Sheryl Crow
I saw Sheryl at the NEC in the UK last week. Excellent gig. I have uploaded some photos I sneaked here:

I'm glad you enjoyed the show. I really like Sheryl's music but when I saw her in concert I was a little disappointed. Even though she played most of my favorite songs I thought the show lacked energy until the end when she played Led Zep's Rock and Roll.

Sheryl Crow?..Lacked energy? That sounds alien to me...she ROCKED Dublin on Sunday night!! It was INCREDIBLE..one of the greatest shows i have ever seen.It had the same energy from the crowd that was there when the Mac played Dublin.Sheryl was loving every minute of it...lots of crowd interaction too.The UK dates from the few days before were supposedly nothing on what Dublin had.

Yes... I hear that Dublin was quite a show! I wish I could have been there! I think Sheryl is fab live.. and while we were wating for the show to start at the NEC they played Too Far From Texas! :)

I haven't gone to see her live yet, but I want to. I love My Favorite Mistake.

Thanks, Pip!
Did anyone see her Soundstage episode last week? She played Member's Only, one of my favorite songs, and it totally rocked. Part two will be on later this week and she's doing Redemption Day, my fave from her. |

I've seen Sheryl live twice -- once at the great Austin Music Hall in early 97 and at the Woodlands amphitheater in Houston in 2002. She was much more animated and playful in 1997, like she had something to prove after all the crap that was flung at her after her first album. I had the "Rockin' the Globe Live" DVD for a while and kicked myself repeatedly for missing that tour -- it had a really dark vein running through it (which I love). Although I could have done without her short haircut from that period. ;) |
And - my favorite Sheryl songs: "It Don't Hurt" and "Ordinary Woman".

Thanks so much for the photos! They're great! I love Sheryl's music too, she's such a great preformer... :D

I'm trying to remember where I read that...I think it was a recent issue of Rolling Stone in the "who's in the studio" section. It was a little snippet with Sheryl saying that her next album will have a lot of love songs on it with the theme of "I Love Lance." Now everytime I see Lance Armstrong in a commercial on tv, I get excited about the new album! I'll see if I still have the article...

Hmmm...I'm not quite sure what a neuticle is, but I'm guessing it's not pleasant.

Reminds me of Steve from Sex and the City: "Who wants to screw a uni-ball bartender?" |

Yep, that's the one! I was to the right-front of the stage when the Wallflowers were on, and I slowly squirmed my way to center, directly in front of Sheryl about 3 or 4 people back. I remember when "Sweet Rosalyn" came on I started jumping up and down, and she sang the "She got a number off the bathroom wall..." verse directly to me! She looked so different -- a miniskirt with a big, curly hairdo and a lily over her ear. My fave song of the concert was when she went to the back of the stage and played the keyboards for "Superstar". I miss the Austin Music Hall -- I used to see concerts there all the time, not to mention going to a few of those freaky weekend-long circuit parties they hold a few times a year. The other concert that really stands out was Tori Amos' "from the choirgirl hotel" tour. I was toward the back about 2/3 of the way for that show, but I'm glad because it was one of the loudest things I've ever heard in my life (and that's a good thing!). That concert also had some of the best lighting I've ever seen -- very moody and inspiring. |
