Coke or Pepsi?

I know, neither is my first choice, but if you have to choose one to drink, which is it?

Please choose ONE. (It can be diet, but no alternatives such as root beer or Sprite or Slice, etc.)

And I vote Coke.

chiliD 06-22-2004 06:28 PM

Coke
Vanilla Coke
Cherry Coke
Diet Coke
Diet Cherry Coke
Diet Vanilla Coke

I draw the line at Diet Coke with Lemon & Diet Coke with Lime.

And, "caffeine free" ? It brings up the same question as "alcohol-free beer"...WHY?

And that new C2 coke? Tastes like transmission fluid...not that I know what transmission fluid tastes like...but, I can only assume.

But, as a kid I used to drink RC Cola...whatever happened to THAT?

sodascouts 06-22-2004 06:30 PM

Regular Coke - but, if I want to get a diet drink, I do Diet Pepsi. It's sweeter.

strandinthewind 06-22-2004 06:32 PM

Diet Coke. I cannot stand Pepsi. It taste like bark to me!!!

Diet Coke

chili - as for the caffeine-free ... I drink that if I want the taste but I don't want to be wide awake all night. I "get" that but I still don't get the non-alcoholic beer either......even though it's kinda the same concept. Go figure.

Lala 06-22-2004 06:47 PM

Pepsi

Coke was ruined for me last year when I went to Guatemala on a mission trip. The Guatemalan Coke was disgusting, and it made me so sick. I really should have thought about the possiblity of them using their own water to make it, which of course my body couldn't handle.

But...if this counts...I also love Pepsi Blue.

Merf 06-22-2004 07:27 PM

Coke.

None of that diet, vanilla, CO2, whatever crap.

JUST COKE.

DeeGeMe 06-22-2004 07:31 PM

I prefer Coke over Pepsi but I prefer Diet Pepsi over Diet Coke. But I usually buy whatever's on sale. And yes, I'm one of "those" people that drinks diet, caffeine-free colas. Other than my two cups of coffee in the morning, I just can't handle drinking anything with caffeine--I'd be awake for days if I didn't watch it.

sara1998 06-22-2004 07:34 PM

Coke. That is, until my mom goes on strike. (she works for coke) then I will take her and her fellow strikers some cases of Pepsi, because they aren't allowed to have it on company property. That would piss 'em off, huh???

DrummerDeanna 06-22-2004 07:51 PM

I am a diet coke/diet cherry coke fanatic!

I think Diet Pepsi is the most horrid heinous liquid ever put into a can or bottle...it's just nasty.

I recently tried the low carb Coke-not bad....

Overall I really just prefer Coke....all the way...if I go to a restaurant that does not sell Coke products, I just get water or tea....every time :)

estranged4life 06-22-2004 08:07 PM

Neither...

I prefer RC Cola, A&W Root-Beer Or Diet Dr.Pepper

Johnny Stew 06-22-2004 08:17 PM

Caffeine-Free PEPSI, baby. :)

Coca-Cola is waaaaaaay too sweet & syrupy for my tastes.

hayley 06-22-2004 08:19 PM

I like vanilla and cherry coke, but I HATE HATE HATE regular Coke. It's disgusting.

Pepsi's where it's at.

Although I haven't actually drank anything besides water (and one glass of lemonade last week!) for the last six months, so I barely remember what either taste like.

strandinthewind 06-22-2004 08:22 PM

I have always noticed Pepsi is way more popular in the North than in the South. This is just my personal observation. Does anyone else notice that?

estranged4life 06-22-2004 08:23 PM

Even though I love...

the soda's I mentioned in my earlier post I have decided to cut back due to my medical problem (Had an Esophageal endoscopy & biopsy this afternoon...And I am exhausted) which may have been worsen due to the acid content in most (If not all) soda's.

So it's back to water & tea for the forseeable future...

DeadliestPoison 06-22-2004 08:52 PM

Diet or Cherry Coke. :)

Hawkeye 06-22-2004 08:54 PM

Coke all the way. I think it's the Stevie fan in me

MammaTango 06-22-2004 09:46 PM

When I used to drink pop it was Pepsi or RC Cola, preferably with a Moon Pie.

macmar71 06-22-2004 09:56 PM

Diet Coke
Also the versions with the Lemon and the Lime.
The Lime one is my favorite!!!!!

sparky 06-22-2004 10:57 PM

I'd go thirsty.

golden braid 06-22-2004 10:59 PM

I don't think it's really the same concept. Non-alcoholic beer doesn't make sense to me because beer is not the best flavor, IMO, and people I know drink it for the buzz - not the same for Coke.

I haven't had CO2, but Vanilla Coke is disgusting! I like cream soda so I thought I'd like it. Yuck.

I love coffee & tea but tend to avoid them because of the caffeine, but there are no limits to the chocolate, so go figure.

I won't get any of the Pepsi products in restaurants. I hate it when I order sprite and they bring Slice, though usually I'll get neither.
In my college days we all drank a lot of Mountain Dew, and I'm old enough to remember the old GYOW commercial.

Coke has a bit of a cinnamin taste to it, but I don't know about syrupy-sweet.

I know, I stick mainly to water and sometimes iced tea, and now if I have soda it tastes really strong. You can't go back.

Coke is based in Atlanta - maybe this is why? I'm not sure where Pepsi is based. I know Dr. Pepper started in TX, but that's another story.

That's a good thing. They say if you know what soda does to your stomach, you'll never drink it. I'm sure you've read the stuff about using Coke to take out stains in the tub and in pots.

Sorry, I didn't think this instruction would be necessary, but now I must step in to say that you may not call it "pop" in my thread. ;) :wavey:

I thought this was weird when I first saw it. The same people ate opeanuts in the shells & salted their grapefruits. Now that stuff doesn't faze me, though it's not for me.
