Soundstage dvd release date

Dutch website www.dvd-home.nl has a release date of 26 October listed for Lindsey Buckingham with Stevie Nicks- Soundstage. I imagine this will be a worldwide dvd release date since all soundstage dvds released sofar were. And it's in DTS too!

:)

sodascouts 05-29-2004 10:16 PM

Terrific! Can't wait to see it (hope I didn't get on camera).

sodascouts 05-30-2004 12:49 AM

Hey guys -

Just looked for the link and couldn't find Lindsey's name. Has it been taken down?

whitesoxx 05-30-2004 05:51 AM

I just double-checked- it's still there: click on "r2-database "and then "alle komende titels" and scroll down. However, I made a typo, it's October 26 and not 16. Sorry!

However, I did some searching on the net and it seems most Soundstage dvd-releases sofar (including Chris Isaak and Michael McDonald) have been European-only releases- so US fans possibly will have to get it as an import shoud it not be released in the US...

If it is a-comin' for sure then they better not leave certain songs (and THE snippet) out. You know which ones I'm talking about ;)

DownOnRodeo 05-30-2004 07:16 AM

Oh yes let this be so.

Down On Rodeo, Murrow and SGCYM live? Oh yeah. Ohhh yeah.

Meanwhile... October is a friggin eon away!

Thanks for posting this, Rick!

I haven't been back long enough on the ledges to know what you're talking about (or I just don't read every thread), so please tell me

Oh, I've been around here a lot less lately myself.

What I tried to say was that I'm not interested in performances similar to those of the Dance; there would be too much redundancy for me. If they're going to drop some of the songs from the taping, then the best thing for the fans would be to use only the songs that we don't have audio/video versions of. It's not a matter of liking a particular song over the other; it's a desire to hear as much semi-new stuff as possible. That's how it is for me, the Finnish doodle that I am anyway. ;) The tracklist should be something like this (and as you probably remember, he played every song twice except for a couple of exceptions):

Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind
Steal Your Heart Away
Big Love (1X) (OMIT)
Go Insane (OMIT)
Trouble
Peacekeeper (2.5X) (since it was supposedly different from the FM versions because of the limited number of musicians on stage, it can stay)
Red Rover
Never Going Back Again*
Say Goodbye* (OMIT, you can see it all over again on the Boston DVDs)
Murrow
Go Your Own Way (if it isn't here then will any casual buyer buy the release? ;))
I Am Waiting
Down on Rodeo
Bleed to Love Her
Save Me a Place

(+ the snippet of "Frozen Love", the closest we can get to a live performance of it these days)

That's how I'd prefer it but the best thing would be if they didn't leave out anything, of course.

Mind you, there should be no typo in there. I didn't write "VOMIT", I wrote "OMIT". ;)

Thank you, Rick! I was just getting paranoid about it - remember the "upcoming release" site for one record company that told us soon we would be getting "Gift of Screws"? I believe that was in 2001, lol.

Like you, my fondest hope is that they include everything! I suspect they might clip off Frozen Love just as Storytellers clipped off the Sara snippet Stevie played. Oh well, I can at least hope!

As for leaving off Say Goodbye - Stevie only sang on two songs! Getting rid of SG reduces her to just singing backup on "Been down one time, been down two times" lol.

DVDs have lost of space. Even if they get rid of some things for broadcast, I hope they include them in the DVD as a "bonus."

That's fine with me. Lindsey's the attraction this time, not Stevie. :D

Nancy, in fact it was from 1997 to 2001. I remember the first time it was pushed back thinking- OK even if it`s only finished in summer of 98 I have the Soccer World Championchips and the LB record to look forward to at the same time... Well at least the championships weren`t pushed back thanks to the fact that LB had nothing to do with the organization
BTW I am sure during this time Lindsey git inspired to record the "I am waiting"- cover...

Bugger. At the day the releasedate is mentioned to us, it is postponed. Typical. ;) ;) ;) :D

It's weird. free record shop normally does not know anything I talk about when I ask for releasedates. Usually they're very late, and have a VERY bad eye for more alternative releases. (what this definately is, especially in Holland, where the band is totally out of sight.)

stefan 05-31-2004 08:25 AM

Gerald and the other European ledgies!
I just looked at amazon.de and saw that the first DVD (the FM soundstage) will be released on August 9th. That is way too late- what are you going to do? Waiting for the release, organizing a round robin as before, or ordering from the US? But can we see that format over here- I am not talking about PAL System etc but about the country codes. Or is that problem solved nowadays? Let's speed things up folks!

I don't know, Stefan, I'll ask the wizkid at school wednesday about the importdvd-formats. But I tend to order from the US. I just don't know how much more the shipment costs. Maybe it's an idea to order a couple of copies at once per country, so we can share the shipmentcosts? Or do you pay shipment per copy, not per order?  i sound very desidive, don't I?

FROZEN LOVE?!?!? *jumps around the house excitedly* (sorry, neighbours!)
thanks for explaining, couldn't agree more with you! New stuff, never done live before songs, I'd like that very much :blob1: :blob2:

I can't see region one dvd's here either, yet. I'm trying to figure out how to change the settings to make it regionfree..

Hi Stefan-

You can easily modify -or let somebody modify- most dvd players so that they can play discs from all regions. Check www.videohelp.com and then "dvd-players" for info about your model or do a google search using your model and "region free". Or PM me and I'll look for you.

I have preordered my Boston dvd from the US, but want Destiny Rules too, but do not know if the company that sells it will ship it to Europe. Does anyone know?

By the way, all PAL dvd-players play NTSC discs, but not all NTSC players play PAL discs.

Rick

Mari 05-31-2004 05:38 PM

I guess my dvdplayer is either very new or very obscure, I can't find hacks to make it regionfree :(

Hi Rick, thanks- I still have to buy a DVD player which I will do when the FM DVD gets released. I will look for the infos on the net before. Still have to admit that I don`t see why a technology gets artificially complicated like this.

Mari 06-01-2004 08:44 AM

the news gets better and better: July 12th according to Amazon :)

littlelies7 06-01-2004 06:47 PM

Has it premiered on PBS yet?

Well yeah, I forgot that. But then again one song dropped doesn't make too much of a difference, she still didn't do much on stage overall and yet they're still using her name in the marketing of the whole thing. Geez, I wonder why that is... ;)
