Coolest, nicest celeb you've ever met
1 Attachment(s)
Hehe. I'm being self indulgent today. I met Justin Guarini again over the weekend, and I must say, he is THE nicest, sweetest, most amazing celebrity I've EVER met. I flew to Houston and met up with a lady from the JG boards (she was a doll and we had a blast together!), and we drove to Beaumont to see him do a concert with Aaron (*barf*) Carter. Justin sang three songs, OWNED that stage and left. We went out back, waited about 30 minutes or so, he came out in his limo. The limo drove away and Justin rolled the window down to wave at all us. We are SCREAMING at him "I love you, Justin, please come back, PLEEEAAAAASSEEE!!!!!" LOL I have a scratchy throat today. Anyways, there were maybe 15 of us there waiting and the limo is driving to the gate to get on the road to leave. The limo stops, and OMG, is turning around!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! Justin got out of the limo, came over to us and says "Aww, there's not that many of you guys." Sigh...he's just the greatest!! He signed photos, CD covers, gave out hugs and kisses, posed for TONS of pictures. He was EXTREMELY personable, sweet, kind and I gave him a Lindsey CD (OOTC) and a letter explaining why I thought that CD applied to his situation. I hope he enjoyed it!
So, who have you met that you could gush over forever for being so sweet and kind to their fans? Besides Stevie. LOL Below is a pic of Justin and I. Sweetest guy EVER. :) |
Easy...
Gary Cherone, former lead singer of Extreme & Van Halen...The nicest musician I have ever met.
I also met his identical (Though not as famous) twin brother Greg who was just as cool a person. Brian "Battling a developing case of bronchitis" j. |
Susan Sarandon. It's a long story, but she's such a sweetheart, I just love her. Nice as can be and then some.
|
Nice picture! I've barely met any celebrities so I don't really have any stories except for one. I'm a big Metallica fan and I love Kirk Hammett. He's from the San Francisco Bay Area and so am I. So anyway probably about ten years ago I was in a restaurant in SF with my parents having lunch. We were the only people there until Kirk and a friend walk in a sit down a few tables away from us. Oh my god! I had to get my courage up and then I walked over to them and introduced myself. I don't really remember what I said but it was something along the lines of I love your music and especially your guitar playing and I've seen you in concert and you're awesome. Kirk was really friendly and introduced me to his friend who was in another band and we talked for a few minutes. That's it and all I remember but he seemed nice and down to earth.
|
Cool!
Sorry to hear about your bronchitis, Brian...geez, is the bad never gonna end with you and your family. :( Get well soon!!!!!
Diss, it's way cool when you meet people you admire and they are super cool and nice. GB...Kirk seems like the nicest one of the Metallica guys. Glad to hear he was nice. :) |
Stevie - first and foremost!
Hanging out with Drea de Matteo during SXSW last year was pretty cool. I've also spent an entire day with Johnny Ramone. My friend Bruce has known the Ramones for years - they played 2 nites in Austin back in 1990 or so - we hung out with Johnny all day - had lunch, took him to record stores (kinda like my day with Gerald!). LOL We also took him to my bf at the time's house- where ex-bf and his unsuspecting friends were hanging out watching football. And then I walk in w/ Johnny Ramone! LOL  |
Stevie - by far. I made her cry with a very sad story and she beamed at me and told me I was gonna be okay. And I was!!!!!!!!
Patti Lupone, the original Evita, was a blast. We had martini's with her!!!!!! She was HYSTERICAL!!!!!!! I was also at a party where she got on the piano and sang - what a treat. Lindsey was also pretty cool at the Four Seasons - but it was brief - too brief. He was just great. I also met a few really great other people - Glady Knight comes to mind - what a genuine and real person. |
Never had many "nice" experiences with celebrities myself...Saw the mac getting out of limos in knoxville...Lindsey was the only one who would wave, Stevie Mick and John all rushed in, without acknowledging us, even though we were screaming...lol...maybe thats why??
Saw OJ Simpson once on bad terms...while visiting my aunt in Calif..she took us by his former house, and we were taking pictures, and my aunt being crazy like she is took the video camera and was filming his house and was saying real loud "OJ SIMPSON THE KILLER, MURDERER, THIS IS HIS HOUSE.." and we didnt know he was across the street staring at us until my uncle was like "sherry shut up and get in, hes right there! lol If you've ever seen the show IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT, I met all of them...they filmed that show near here when it was on...none were very nice except for the old Chief of Police, cant remember his name.. Im not good with names...the show 90210...the guy with the curly blonde hair, lol, Ian something...lol anyway my cousin in Calif is good friends with him, met him, hes VERY VERY nice...nicest celeb ive ever met Chris |
It's okay...

