New? '70 and '72 bootlegs available
Just in the process of acquiring from one of my more obscure sources:
Filmore East - 7 Aug 1970 (audience recording, unknown source) 1 Like It This Way 2 I'd Rather Go Blind 3 Mission Bell 4 I Need Religion 5 It's Alright now 6 You Got Me Drooling 7 Jewel Eye Judy 8 Spare Me A Little 9 I'm Worried 10 Instrumental 11 Let's Dance 12 Teenage Darling Waterbury, CT - April 1972 (audience recording, unknown source) 1 Tell Me The Things You Do 2 Get Like You Used To Be 3 Future Games 4 Child Of Mine 5 Black Magic Woman 6 Shake Your Money Maker 7 Oh Well There's apparently a third 'intermediate' era boot due in the next couple of days. Haven't had chance to listen through to either in peace and quiet yet, but the '72 has a pretty decent sound. Willing to trade CDs to augment my Mac collection, if folks want, or equally wiling to provide pointers to where and how to get 'em if people have bandwidth and time to spare (these are 3-500 MB D/Ls) |
These are both now being seeded at http://bt.easytree.org. I have acquired the 1972 show and agree with Mike on it being listenable at least, around B-. Sounds like a reel-to-reel taping with the taper stopping the recording in between songs. I need to listen to it more for further details though.
(FYI: Getting the two shows requires BitTorrent software and SHN conversion software in order to get it burned to a cd-r. And registering to the site in question.) And of course I'm willing to trade for both of these, if there's people who don't have the possibilities to get these two (and the possible interesting third one). FleetFootMike can't be the sole spreader of all the good stuff around here. ;) |

Heck, no. The more the merrier. :) |

I missed the earlier ones, sadly, though I think ChiliD and I are trading one.
|
Cool...
I have a potential trader who has a ton of pre-75 Fleetwood Mac shows, Especially Peter Green era FM (So he claims, But I believe him because he has TONS of pre-75 Pink Floyd shows & he saw about 70+ cd's on my list he is interested in...)
When I found out exactly what he has I'll let y'all know. Brian "One can never have too many Beatle releases" j. |
Just listened to "Jewel Eyed Judy" (followed by polite clapping from the stoned hippies, obviously ;)) from that 1970 boot, the sound is B+ worthy for me. I'll leave the rest for Mike then, I'm off to bed now.
|
I'd love to have those 2 shows plus the possible third show. I'm interested in anything from 1970-1974. I'm not very computer savvy, so I think I'd rather do a trade than try to figure out that software. I'm in the U.S. Would anyone like to do a trade, if possible?

I'm very excited to be getting some more shows from this period. Until this year, I had only 2 shows from this time(those Heroes boots). Now all of a sudden, there are more of these in circulation. I'm interested in that third show that you may be getting. Please let us know how that goes. :) |
The revelation of a THIRD 1972 boot is great.
There's two I know of: A radio broadcast of a live show from Seattle; and, an audience recording from Sindelfingen, Germany |
I've got Peter Green-era stuff I can trade on cd-r. I'm not set up to deal with trading electronic files. Sounds like other people here have more '70-'74 things to trade than I do, although I've got a couple of discs from that period.
I'm not really a trader, I just enjoy the old Mac stuff so that's mostly what I have. I'd be up for trading for some of the '70-'74 stuff that it sounds like some of you have. If anyone is interested in a cd-r trade, let me know by email or PM. |
How rare...
are the following shows? I'm not an expert on the pre-77 shows & I would appreciate any input

estranged4life, that's a very nice collection! I don't know that any of those shows would be considered "rare" - there are a bunch of traders around that have most of those. The two '72 shows might be the hardest to find of that bunch.
A couple of comments: the May 6, 1970 and May 23, 1970 shows you list are not from those dates if they are the locations you list, they must be something else. The August 6, 1970 show is supposed to be from the Fillmore West. As far as the '70 European dates, this is the closest I can figure: Hanover 3/15/70 Berlin 3/19/70 Vienna 3/25/70 Boblingen 3/26/70 Copenhagen 3/28/70 Stockholm 4/1/70 London 4/9/70 BBC session There's apparently a 4/3/70 Helsinki show too. That's all based on a couple of bootleg track list collections I've seen, but they sometimes conflict and of course it's always questionable as to the real date & venue for these old boots. |
Those discs I listed...

