08-25-2004 12:02 PM

Continue to attack me slave, and not only will the general Ledge public crucify you, but you will aslo be separated from your pathetic incapable companion (Jimmy).
As much as I enjoy the fact that you remain the victim, and I not glorified yet not repremanded, I will not let you point that out. Let the others continue their cycle please. Such is nature.

dreamongypsydkm 08-26-2004 04:35 AM

I think perhaps you were planning this move on my part.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...d/Jimmy017.jpg

Your Jimmy.

Or maybe the equipment is finally having an effect on me. Will I one day become like Jimmy. One can only hope. Oh, the dreams of a young adult.
I'm running out of equipment knicknacks.

dreamongypsydkm 08-26-2004 05:20 AM

It's parents day! The one day of the year (other than Jimmy's birthday) where he gets a hot bath and a haircut. Doesn't Jimmy look lovely?
However, Bono is the real center of attention of parents day. I'm all but certain he shares equipment and activity with Jimmy's mother.
Oh, you bastard Bono. You bastard.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...Bonosuited.jpg

dreamongypsydkm 08-26-2004 05:46 AM

What the hell slave? Why do you call me a pathetic substitute dominatrix?

Oh, wait, I was offended, but now I'm distracted by all the Bono compliments. I like them. Makes me feel so proud for always seeing the inner beauty within the thin red haired pastie Irish boy. Now that he's a well-aged 44 years old, all the interested women come around. You know he's mine don't you?
You slaves don't get him. Well, unless you include torture and beatings.

What the hell? I'm so far gone off the topic and in other ways. That sentence didn't even make sense.

dreamongypsydkm 08-26-2004 06:11 AM

I don't want to go Lux. This is fun. See? Images:

Me, contemplating the Jimmy:

Robert, Jimmy, etc.:

dreamongypsydkm 08-26-2004 06:27 AM

Well I took down the photo that made you react. I mean, the one of Robert. Not the one where you insult and call me foolish.
This isn't my monitor at all, but my mother's. And this is the guest room (Old sister's room no one has used in years) that my mother decorates. If you have issues with her floral arrangments, I can schedule a meeting. I warn you though, she's really quite scary.

dreamongypsydkm 08-26-2004 11:34 PM

Since your level of tolerance has increased, I think I'll increase the dosage.

(Don't worry mods, this was not a reference to drugs. Unless 'drugs' includes Robert.)

Oh God, Robert. You are too fine.

sparky 08-26-2004 11:43 PM

I have nothing relevant to say. Robert.

dreamongypsydkm 08-27-2004 02:35 AM

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...s/Jimmy635.jpg

As long as we're being irrelevant, I'm going to ask who dressed Jimmy? It wasn't Bono. He wouldn't let him look so damn foolish. That's terrible. Terrible.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...nwind/r106.jpg

dreamongypsydkm 08-27-2004 03:00 AM

Bono would like to do the honors.
He's teething at the moment, forgive him.

Oh god. Good times, Bad times.
Yknow I'm afraid to find a recent picture of Robert. The comparison will be enough to make me cry. Good thing Bono is still sexy.

dreamongypsydkm 08-28-2004 11:29 AM

Well, I decided to defend myself, or really Robert. I thought surely you just dug up the worst photo available. However, to my utter disgust, I found only this:
http://www.soundgenerator.com/pix/ar...tplant_140.jpg

What has become of this?:
http://www.led-zeppelin.org/multimed...s/plant102.jpg

He was such a sexy young hippie frolicking in the hills with a guitar with the curls and the bellbottoms.
He was so sexy. What a tragedy.

Thank God for this sexy old man:

Adorable. What a cute man. So cute without his cane and tophat. And with as well, although Jimmy would disagree.

dreamongypsydkm 08-28-2004 12:37 PM

Welcome to the wonderful world of Hoggs. Hungry, dirty, and always horny.
It's hard to believe that some of them have IQs as high as a humans. Clearly you don't. I'm not a Hogg. Don't you think it's rather odd that IQ is now measured by posts on forms? Or is the Jimmy photos? Oh wait, our IQs weren't measured at all. It was only mentioned that reading Zep and Sharks would shave off points or something?
I cannot keep up.
The equipment I got was faulty. Finally the third piece I got operated, but only to an extent. I'm not a filmaker by trade, but I don't think it's working correctly.

This makes no sense.

dreamongypsydkm 08-28-2004 01:03 PM

Hm, funny how a 60 year old retard can make you cry.

"To be actually.. the first." http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...immyRetard.gif

Well, I'm not anywhere near done editing this film. I don't know, maybe it's because I like editing so much. I fear completion. I don't think it will be complete anytime soon though. I don't know. It's hard to predict with things.

Well, I'm not listening to Puff Daddy, fortunately. I think that would make this chocolate shake (which I happen to be drinking as well) begin to come up my esophogus. Luckily though I am listening to Kashmir. Gah this is lovely, probably because I'm so relieved we've begun editing again. I was worried we were going to fall behind.

Even though Jimmy doesn't necesarrily make me cry, unless it's that pitiful photo of him in the fetal postion, this photo does:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...Bonosuited.jpg

I'm so sad. I want to touch and I can't.
