Fleetwood Mac on PBS!
It's been confirmed that the Say You Will concert will air on Thursday, June 3 on PBS Soundstage. Just giving everybody a heads up. It looks like they moved it up two weeks. Bill
|
June 3rd, yeah I was wondering why they would release the dvd before the show actually aired. Does PBS have a sister station? Or is it on PBS?
|
Conflicting info
Soundstage broadcasts coming soon:
Fleetwood Mac Jun 9, 8:30PM This is what I get at PBS.org. I'm totally confused. Here is what it says for the TV schedule: 8:30pm Fleetwood Mac Live In Boston: A Soundstage Special Event CC Members Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks revisit the passion that propelled them to legendary success in this special 2-hour "Soundstage." From the moment the band takes the stage with "Chain" to the lullaby ending of "Goodbye Baby," the performance is a promise delivered. |
 Maybe it's a rerun
|
Maybe I'll just watch PBS every night until next Friday just so I don't miss it! Obviously nobody knows for sure when this airing is
|
Is everyone getting the info for their own Soundstage broadcast from the Soundstage site or some other source like their local PBS or TV listings?
|
I went to the Soundstage website and there are no listings for ANY OSundstage broadcasts on either of the two stations in my area.
|
I checked
The Soundstage site at PBS.org. Perhaps, it's premiering on different days in different areas.
I guess go to PBS.org to check for your area to see when it airs. |

Thanks, Christy. I did check both Soundstage and my local PBS station (I have 3 different PBS stations) and no listings for the show.
I sure hope my extra special DVD package from PBS shows up on time:) |
Ah... dang it. Nothing for me. I guess I'll just wait until I get too impatient and buy the DVD. :p
|
For the PBS airing of The Dance there were some taped interviews with Lindsey and Mick that some stations aired during their pledge drives. Hopefully since this is such a huge PBS show and drive there might be some taped interviews with the band....or they might just use some footage from the DR documentary.

PBS produces a number of programs. Many of them produced by local affiliates for national broadcast. Soundstage is an example of this. It is produced by the PBS affiliate in Chicago. However, the individual affiliates are under no obligation to air the program at the sametime or even on the same day. There is a good chance that one market might get a new Soundstage on June 3, another June 5, another June 9, and yet another not at all.
The best thing one can do is go to pbs.org. Go to Soundstage. Then type in your zip code. It will allow you to choose your local affiliate. Also because PBS affiliates often overlap DMA's you will be able to view all PBS station in your area. |
Heads up for those in the Charlotte area.... Soundstage: FM is only airing once this month, on Saturday June 12th at 11PM on WTVI (Channel 5 on Time Warner Cable).
And that's the only time! |
I was looking through my PBS listings and this came up for Tues. June 8, kinda caught me off guard lol : Bobby Darin: Mack Is Back
lol anyway! Chris |
:distress: All I get is "No listings available for this month" on NJN.

Dammit. My local PBS doesn't have it listed for the 3rd, and searching FM on their site produces nothing......   |
Unless it is on...
the 15th, Then it is probably not on here in the OKC area (I checked the local PBS schedule for the next 2 weeks and Fleetwood Mac is nowhere to be found)
|
Sounssatge for DC area
I looked it up on pbs.org and it looks like the earliest date is June 17th. It's on MPT-Maryland Public Television. It looks like it's not going to be on WETA at all.
|
Heads up for those who get WILL in Champaign-Urbana: It's airing TONIGHT at 8 pm.
|
Well according to my Tivo Wishlist on which FM is on it said it was to air last night - I got John Hiatt. :-( Thanks for the update - I'll check on those dates!
BTW, when does the DVD come out? Lauren |
HEY BIRMINGHAM:
Alabama Public Television is airing Soundstage at 11:00 SATURDAY NIGHT (June 5)! Be sure to catch it! For those with Hi-Def capability, the program airs in high definition on PBS-HD in Alabama on June 18 at noon. Can you say "Go home for lunch"??? Enjoy! ~Jamie |
In the Boston area I found this info about Soundstage - June 18th 5:00 AM and June 19th 11:00 PM WGBH Channel 2.
|
Man, my PBS sucks. They've never had anything.
|
No listing shows up on the web site for UNC-TV (for the Triangle area of NC), so I called. She said she *thought* it would be broadcast in July, but she didn't know the date. I said that some stations were airing it in June, and she said it definitely wouldn't be on in June. :(
|
I searched for both GPB (Georgia Public Broadcasting) and PBA (Atlanta's PBS Station) and nothing came up for this month. Hmmmmm......
:wavey: adam :wavey: |
Boston PBS
Soundstage is listed for June 18th at 5:00 AM and June 19th at 11:00 PM -WGBH Channel 2 - waiting patiently...

Houston PBS - KUHT, Channel 8
Wednesday, June 9 @ 7:00 p.m. Saturday, June 12 @ 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 13 @ 2:00 a.m. http://www.houstonpbs.org/site/PageS...gename=PR_Main Description: Fleetwood Mac's SOUNDSTAGE performance is a promise delivered. Members Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks unite for an evening that revisits the passion that propelled them to the top of the charts in a night of rocking classics and in-depth exposure of their latest collaboration 'Say You Will.' Buckingham and Nicks, who commanded the band's musical direction at the height of its popularity, revel in the introspective lyricism that swept Rumours into the stratosphere of all-time best selling albums with sales exceeding 25 million since its 1976 release. Songs off that album include 'Go Your Own Way,' 'Dreams,' 'Second Hand News' and 'Don't Stop.' The wrenching lyrics, harmonious delivery and purposeful melodies maintained by the rhythms of Fleetwood and McVie have endured several stylistic incarnations over the decades. Other performances include the dramatic 'Rhiannon,' the early hit 'Say You Love Me' and new releases 'Peacekeeper' and 'Goodbye Baby.' |
What's the deal? I see listings for both a Fleetwood Mac show and a Buckingham/Nicks show on the Soundstage listings for June. Could this be real?

It's on RIGHT NOW in my town. I wonder why the PBS stations aren't showing it at the same times. Weird.
Props to SN for growing out the bangs, but WHY won't she lose those awful shoulder pads?! Jessica P.S. They sound great, and I'm especially pleased to hear how good Peacekeeper and Say You Will sound live. However, watching this confirms that I have no regrets about not seeing this tour. It isn't the same for me without Christine. |
I'm not even going to bother watching this on PBS whenever it may be aired. It'll just be the condensed version anyways. I'll wait for the DVD.