I figured most of the dates were inaccurate, Thanks for the input. Brian j. |

Tell Me All The Things You Do, Future Games, Get Like You Used To Be, Spare Me A Little Of Your Love, Black Magic Woman, Little Child Of Mine, Lay It All Down, Oh Well. I don't know if this surfaced this year though. I do remember reading from this board that there was a couple of Welch era boots available before this year (not the 1974 radio broadcasts), and that they were both supposed to be from 1972 but were both in very poor quality. |

Ok, sorry for calling both 1974 studio recordings "radio shows". Not true at all for the other one at least.
Just found Macfan57's post from another thread: http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showpo...72&postcount=2. So it's the Berkley show that's being discussed here, right? Along with this one (that SaraRhiannon has listed): Fleetwood Mac live in Chicago, IL 1974 ~B-/C quality~ Coming Home, Green Manalishi, Spare Me a Little, Bad Loser, Future Games, Bermuda Triangle, I'd Rather Go Blind, Why, Nightwatch, Homeward Bound, Angel, Another Woman Pity about the qualities of the two shows, especially since the 1974 one has "Night Watch"! |

I sent you an e-mail with my trade list last evening. Please let me know if you didn't receive it. I didn't include the Berkley or Chicago shows on that list because the quality is so bad. I would grade both discs as C-/D, but I tend to grade pretty conservatively. I have to put on my headphones & turn up the volume on my CD player as high as it goes in order to listen to these CDs. If you are interested in those shows, I'd be happy to burn them for you. But, I just want to let you know that the sound quality is BAD. That Heroes show has some songs on there that I've never heard live, like "Coming Home", "Bad Loser" & "Nightwatch". "I Loved Another Woman" is extremely unusual. Bob & Chris do it as a duet! |
The two 1974 recordings(Hempstead and Sausalito) are GREAT. My Sausalito disk has "digital" skips in it, and I've been told all versions do, so I don't listen to it as much. But, I've listened to the Hempstead recording hundreds of times. I'd give it an A! One of my top five favorite CDs!

1971-1974 live recordings? |
Sausalito- yep, Bob says, 'We are the real FM, not a bogus band.' It's at the end of the introductions, while introducing himself.

"My name is Bob Welch and I'm wasted.. no.. I smoke too much... no..."
:) As I said, I have the full version: can do a copy once I get it onto CD. |
As far as I know, those aren't shows that just began circulating, they've been out there for quite a while.
I'm trading with someone now who has those shows, plus lots of other pre-BN shows and Kiln House outtakes. He's also got master recordings of some RAL and WH shows that never circulated because he never transferred the tapes to disc. :D It's been quite a year for bootlegs, IMO! |

And furthermore Dissention, if you could put up the dates, venues and setlists up somewhere, on this board for instance, I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate that. ;)
|
The third is now being shared: it is the same 1971 San Bernandino show that the avid readers of this board already seem to have. The date is listed as 2-19-1971, however, not 3-24-1971.

The track lengths should probably verify this: 1. Station Man 5.56 2. Get Like You Used To Be 3.47 3. Dragonfly 3.28 4. Purple Dancer 6.34 5. I'd Rather Go Blind 4.28 6. Tell Me All The Things You Do 13.25 Personally I'm glad to finally get this since this sounds great, both in quality and performance. :) |
Yes, that's what I have. Mine is listed as 3/24/71, but it's the same show, same track lengths. And, it's a soundboard, too!

I realized that I've had part of the San Bernadino show (and the 2/19 date sounds much more likely) for years - on side 2 of the old Merely a Portmanteau vinyl bootleg. I never realized what it was until I compared it to the San Bernadino disc earlier this year and realized it's the same show. Merely a Portmanteau has only "Station Man" and "Tell Me All the Things You Do". Track times are listed as 7:22 and 18:42. TMATTYD is not edited to fade out at the end of the track as the disc version is. And the sound on the vinyl version is noticeably better too.
I have a cassette tape I made from the vinyl, but I don't have the means to transfer it to cd-r. I'd be happy to send someone a cassette if they could put it onto a cd-r. I've got a few other things recorded from vinyl onto cassette, including the original studio versions of "World in Harmony" and "The Purple Dancer" (fantastic track!) and some Danny Kirwan & Peter Green solo and session stuff. If anyone's willing to burn a cd-r from my cassette and send me back a cd-r, I'd be very grateful, and then maybe we can start sharing this music too. If anyone wants to do that, please PM or email me. ***Got an offer to do that! Thanks! :) *** I promise I'll share the discs after I get them back! |
sharksfan2000, I'd like those original studio versions of "World In Harmony" & "Purple Dancer" when we eventually do our trade. :) I have the vinyl 45 with "Dragonfly" & "Purple Dancer", but it's pretty much unplayable with all the skips & surface noise.