She is ahead of schedule since Dr.Bozarth reduced her yield of radiation today...Only thing is she should've waited to cut her hair later because now her upper body will no longer be radiated but thus too late for the back of her hair, We can't win for losing  I'll be alright by the end of the week...Hopefully!!!???!!! All the band Members of the current Boston Lineup are Very Cool and Nice. Brad Delp, Tom Shcolz, Kimberly Dahme, Jeff Neil, Gary Phil, Fran Cosmo, Anthony Cosmo.
Great people |
Oh, fer cryin out loud. Nicest ? I meet a lot of celebrities. Enough that it isn't really a big deal anymore.
Rather than list all the nice ones, I'll just say in music that Stevie is great, Dolly is a hoot, Melissa Etheridge is really nice, the Wilson sisters are great, Clint Black is as nice as he is adorable. Those are the best. The actors...it would be a ridiculous list. Most people are, in fact, very nice. |

I forgot all about that ! Leave it to you to take this into the gutter. Oh, man. If I only knew then what I know now ! |
You know, I have to say, usually the celebs are nice and it's the local celebs that are complete and total asshats (a few are genuinely nice people). Please. You're on the news. You play for the Eagles. Whatever. Get over yourself. Sheesh  When I interned, Nick Cannon came in with the writer/director of Drumline (who's also the WHASSSSSUP guy) to promote the film. I didn't know who he was when I bumped into him in the hallway. He probably didn't like that too much. Oops. :o
|
Hmmmm let me pull out my long list of celebrities I've met and make the tough choice as to who was the nicest. HMMMM... oh wait i haven't MET ANY
|
Hmmm...
He's not a "big celebrity", but he means a lot to me. I would have to say Nils Lofgren is the "nicest", though I was also able to spend the most quiet time with him, and I have yet to meet a celebrity that isn't "nice". I have met some that weren't extraordinarily friendly, by I don't care about that too much. Nils signed gobs of LPs, etc for me while we chatted, and he was very sweet and genuine. I went to a show in Portland and told him I was so sad because I was not going to be able to go to the show the following night in Seattle because it was a 21-and-over venue (I was 17 at the time). Well, I managed to sneak into the place in the afternoon and hide in a bathroom stall for a few hours (the soundcheck sounded amazing from in there!) until the show started. When he saw me after the show, he gave me a big hug and said, "You made it!" Debbie Harry and Chris Cornell are nice but very quiet. If you encounter either of them, don't expect a long-winded conversation! (Chris Stein is chatty, though, and told us we had to "shove stuff in Debbie's face if we want her to sign it" .) Paul, Linda, and Heather Mills McCartney: nice as can be. Very friendly. Timothy B. Schmit (Eagles): SO sweet. I had the chance to go to a guitar store appearance in Cali, which was really neat. He answered questions, took photos and signed autographs. He was just a genuinely nice guy who loves music. There was a young boy there who had drawn a picture of Timothy for him and Timothy held it up for everyone to see and got very excited. He was also very appreciative and surprised that I knew all of his work (solo, w/Poco, etc). I can't think of anyone else at the moment. Still hoping that FM meeting day will come....... |

