What Airline Do You Fly Most Frequently?

Houston is Continental's hub, so that's what I'm usually on.
Last year I flew AirTrans and it was like flying in a crowded go-cart, but with less of a feeling of safety.
When I lived in Chicago I was usually on United (always delayed) or USAir.
The worst was this airline I flew as a kid, AIA. Newark to Chicago & back. Ugh.
I still have never been on SW - they seldom fly where I need to fly, and believe it or not, Continental is cheaper here. But Continental never gets my vegetarian meal right.

Delta - I live in Atlanta (their home) so I kind of have no choice

Livia 08-03-2004 11:43 AM

Southwest - I'm a frequent flyer - all the attorneys I work with are frequent flyers - I've got the Southwest Visa card - pretend it's my ATM card - cha-ching! Lots of free round trips in no time! And free drinks w/ the coupon books!

DeeGeMe 08-03-2004 11:50 AM

Delta--the joke is that if you live in the South you have to go through Atlanta when you die to get to Heaven. It's true--I pretty much can't fly out of SC unless I go through Atlanta first. Well, that's not totally true, the other alternative is to go through Charlotte via US Air but I much prefer Delta.

Delta is always the most expensive from here.
When I flew to Atlanta a few years ago, I got stuck on that airport train thing.

I never drink on flights. Don't know why.
SW is the one where you have to bring your own chair, right? ;)

Reminds me, I hate having to connect in the wrong direction. Waste my time why don't you.
Actually, I hate connecting. I fly non-stop whenever I can. But other than in college I've always lived in a big city.

EEK - That train to the terminals is a little scary - If I have time I usually walk it. It can be a mile or so to the E terminal, but some of the underground walkways have beautiful African art -plus it is a mini workout before sitting for hours on a plane  Plus, there is a moving side walk for about half of it

BTW - many joke that DELTA stand for Doesn't Ever Leave the Airport

I tried to boze it up on a one hour fliight from Atlanta to New Orleans and after one cocktail got so sick I have to stay in the bathroom for the remainder of the flight. So, no booze in the air for me

Have you ever watched the A&E show Airline? It follows around a few people that work for Southwest Airlines and shows all of the issues with passengers, fellow employees, etc. at a few of their hubs (LAX, Chicago Midway, etc.) It's an absolute riot how people act when they're unable to make it onto a flight, if they're drunk and can't board...

Yeah, I've heard that for the acronym explanation.
The train was kind of pushed on me - "You have to do the train while you're here" - the same way the OHare folks are so proud of the new agey lighted musical walkway.

Yep, I love that show. And the UK version of it as well...you know that tall, pretty, African-American woman who works in Chicago? I saw her at a distance in May...and one of the counter employees in Chicago told me to look for her in season 2, but I haven't noticed her yet...

Just got the image of poor Jason getting his face stuck in the pot, the way you hear stories of women making the mistake of flushing before getting up.

The UK version cracks me up...I can't deal with their uniforms and box hats. I remember that woman but I haven't noticed her yet either. I really want to be on a flight with the two that play "guess our combined age!"

I'm glad I read this twice. First time I honestly thought you said he GAVE you alcohol & you almost fell over (from the strength).
And before you get the chance to respond, I'll insist that the eyes are the FIRST to go. :wavey:

I had a friend who did a semester in New Zealand and absolutely loved it. Do you still have family there or are they all in Australia? How long is that flight? (just curious)

Well, that kind of did happen

BTW - I did - I went a whole month without booze in an attempt to quit smoking (they go hand in hand for me  ) - I also wanted to lose a little more weight and booze is just empty calories and McDonald's is just too good when you are hung  Interestingly, I can care a less about no booze for 30 days - but the cigs. are far harder

Hey! Neither one of us fell! However, everything became very surreal after those 5 cosmos...ahhh...twas a good day indeed.

As far as that second statement...I know what you meant but...

Charlotte is a US Airways hub, so i have no choice but to fly USAirways and pay out the ass for it. Charlotte is the most expensive city to fly out of in the United States.

That's why I drove to Raleigh to fly Southwest to DC for the October DC show, and I'm driving to Raleigh in September to fly Southwest to Philadelphia for the AC and Camden shows. :wavey:

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Nothing like being piled up on the roof of a swanky hotel on Fifth Ave. and getting into the booze. I also love how we just sort of took over the business center of the hotel, at which we were NOT staying  Oh Well!!!!!!!

And it was a gooorgeous night...chilly, but gorgeous. How bout' the couple asking if you could take a picture of them. Wonder how steady your hand was and how the picture turned out  Poor Chris had 5 phone calls to her house...I can only imagine what we sounded like. Hey, nothing wrong with take over the business center. You laid on that southern charm and we were in

When I lived in Phoenix, I flew either America West or Southwest, mostly America West. Since I've moved back to Missouri I haven't flown anywhere so I don't know. I will probably be making a trip back to Phoenix sometime this winter (hopefully for the AHI benefit), and then it'll be America West again.

wondergirl9847 08-03-2004 01:47 PM

Only one so far...

I've only been on British Airways (nice!!) and I'm about to take my first Southwest Airlines flight to Houston to see Justin Guarini in Beaumont. :)

I don't really like flying as I have a nervous stomach and motion sickness, but the busride I took back in June to see FM sucked even MORE!! BLECK!!

I'm sure that will be a big switch - British Airways to SW.

Whatever one gives me the best deals! Nashville was the closest airport to me for a long time, and it's a US Air hub, so I flew that a lot. They're okay. The last time I flew, it was America West.
