Things you hear on bootlegs
I just got the Hershey show audio (thanks, Brian J.) and heard something I thought was pretty funny. After Come, a guy in the audience says "wow, that even turned ME on!" Hilarious!
The most annoying crowd noise, IMO, is the Phili 77 show. Stevie's doing an incredible version of Landslide & some jerk keeps screaming "take it off!" So what do you think is the funniest/most annoying thing you've heard on a boot? Paula |
Me yelling "Fire Jonathan Todd!" to Mick during his drum solo - Nashville show, last year....
There's a TISL bootleg with two gay guys talking to each other - it's really hilarious. One of them saying, "I wonder if she'll do Has Anyone Ever Written..." and the other guy responding, "Oh, honey, of COURSE she'll do it. And she wears the hat with the feather!" They make a lot of funny comments throughout the show. |
On the uncut Red Rocks:
-"Enough with the f*cking rhythm!" On the Live In Boston bootleg: -"Back off all you f*ckin' women," sung to the tune of Gold Dust Woman. -"I want to hear Sara soooooo bad that I can taste it!" |
On the Say You Will Boston bootleg (the first show at the beginning of the tour) there is a little kid singing every word to every song along with the band. Annoying! But sort of cool that he is only five years old and a fan of Fleetwood Mac.

LOL! Yes, that is the TISL Las Vegas 10/5/01 show. It's funny, but I wish they would have shut up! The TISL Las Vegas 10/6/01 show would have been great, but the woman taping it should have taken a cough drop or something because she is hacking in the recorder all night. It is sooo annoying! |
Well I think the whole banter in between the songs on the 5-21-1977 soundboard is priceless, they seemed to pick even the quietest whispers of the band. Chris and John, in particular, sound pretty much out of it.
|
There's an Enchanted show where some girl's boyfriend starts dissing Stevie and the girl, who sounds inebriated, starts getting ready to throw down, slurring "Go ahead, put her down again." Right as fisticuffs are about to break out, Stevie starts another song and the boyfriend must like this song becuase they both shut up.
|
Is it just me hearing things or there's a woman saying that Lindsey has put on weight on the May 22nd, 2004 show?

I have it too, LOVE IT! Isn't that the one where at the end of Dreams one of the guys sings the "ahhahhahhahhahhahh...Uhhhh-hhhuuuhhh..." part that Stevie used to sing, even though she doesn't on the TISL Tour? Paula |
Cant remember which..its a bootleg from the dance 1997 tour...and some guy, starting at the end of the chain complains about the bongos the whole night... saying stuff like "oooh god who taught this guy how to play a bongo?" and "i sure hope thats not gonna go on all night.."
and in the Atlanta 7-30-01 bootleg some VERY southern lady yells after SDMHA "She's much better already than saturday night!!!" in a very very southern accented voice.. or should i say "she's much BATER alraidy than saturday niiiiight" Chris |

On the Champaign bootleg from May 9th of this year right before Red Rover starts, some guy yells what sounds like "Oh sh*t!", and everyone laughs.
Poor Lindsey...if it was me I would have been laughing and my concentration would have been gooooooooooooooone! |

I thought the banter between the women in the Boston boot was great, Annoying but great!

My favorite is the Pittsburgh 5-10-04 boot (the show I got to see on the tours). You hear:
"Yeah yeah yeah! OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAH!" right when GYOW is about to start. someone SCREAMS "TUSK!" right when Tusk is about to go and also, Silver Springs hits, and this girl squeals yes a bunch of times. on I'm So Afraid, during the intro, someone says "It's all downhill now!" funny, funny stuff. |
How about that girl during the band intros on Cloaks & Daggers?
"...Waddy Wachtel..." Girl: AWWRIIII!!!!!! "...Bobbeye Hall..." Girl: AWWRIIII!!!!!! etc. Whoever it is? Shut the hell up kplzthnx. |

Thanks Jill!!! Mohini is my fave gymnast this year. (Besides my friend Katie *mwah*) |
Columbus show-2003-someone says right before Never Going Back Again,
"I can Name That Tune in one note!" Excuse me, but Lindsey does not have a little tummy... |
On one of my...
Pink Floyd boots the taper is obviously "caught in the act" by security:
Security-"What's that? A tape recorder?" Taper-"Oh s--t *click*" Great thing the show was over when the taper was caught  On the FM Boston (I'm sure it's the Boston show) 2003 AUD recording some audience members near the taper are ripping on Stevie about her weight...Last time I saw her she looked FINE to me!!! |
One of Stevie's 1983 concerts -- Alpine Valley on July 30, I think. Benmont & Roy play the opening of Beauty & the Beast, & at just the perfect moment during the pause before the vocals start, somebody yells out -- to a hushed house -- "STEVIE!!!"
Every soul in the venue hears it, you can just tell. |

