What's Your Least Favorite Part Of Housework?

I hate ironing and making beds. Most of all I detest cleaning the tub. I have to make myself do it regularly, but sometimes I cave & call my building's maid service.

I don't mind doing laundrey (thank goodness I have my own machines) or wiping counters. I love the Lysol wipes.

When I was younger I really liked vacuuming, but now I don't care for it at all.

BTW, I have yet to use my dishwasher. I think I know how to use it.

I'm guessing most people here love vacuuming and ironing but hate doing laundrey. I'm correct, right?

I don't mind ironing and I don't mind vacuuming. I make my bed a few times a week but not all the time. I'm the only one who sleeps in it and no one else comes into my room. At the end of the day, i'm just going to come home and jump back into it. Why do I care if it's not made? I don't do laundry. I seriously don't. It's not that I don't know how...it's that my mom still offers so I say, "sure" because I really DO NOT like it AT ALL.

And Mom knows to separate the cheetah print delicates from the acid washed Daisy Dukes, I'm sure.

If I wasn't on post concert high, i'd tell you I hate you. ;)

dissention 05-30-2004 01:59 PM

The bathroom. Shudder.

Next time I have guests over, I'll have to tell them to learn how to aim or piss outside. You'd think that some people just whip it all around the bathroom for no reason or rhyme.

GypsySorcerer 05-30-2004 02:30 PM

All of it.

I don't mind laundry. I don't mind vacuuming. Or cleaning the bathrooms. Or the kitchen. I love cleaning the pool. JUST DON'T MAKE ME IRON. Hideous.
Also dislike yardwork, but am getting used to it. What I really need are the following - a new sprinkler system, a good gardener, and a friggin maid.

Another vote for "All of It". I don't see the purpose of making up my bed when I'm just going to crawl back into it again. But I do change the sheets once a week. I don't mind that. And laundry is fine with me too. I wear the dishwasher out at my house. I guess my least favorite chores would be sweeping or mopping the floors. Yuck.

goldie 05-30-2004 06:38 PM

Mopping & ironing. ugh.

Hey, when it's big, it's tough to control. :sorry:

Solution: Have only female houseguests.

I'm low maintenance. Just get me the maid. And she doesn't even have to frig. ;)
No yard here, so no yardwork, pool maintenance, or sprinklers.

I forgot about mopping. I have such a tiny and unused kitchen that I never mop. Mopping does suck, but scrubbing the tub is still worse.

Yes, sheets must be changed. Anybody who has read anything about dust mites will agree.

You underestimate my ability to p!ss you off.
Funny how the right cheetah print can make you stand out in a crowded arena, eh?

I think you're right. Scrubbing the tub is a bitch. Or the shower stall, but that's easier then the tub. Plus, I have one of those garden tubs in my master bathroom. You literally have to get in it to clean it.

Ya... scrubbin' tubs takes the cake.

Oh, do I?

Choosing the perfect cheetah print...that's very important concert preperation indeed.

It's the worst part even for those of us with only one tub that isn't garden size. ;)

I don't LIKE doing any of it, so the very best I can hope for is "don't mind". I don't mind cleaning the kitchen or bathroom...anything that involves the sanitation end of things, I can handle. It's when we hit the tidying end of the spectrum that we hit a wall. I just don't do it. Period. I can't. Physically and mentally incapable. My boyfriend calls me Pigpen and can only take it for so long before he takes over my personal messes. (Okay, I've gotten a little better over the years, but I still need a lot of work;).) My absolute worst is putting away laundry. I can do the loads just fine, but I constantly have a massive "clean clothes heap" that I select from daily. I finally at least started laying out my jeans flat while they are still warm because I was tired of looking like I had crepe paper for legs. And if I'm working on some type of "project" (art or recording a bunch of videos or something)?! Fageddaboudit! It looks like WWIII until I finally clean it up about 2 months later. Anyone have organizational tips? I think the mess, over time, can contribute to insanity.

I don't have tips, but I will say that I don't like living in a mess. I'm not a neat freak; I can throw things down when I come in but they don't remain there for long. Laundey is folded and put away immediately because I hate to iron, and all work clothes go to the cleaners. Works for me.

Dusting and window cleaning is the worst on my list.... and we don't even have a dishwasher.

I don't mind dusting (unless a place is really dusty) but window cleaning is annoying.

If your dishwasher is so loaded, stop paying him. ;) :sorry:

I'll learn to use my dishwasher some time, not that I really need to. I still don't cook.

i'm a total pig, any housework is just NOT ME. the only tidy places in my house are the bed, the bathroom, and my cd's cabinet.
what saves it from becoming a total mess is that
1- i'm okay with vacuming.
2-i love wearing synthetic clothes.
3-god created mr. dishwasher.
i AM human, i mean i do seperate the dirty clothes from clean ones, and i do take out the trash and stuff, but as i write this i can view 5 pairs of shoes on the carpet next to me. :sorry:

I scrubbed the garden tub, the shower stall, and Sara's tub today. I cleaned both upstairs bathrooms and the half bath downstairs. All 3 toilets are cleaned... Now I smell like bleach and I don't like it.

Why in the hell did I buy a 2 1/2 bath house?

Don't know about the 1/2, but IMO having a 2nd bth is great ! Even living alone. It's invaluable for parties and house guests.
