Where does Fleetwood Mac go from here
Will it be
a rest and more touring a rest and a new cd a rest and solo cd's a rest and another rest What do you think is next.. |
what I would LIKE to see is another fleetwood mac album followed by another tour. What my gut tells me is that we probably won't see any of that. It's not about the money at a certain point...you dont make the lionshare of the money off the CD sales much anymore. It's the touring! Lindsey and Stevie can go out and get their rocks off by releasing solo albums just for the expression. Hell, thats what Christine did. Eh...who knows?
|
Didn't Lindsey have a 5-year plan which included another album and one more tour...?
|
I think solo albums for Lindsey and Stevie. Then the final Fleetwood Mac album around 2009 or so.
|
What next?
I think solo albums for Lindsey and Stevie and a new FM album in 2007

My Goodness!!!
Why is everyone thinking "final tour" and "final album?"
I think Fleetwood Mac can go on indefinately as long as it's members have the inspiration to do so. We could get an album in 2007 and 2009!!! And who knows, perhaps Christine will return!!! (Hey, if you talk nice to her, anything is possible! LOL! ) I think it will be a mix of solo and Mac. Whichever comes first will depend on how progress is made on either one. :) Thoughts? I think we will see solo albums from Lindsey and Stevie first. I think we may see a final Mac album and tour by the end of the decade.

I think a new Stevie album is next. Who knows how long Lindsey will take to perfect his this time. - Jake |
These guys I met at one of the concerts had gone on the backstage tour and had talked to Chris Nicks. According to Chris, Stevie plans are to start working on a solo album around November.

a rest and solo cd's a rest and another rest QUOTE] One of the two above. Maybe solo for Stevie and rest for Lindsey. Or maybe rest for everybody. I would expect a mac cd in 2006 or 2007. Not before. Yeah, again the "7". 2007 would be a good year. MAybe for an album recorded in England (knock knock! Christine????) |
Here's how it will go. Stevie will rest, record, release, and tour. Liddy will start working on his solo work. He will call Mick to do some percussion work. Christine will help out with harmonies. John will just be around, like always. Enters Stevie with a Spirit Catcher.....She will be tired, but excited since she wrote 4 songs...
It's 2007....They will do an album....tour...but only 40 dates, 'cuz Chris hates to tour....and Liddy will still be talking about his solo project. -Curtis |
Hmmm...when I was reading the Forbes Magazine blip about Fleetwood Mac, it mentioned that they signed a two album deal with Warner Brothers. Between that and the fact that Stevie and Lindsey seem to be getting along better than they ever have (otherwise we would not have gotten a 1.5 year tour!:) I think we will see another FM cd.
I have to think that we'll also get a Stevie solo album sometime soon. She'll probably have a bunch of new material after being on the road this long. And I have to say, as much as I am loving these Mac shows (going to my 4th this coming Friday) I wouldn't mind hearing a Stevie solo show again, so I hope that happens. Just my thoughts... Erin |
Sarcastically speaking...
Either they "Go their own way" or "They go home" :lol:

Heres what I think...
The way I see it from the Destiny Rules documentary, Lindsey was talking to John about doing this for "four or five years" from 2002 so 2007 would be a realistic timeframe. He also mentioned that for him to commit to the band he would want a lengthy tour followed by another album and one more tour after that..
LB will now finish off his solo album in his newly paid for studio and get it released to critical acclaim but it won't sell amazingly well.. Stevie will release a solo album followed by a tour which will sell very nicely. The band will regroup in January 2006 for the follow up to Say You Will and most likely a final group studio album, with a view to a final all out tour. Late 2006/early 2007 they will tour with a guess of something similar to this current tour. Paying one final visit to Europe, Australia, Canada etc before a final leg of the States finishing in LA or even the Bay area... 1967 Fleetwood Mac forms, 1977 Rumours released, 1987 Lindsey leaves, 1997 Lindsey rejoins and they tour again, 2007 one final album and tour to mark 40 years of Fleetwood Mac and 30 years since Rumours..... Thankyou and goodnight after that, retirement calls.... |

God I hope not! It's bad enough I couldn't afford the "Say You Will" tour. |
Hey, who says they won't reunite sooner to perform at the Kerry Inaugural Ball? ;)

LOL@ the final tour seat prices
|
I spoke with Mick Fleetwood personally in Adelaide as we knocked back some Hennesy. He said, as one would expect, that a new album is not out of the question but entirely dependant on what Stevie and Lindsey want to do after this tour.
Someone else posted that solo albums would ensue post-tour. My money is on that - especially as far as Stevie is concerned. Cheers Rochelle |

Thanks for the info, thats really re-assuring to hear. I reckon they will do another album too with Christine, just a feeling I have, now that she's done her solo album, I reckon she will have the bug to get back with the Mac and do a final tour in a couple of years. Lorraine :) |

I read the interview at fleetwoodmac.com and it sounds like there isn't going to be another fleetwood album unless lindsey is corrupted into making one, at least that is what I got from it.
I hope they do make another album, with Christine on board, and hope they never grow tired of making music apart and together :] |
well according to Forbes they signed a 2 album contract with WB/Reprise for Say You Will so we will see
Chris |
what is with everyone saying Stevie's the one who's going to be releasing a solo albu,m and Lindsey's going to either rest or take time releasing his album. Have you guys had your heads in the ground the past month or so. Lindsey has basically confirmed that HE will be releasing a solo album in 2005. He also said Stevie is tired and needs a rest. So I think Lindsey will release his album, do a 3 month tour then do Fleetwood Mac. And Stevie will just wait until Fleetwood Mac.
|
Well Stevie has said herself on the ASK STEVIE on Nicksfix she will put out another solo record after this tour concludes....
Lindsey said he hopes to have an album out by Spring 2005 unless that is "intervened upon by a Fleetwood Mac album" as his albums often are...so who knows Chris |
Although I dont know if LIB counts as part of that deal
Chris |
I have read somewhere that LIB was referred to as an Album...ie: They have released 2 albums lately...SYW and LIB.
Tynan |
That could be it, the SYW cd and LIB cd/dvd, I bet that is what they might have done to fulfill their contract to WB

You're kidding right? Stevie doesn't have to wait on anyone when it comes to recording  |

. I wish I was kidding, but face it, Lindsey has his album basically DONE. Stevie hasn't done crap. And it's been Said MANY times Stevie needs a rest after this tour. Which means her resting isn't going to start until September and I doubt she'll start recording her album until Lindsey's gets released. And by the time his tour finishes and he's ready to do Fleetwood Mac, Stevie will be a whole year at least behind mayb more considering a tour, I just see Stevie for herself waiting to do Fleetwood MAc and skipping a solo release, and I don't read anything into that Ask Stevie crap, she answered that question BEFORE The tour BEGAN. Lindsey's comments are from a month or two ago. But who knows MAYBE recently everyone's views have all changed and Lindsey will scrap his release and Fleetwood MAc will be the next thing. |
I hope she does rest, she has a pretty powerful work ethic, but if she needs to rest I think she should. I just want what's for the best ya know?