When I first got the Stevie '89 'imfamous swearing show' boot, I was SO disappointed. I had assumed everyone meant Stevie let something fly. But there's an audience member who keeps yelling "I f*cking love you, Stevie", "You f*cking rock", etc, etc, so I thoght that's what made it 'the infamous swearing show'. I though it was so rediculous that the fan community had made such a big deal over it (I had just started trading at this point)...and then I made it through to Edge Of Seventeen!

anyway, i think that same lady is the one that says "don't worry about the time...." during the break between the acoustic piano "rhiannon" and the full band performance. it always cracks me up when i listen to it...then she pleads "one more tune baby!" the best is right before "Leather and Lace" this guy shouts out "SILVER SPRINGS!!!" and a bunch of peeps go "YEAH!" It was pretty loud. |
The two Boston chicks needed to be smacked. "Let's call my husband...HI HONEEYYYYY!!!!!" And their incessant bitching about the camera equipment was too much!
My least favorite has to be a little kid on one of the SYW shows in 2003....it might have been Worcester? I am not positive, I'll have to look....at the beginning of almost EVERY song..."Is this Goodbye Baby?" "Is this Goodbye Baby now?" The first time I heard it, after the fifth song in a row, I was like..."NOOOOOOO....GOodbye Baby died dammit!" Then I realized I was talking to my CD player and about a song dying... Anyway, she also says something during the intro to GYOW like "DADDY - Scary Eyes!" I would have loved and hated to be near the woman on the Tacoma 97 boot who has an orgasm at the beginning of Stand Back. "oH YESSSSSSSSSS, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, YESSSSSSSSSS, I love it! I LOVE THIS SONG!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS....WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" Loved because it's great to be around people who like to have a good time at a show, hated because I wouldn't have been able to hear anything after that! |

Worcester 5/28: Little Girl: On NGBA she goes, "Is this Rhiannon?"
Jones Beach 1989: The intro to the beginning of Alice sounds to similar to Beauty and the Beast everyone was going crazy and then one guy goes, "this is alice". The women on the 9/24 boot and 5/28 Boston shows. God they never shut up. 5/28/04: on the chain- She looks like a little munchkin. Jimmy |
love right at the beginning of the show when they come out on 5/28/04 in Mansfield:
"Oh my gosh she's so TINY!" "Oh she's so little!" "She's like a little munchkin!" "She's like 5'1"      I love it, I so need to start my bootleg collection. Tynan |

One of the funniest/most random "live" moments for me is (and this is technically not a bootleg!) during the very beginning of NGBA on the 1980 "Live" album........that person who screams what sounds like "Elmooooooo!!!".........?!?!........lol!!
The most annoying thing captured on bootleg is one of the Rumours tour shows in Japan (I *think* it's the Tokyo one) where the entire audience somehow manages to clap out of time with the beat of "The Chain" for the whole song - it's amazing that Mick and Lindsey actually manage to "zone out" and keep the correct beat. |
OK every time I hear this, it cracks me up.
On the audience recording of the Boston 9/24 show, at the beginning of Come, the infamous woman says "This is Come, you'll love this. I already did last night...three times!" |
I know it's not a bootleg, but....
Every dang time I hear that scream during The Dance version of The Chain, I get giddy. I love that!! It's right before the second verse and this person lets out a "WOO!!!!"
|
On the Tusk tour rehersal DVD that I have, there's a lot of funny moments.
- During "Rhiannon" the lights suddenly go out and everyone stops playing. A little bit of random bass notes/snare drumming later, you hear Stevie saying 'no, no that's alright, that's FINE.' and then 'it's not that FUNNY, is it?' - During IKINW, Lindsey's doing his usual 'ah-ah-ah-ah's at the end, and he looks over to Stevie for back-up, but she's off in her own world with the tambourine. He screams out in his usual squeaky yelp-way "STEVIE!" and she whirls around. He gestures to her like 'what the hell, back me UP!" and she rushes up to the mic to sing. That cracked me up. - During the warm up of SOTM, Christine/John are playing for what seems like years, waiting for the others to show up on stage. Then Stevie finally shows up, but Lindsey/John are now gone. So after a good 5 minutes of an intro, Stevie finally says 'well I don't KNOW, Lindsey and John aren't even here, I mean come on!" or something like that. Just good stuff from back in the day. |
