I've been to Canada many times, it's a beautiful country. The people are fantastic and it's so clean and warm to tourists. :wavey:

I'm actually going to the Canadian side of Niagra Falls in one month...and I'll be moving to Rochester, NY which is about three hours (less by ferry) to Toronto...so I will definitely be going to Canada in the near future!! And...just because I've always wanted to go to Canada :)

amber 07-21-2004 05:04 PM

I would, i guess - but isn't it too cold to swim in any rivers or lakes?

Bryan Adams...Need I say more?

GardenStateGirlie 07-21-2004 05:08 PM

I've been there quite a few times. If it wasn't for the fact that I keep spending money on Fleetwood Mac shows/travel and lodging for said shows, I'd love to take another trip up to Toronto. It is by far the cleanest and most friendliest city i've ever visited. Not to mention the shopping and food are both fabulous

Except the cab drivers are insane. Don't get into a cab unless you have life insurance. ;)

amber 07-21-2004 05:15 PM

Seriously, It IS to cold to swim in rivers and lakes there, right? I've heard of really cool other kinds of nature trips there, i think. Like kayaking. I would have to do something like that - I don't think i would ever take a vacation just to shop and eat. But I hear Canada's nature-ness is not to be equaled.

See, now to me, that applies more to NYC. Taking your life in your own hands with that ride

Our great lakes are about the same temp as yours....and we have many many smaller lakes (especially up in the Muskoka's) that we swim in all summer long.

You want cold, go to a beach on the east coast. You'll get hypothermia.

I have a feeling that if the worse happens and Shrub is re-appointed pres in November, that quite a few Americans will be coming to Canada-well, more like relocating to Canada. . . . . .

 Have you ever Canadian Bacon? Michael Moore directed it and it stars John Candy, Rhea Perlman, and Alan Alda as the President who creates a fake war with Canada to get higher approval ratings.

My favorite scene was where Candy and Perlman rowed over to Canada late one night in a rowboat from Niagara Falls and dumped all their trash.

You're welcome! Is that where you are in Ontario?? Missasagua is nice as well. When the theater opened there, we went and took a tour (choir/band trip) and performed in Mel Lastman Square.

I'm about 25 miles west of Toronto and about 10 miles north of Mississauga.

Alison 07-21-2004 07:19 PM

Where I live in Canada, it is not cold. Our lakes are very warm.
We often have temps over 105 F in the summer.
I live in southern BC. We have rattle snakes and black widows.
Can you believe it, I don't even live in a igloo.

I'll be coming to Canada to get married one of these days. :xoxo: :wavey:

I've always wanted to visit Canada, but first off, I want to see the States. All of 'em. So many people want to trave abroad (not like Canada is that far) but in my opinion, there is so much to see and do here at home. I would absolutley love to see wilderness in the northern part, because we really don't have open space like that here.

I had planned on going to either McGill or the University of Toronto and made a massive mistake in not going to either.

But Curtis, you could just come here and marry me.....oh hang on. I see what you mean, that doesn't particularly aid the situation. Maybe you could marry Joe....?

I will!

Actually, I had a planned trip to Vancouver/Washington back in 2000, but something bad happened and we didn't go. :( It's still on our roster tho, probably within the next couple of years, I'll be makin' my way up there. :)

Hawkeye 07-21-2004 10:47 PM

Living in Buffalo it's hard NOT to go to Canada. Traveling to Michigan, going to a casino, going to the "Specia'" kind of resturants where the waitresses dress or undress a certain way. AND I traveled to Toronto to see Fleetwood Mac.

And if there was ever a draft, I'll be singing OH CANADAAAAA for a little bit

GypsySorcerer 07-22-2004 12:06 AM

I want to visit Canada. My dad went on a fishing trip there when I was very little, and he loved it.

DeadliestPoison 07-22-2004 05:57 AM

I spent a week in Canada with the rest of the fam for a dog show (we used to enter one of our dogs into dog shows; he's since died) a few years ago, and I? Loved it. We were in Kingston, and I'd hang out by the lake that was there. Whatever one it is. lol.

I'd love to go back.

DeeGeMe 07-22-2004 08:27 AM

Montreal is a great city! If you ever get the chance to go there, I highly recommend it.

Patti 07-22-2004 10:18 AM

I've been to Vancouver once and to Toronto twice. I totally loved all three trips. Toronto is a fantastic city and I wouldn't hesitate to go back!

I can walk right down to the bay and get hypothermia right here in good ol' SF.
My friend told me the Atlantic is warmish in the summer, people flock to the shoreside, etc. Ours is cold in the summer. People still go in, though - I did about a month ago. I much prefer swimming in rivers, which we have a bunch of. I went to visit my friend in Chico over July 4th weekend, and we went to the river 3 days in a row (although the first day I was hungover and so had to take a little nap in the back of the minivan before i could go down to the river :p  ) and it was my version of heaven

I would love to visit Canada. It's been one of my many dreams (and future plans) to go to Montreal. I need to brush up on some French, though. :D

A close friend went to McGill. I've only been to Quebec City, which I really liked. It's been a long time.

Canada

I LOVE Canada, I visited there a few years ago, up near Calgery, Lake Louise and Banff. Lake Louise was stunning. The best part about visiting Canada is how polite everyone is. Canadians must find americans so very rude in comparison. I would love to go back someday :)

GretaRhiannon 07-23-2004 07:24 PM

I wouldnt go to Canada heh. Actually, I take that back. The only place in canada I would ever visit is Timmins, Ontario to visit the Shania Twain Centre, other than that, no. My friend with the British Columbia like last year, and she said that all the people there are rude, and the homeless are even more rude than the ones in America lol, so that kinda turns me off.