EveryHour, I felt the same way about Chris Cornell... totally great, but totally quiet. Our moment was awkward because he's quiet, and, uh, I think he's a sex god.
I've never met Nils, but I've had a huge crush on him for a looong time. Love his albums. Nice to hear he's so great. |
Well, I've not met too many celebrities...but Mel Brooks was SO nice...he was super social and introduced himself to everyone...after literally bursting into the room with a big "HELLOOOO!" haha...very nice guy - he tousled my hair after our little photo op :)
|
Well obviously it was very cool to meet Stevie and Lindsey. But all too brief! I would have to say the coolest celeb I have met is Lorna Luft. Awesome lady. Met her after her show for the 2nd time last Sat and hung with her for a while. She remembered me from before and we chatted about random stuff like the Olympics and the strange woman in the 2nd row doing her cross stitch during the show!

This sounds stupid (andof course I don't often meet celebs anyway), but 100% Lindsey. I mean, ppl like Brett and Sharon were so amazingly nice, but Lindsey is a goddamn superstar, and the way he was when he found Lux backstage in Sydney was just so amazing. So I nominate Lindsey for the Award for Nicest Celeb. :)

Stevie was definately the best celeb encounter. She is down to earth and really appreciates her fans and I like the fact that she can relate to people emotionally, even when she doesnt even know you. She is the Best.
Steven Tyler was a hoot, very cool, funny and chatty. He makes you feel like you are an old friend. Gene Simmons was charming and so polite, not like the demon he is on stage at all. and he loves to talk with his fans about anything not just music. |

I would have liked to talk to her somemore, but there was no time, etc. I should have bought her some champagne!!!!!! :woohoo: |

So tell me... was this on the day I tried to meet up with you in London? Pip |

It was a little awkward with Chris C. for me too, because of his quietness, but it was so great because there was no one else around. Soundgarden was rehearsing for a tour at The Moore Theater here (I was tipped off by my friend's brother who was a bouncer at the time, and was providing security for some of the rehearsals...he got me a cool Chris autograph and a used Matt drumstick), so I sat outside all day in the stinky alley listening. I got Matt and Kim's autographs as they left (both nice also, especially Matt) and Chris stayed to work on vocals. Someone eventually told him that I had been outside all day, so he came out especially to say "Hi" to me:). He only said a few words, but was so sweet and funny. And, yes, we can't go without honoring the fact that he is one-hot-motherf*cker (and one of the greatest vocalists ever)! |

Firstly, RICK VITO!!!
Then, Christine McVie And, Dave Davies (of the Kinks)...may he fully recover from the stroke he suffered this past June. |

He may be nice, but his brother Ray? Total Diiiick! |

She does seem like a genuinely nice person. |
First and foremost for me would be Reba McEntire. I've met her like 4 times, and she's always really sweet and nice. You can tell she truly appreciates her fans, because all 4 times she actually stopped and chatted with me for like 10 minutes or so. Great one, this lady! :)
Second... Demi Moore. I met her one day when I (more or less) accidentally bumped into her, and we laughed about it for a couple minutes, then I got her autograph and she was on her way. She was really down-to-earth about it, and was even the one who apologized first! |
Debbie Harry and Chris Cornell are nice but very quiet. If you encounter either of them, don't expect a long-winded conversation! (Chris Stein is chatty, though, and told us we had to "shove stuff in Debbie's face if we want her to sign it" .)
Christ. I think I would be so tongue-tied in the throes of Chris Cornell's beauty that I would render myself unintelligible! No surprise that he's quiet, though. I've heard he's extremely shy. Didn't know Debbie Harry was so reserved, but I just adore Chris Stein. Those two are definitely opposites.... probably why they attracted for so long. |
Quote:
Chris is generally such an interesting dichotomy (sp? :sorry: ) of quiet & reserved and blow your socks off, classic rock star. LOVE 'IM!!! (Going to shows that involve him here in Seattle can be near-lethal! I'm surprised I lived to tell about the Audioslave show here last year...my god! He's a bit of a popular guy around here.;)) |
